The connectors are valuable, however it doesn't check that the access granted was previously requested.

Centralized identity governance has automated lifecycle management and simplifies compliance
One Identity Manager could be improved by making the initial setup and configuration simpler, especially for complex workflows and integrations. The user interface and reporting dashboards could also be more modern and intuitive with better out-of-the-box analytics. Additionally, clearer documentation and faster implementation guidance would help organizations get value more quickly. One specific challenge my team encountered was the complexity during initial configuration, especially when setting up custom workflows and role models which required more time and expertise. We also felt that out-of-the-box reports and dashboards are limited, and more customizable real-time analytics would be helpful. Better documentation and guided setup wizards would make adoption easier, particularly for teams new to identity governance tools. One improvement I think One Identity Manager needs is the enhanced self-service experience. The end-user self-service portal could be more intuitive with clearer guidance for access requests and password resets. Additionally, while integrations are solid, deeper cloud-native connectors and API-driven automation would help in hybrid and multi-cloud environments. A more responsive mobile interface or dedicated app for approvals and tasks would help managers who are often on the go. One more improvement is the built-in predictive insights or trend dashboards around access patterns and risk could improve proactive governance. More descriptive error messages and in-tool troubleshooting tips during setup configuration would reduce dependency on external documentation or support.

Pros

"It has allowed us to have a central system for handling security profiles for all users on different target systems e.g. Oracle, Unix, and Active Directory."
"One Identity Manager is a very robust tool with plenty of out-of-the-box features in the identity and access management space, and it is very easy to customize and fits for very complex platforms."
"One of the best features in One Identity Manager that I really appreciate is its high customizability."
"Even without any customization, if you install it, configure it, it's ready... It's very powerful. Without any customization, it starts working."
"In terms of what I found most valuable in One Identity Manager, it's the only product where the workflow and the catalog can be configured on roles or by business people. You don't need to know the technology at all to configure that, so this is the product's biggest advantage as well as its strongest feature. One Identity Manager is also business-oriented and IAM administrator-oriented."
"There has been a strong return on investment after implementing One Identity Manager, especially through automation, reduced operational efforts, and improved security."
"I like how One Identity Manager is designed. We can control granular-level permissions. Compared to SailPoint and CyberArk, we can go granular in the access levels. We can control it at the table, column, and database levels. That's the power of One Identity."
"The solution is very stable and we rate it a twelve out of ten."
"One Identity Manager has positively impacted my company by minimizing manual effort, providing time savings, efficiency, and data integrity."

Cons

"This product launches a request to add or remove accesses on different target systems but it doesn't check that the access granted was previously requested."
"Their support is inadequate."
"One Identity Manager needs better documentation and more examples, especially for beginners, as it has a steep learning curve."
"The documentation is poor. For example, the synchronization editor has a lot of things happening, but there's just a description. If you want to do something specific with that like create custom views, they just say go to the extension and select the UUID. However, if we don't have a UUID for this view, it will not work. That isn't in the documentation."
"One Identity could add more connectors for various services we integrate. We need to build and configure custom connectors for our clients with complicated environments and multiple data streams."
"Their technical support's attitude is a bit strange. Quite often, we have to prove that there is a problem with the product rather than having them prove that there is not a problem with the product."
"The solution should come up with a lighter version so people can buy different versions."
"There is always a need for improvement based on the features, which is why I deducted one point from the overall rating."
"The product must include SaaS in the future."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The solution is flexible, in general. You can define the parts of the solution that you want to use, and it won't affect the price."
"Pricing depends on licensing models, such as per-user licensing and feature-based pricing. Additional models like governance, provisioning, and reporting increase costs."
"One Identity isn't cheap for small or medium-sized businesses, but I don't think it's necessary for a small company to use. The price is fair for large enterprises with thousands of employees that want to adopt a zero-trust model."
"There is a one-time licensing cost, and there is also a yearly subscription fee."
"From a cost perspective, One Identity has the biggest bang for the buck."
"One Identity Manager is fairly priced."
"We have the premium support and are very satisfied. They are always answer our questions very quickly. For the moment, we are very satisfied, but I think it's because we are paying for the premium support."
"Its price is okay."
