Affordable for enterprise-sized companies
Speaking about whether the product enhanced our company's data center scalability, I would say that it was a solution that was used in a banking company, where it served as a replacement for Cisco. Though Arista Networks Platform is similar to Cisco IOS CLI, I feel that the former product offers better prices compared to the latter tool. Arista Networks Platform office is more efficient at a lower cost. I recommend the product to those who plan to use it. The tool is stable and cheaper than Cisco. I would say that Arista Networks Platform is 100 percent compatible with the existing infrastructure in my company. The impact of the tool's network telemetry on our company's troubleshooting practices was just good for the scope for which I need the product. I rate the overall tool a nine out of ten.

Helps to save time and has no issues with integration
We use the solution for our browser router.  We haven't faced any issues with the tool's integration.  Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms should incorporate gen AI features. I have been working with the product for five years. I rate Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms'…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Arista Networks offers similar features to Cisco."
"It is very stable. It has good hardware and very stable code. It provides good value for its price. They are a very lean type of organization, so they are very responsive, and they're able to focus more on their platform versus having multiple products out there."
"The best part is the single operating system that they have. Regardless of your model, it's the same operating system functioning across the board, which means you don't have to worry about backward compatibilities between your older switches and the new ones that you deploy."
"The most valuable features of Arista include low latency, scalability, and sustainability of the products."
"The most valuable feature is the Linux shell, which is useful for troubleshooting or capturing traffic."
"The product's initial setup phase was straightforward."
"If someone uses Arista Networks Platform, I believe they are secured."
"I find the operational system used by Arista to be very valuable, and the hardware is exceptionally nice. Arista has a unified operational system called EOS that is easy to set up and replicate on other devices. The ease of configuration and transition between devices is a significant advantage for me."
"The most valuable Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platform is its ability to do routing in any way that I need. It's more than capable of handling the load I'm currently sending."
"The product is highly scalable."
"The most valuable feature of Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms is its robustness."
"We haven't faced any issues with the tool's integration."
"I recommend Juniper because it is a code router that is easy to configure and manage."
"This solution is easy to manage and the resiliency of the hardware is excellent."
"It's a stable product."
"The main benefit of the Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms is their stability."

Cons

"The intent-based networking management, together with the provider of these solutions that are already free, would be beneficial."
"Arista Networks is currently less popular as they were initially more focused on data centers than campus networks. They should expand further into campus networks."
"In my opinion, the solution for network monitoring is quite expensive."
"A weakness would be that in our company, we don't have many people within our team who support the product because there are different vendors, and most of them are not tier-one vendors, so the skills required sometimes are just not there."
"They should have a more stable code."
"The solution is a bit pricey."
"Currently, Arista is too costly for its customers."
"Arista Networks Platform should focus on improving the compatibility or integration with Cisco solutions."
"Although the support for this solution is good, there is still room for improvement."
"Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms should improve by being more agile with new technology that sits on top of the router."
"I want support to improve in terms of quality."
"The main disadvantage is the price when compared to MikroTik, which is much cheaper but less stable."
"Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms could improve by having a graphical interface. A lot of the younger generation tend to be used to graphical interfaces, command line tends to scare them."
"The product licensing process needs improvement."
"Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms should incorporate gen AI features."
"It needs to be more multifunctional for enterprises."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Arista is very expensive. Not everybody is in a position to spend $70,000 to $80,000 for one switch."
"If one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the product price as seven out of ten."
"It is pretty pricey for a networking platform. It is on par with Cisco."
"The customer price for an Arista router is approximately $7,000 USD, while Cisco's is around $18,000."
"Cost wise, Arista Networks Platform is more expensive than other networking solutions."
"Network devices are generally expensive. However, during the evaluation, Arista was the most inexpensive vendor."
"I rate the product price a seven on a scale of one to ten where ten is high price and one is low price."
"I remember that when our customers were offered the Arista Networks Platform, they used a checklist to compare the prices between Arista and Cisco for their requirements, and found that the prices were almost the same."
"The tool's pricing is in the middle."
"The price of Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms is reasonable. We are on a perpetual license. I do not have any maintenance service as part of the license."
