Empowers teams to build visualization-rich reports and make faster decisions using historical user behavior data
I think areas for Amplitude's improvement include data retention. The maximum data I have worked with, the clickstream data on Amplitude, is two years, whereas we rely on Tableau for historical data of at least two years. I am not sure whether it was my organization paying for lower retention or not, but having historical data would take away the reliance on Tableau. Secondly, reconciling clickstream data with Databricks or other AWS systems could help analysts spend less time verifying the accuracy of both sources, which would be really helpful. Lastly, a more focused approach on error logs is necessary. I have found that, at least with Intuit, we used Splunk more for error logs than Amplitude. Although Amplitude had the capability, developers seemed to prefer Splunk, so if that could be improved, it would be good.

Centralized journeys have streamlined multi-channel customer engagement and personalization
Overall, my experience with Braze has been very positive. If I had to mention areas for improvement, I would say the number of campaigns, canvas segments, and channel growth can become challenging to manage and organize. I would also like to see more flexibility around reporting and analytics, especially being able to easily combine cross-channel data and customize reports without relying on additional data from outside of Braze or data platform teams. Braze has been improving its reporting capabilities, and new reporting and dashboard features are definitely moving in the right direction. Additionally, making complex journeys easier to troubleshoot and maintain would be beneficial. When large canvases have multiple branches and conditions, having strong visibility into why a customer took a particular path would ease things for engineering and marketing teams. There is also a limitation regarding making the platform easier to manage at an enterprise scale, especially with a growing number of campaigns since Braze does not have features such as folders for organization. Regarding improvements, Braze's technical support is excellent, but I see areas where the experience could be smoother. On integration, Braze has a strong set of pre-built integrations and APIs; however, for some complex enterprise systems, integration can require engineering effort. More out-of-the-box connectors and simpler configurations would definitely help. From a UI perspective, while the platform is powerful, navigating and troubleshooting can take time with a large number of campaigns and complex canvases. Apart from that, I find the support extremely helpful overall, so I would not say there are major gaps, just opportunities for making this already strong platform easier to manage at scale. One area I would like to see improvement in is the visibility and troubleshooting experience. When running large-scale campaigns across multiple channels, more detailed end-to-end visibility on user interactions would be helpful, such as tracking when a particular user enters or exits a canvas or whether an issue occurs. I would also like to see ongoing improvements in reporting, particularly making it easier to connect campaign performance to our broader business metrics without extra engineering work. As Braze adds more AI capabilities, I see an opportunity to leverage AI not just for content creation but also for troubleshooting, identifying campaign issues, and explaining performance trends. This would save a significant amount of time for both the marketing and engineering teams.

Cons

"Amplitude is almost perfect, but there are some charts I cannot create due to the large data structure."
"We have seen tagging issues with Amplitude in rare scenarios, which can be improved."
"Amplitude could be improved by being cheaper."
"I give it a nine because it is close to a perfect ten for me, but it is only useful in one layer of the project, not the other, which the tool is supposed to do."
"We attempted to use their screen recording and session recording capabilities as a replacement for a previous vendor, and we found that the functionality they offered did not stack up to the previous vendor."
"The visualization of the properties can also be enhanced. Basically, the visualization could be better, and the real-time analytics can be enhanced."
"I think areas for Amplitude's improvement include data retention. The maximum data I have worked with, the clickstream data on Amplitude, is two years, whereas we rely on Tableau for historical data of at least two years."
"Setting up reports in Amplitude was challenging for me as a newer user."
"The drag-and-drop function was expected to be more understandable and easier to implement, but it turns out to be quite technical, making it difficult for marketing managers to develop components by themselves."
"One area where Braze could be improved is usability for more complex campaigns."
"Currently, I find that the AI decisioning features, particularly the churn model prediction, are underrated and could be better."
"Braze does a very good job in terms of capabilities, but sometimes the roadmaps could be a bit clearer."
"Braze needs to provide local support, especially for Indonesia, so we can discuss local context more effectively."
"I am not sure if this is a natural characteristic of CRM tools, but onboarding Braze into an organization requires significantly more effort."
"Braze could improve the use of AI agents in the tool, as we currently have AI only in a few features such as copywriting, but we cannot build journeys with an AI agent supporting the process."
"Customer support used to be amazing, but now it requires going through a portal, which means I often speak to different representatives who do not fully understand the specifics of my organization, and that is challenging."
