Handles workloads and diverse applications efficiently
We have a lot of VMs on Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers. On a single server, we have probably hosted 14 or 15 VMs. Out of these, 8 to 10 are continuously running, and four of them are backup VMs, so it can handle a good workload. For cybersecurity, it is only accessible on the intranet; it is not accessible through the web. We use it for local development purposes, and it is behind our firewall. Its security is strong. We handle a lot of test data for government and confidential customers. It is safe and strong locally. We have not experienced any security issues. Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers have helped to reduce unplanned production downtime if we need to replace a hard disk, instead of completely shutting a server, there is a hot swap feature. It is quite good in that aspect. Usually, for any activity, there is a downtime of about 30 minutes. It has saved a lot of time. We have tried AI workloads for a development environment for a government customer in Singapore. The servers are hosted in Singapore. It is an ML-based engine with AI. It is a government project where data is processed, and we run it on Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers. The benefit of running AI workloads on PowerEdge Servers is that it is easy to allocate memory. The application we are running is memory intensive. It is pretty easy to scale memory and storage.

Helps to save time and has no issues with integration
We use the solution for our browser router.  We haven't faced any issues with the tool's integration.  Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms should incorporate gen AI features. I have been working with the product for five years. I rate Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms'…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"From using Dell PowerEdge R-Series, I've seen benefits in that it's a very popular platform, so we have a lot of information online."
"Overall, I would rate Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers in our environment a nine out of ten."
"Our customers do not ask for any service for the Dell EMC PowerEdge Rack Servers because they are very durable."
"The best features of the Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers are the service, the availability of the equipment, and the relational price quality."
"I like the iDRAC feature. I have also seen long life from each part and haven't had to call support, as far as I remember. I use competitors like HPE and we need spare parts every year."
"Customers share with us their experiences, highlighting reliability, ease of use, maintenance, and lifecycle management. They frequently mention that this equipment doesn't break, stating it works and functions reliably."
"The product is well-rounded and has been effective in meeting our needs."
"I would rate Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers overall about a nine out of ten as nothing is truly perfect, leaving opportunities for improvement."
"The most valuable feature of Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms is its robustness."
"This solution is easy to manage and the resiliency of the hardware is excellent."
"The most valuable Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platform is its ability to do routing in any way that I need. It's more than capable of handling the load I'm currently sending."
"We haven't faced any issues with the tool's integration."
"The main benefit of the Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms is their stability."
"It's a stable product."
"I recommend Juniper because it is a code router that is easy to configure and manage."
"The product is highly scalable."

Cons

"There needs to be more flexibility for business options."
"The pricing could be better, as budget is always a huge thing for us. Anytime we can get better pricing, it helps convince the business to adopt it."
"The quality of support for this solution varies. Sometimes you get agents who are amazing and other times you get agents who take a long time to resolve your query."
"One of the things that I've noticed is that over time, the system degrades, meaning that little things don't work. For example, the hard drive would need to be replaced or iDRAC would not be functioning properly. We may have to flash the firmware. It is not like some other hardware where it just runs without issues for four or five years. With Dell, generally, there are little hiccups here and there."
"The solution needs to offer better service feedback, their response rate is slow when we have questions."
"Being in Belgium, which is a small country, we might be considered too small for Dell since we only have 40 Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers. This sometimes affects our ability to receive deployment support."
"The price distance increases with the higher-end, more complex servers, and there is room for improvement."
"While we are generally satisfied with their service, we'd like more connections between meetings and proactive support. We had a session about two weeks ago, where we talked about areas they need to improve."
"Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms should improve by being more agile with new technology that sits on top of the router."
"Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms could improve by having a graphical interface. A lot of the younger generation tend to be used to graphical interfaces, command line tends to scare them."
"Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms should incorporate gen AI features."
"The product licensing process needs improvement."
"It needs to be more multifunctional for enterprises."
"Although the support for this solution is good, there is still room for improvement."
"The main disadvantage is the price when compared to MikroTik, which is much cheaper but less stable."
"I want support to improve in terms of quality."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is cheaper than HP servers, but the price could always be better."
"The high cost of Dell PowerEdge Rack Server licenses is attributed to the pre-installed Windows Server operating system from Microsoft."
"The pricing for PowerEdge servers is reasonable."
"I have no issues with the pricing and licensing costs. They are fine."
"I don't know about the product's licensing part. Price-wise, it is an okay product. I believe that the cheaper the better, but I think that the product's price is okay."
"The pricing for this solution is reasonable. We pay a basic premium with a military premium on top of that."
"It's a one-time licensing fee for the device and we pay a quota per year for the support."
"I know the pricing for Dell PowerEdge Rack Servers went up last year, and we weren't too happy about that, but it is what it is."
"The price of Juniper MX Series Universal Routing Platforms is reasonable. We are on a perpetual license. I do not have any maintenance service as part of the license."
"The tool's pricing is in the middle."
