Strong technical support and effective toolset improve workflow but setup process requires refinement
I have experience with Nintex and K2, but I do not have experience with Unqork. I am specialized in Microsoft products such as Power Automate and Power Apps. I have knowledge of Microsoft Intune and Defender, along with certain Azure components. I work for an organization as a presales architect, proposing solutions to customers. I am familiar with Microsoft Defender for Identity, for Business, and for IoT, though I haven't worked extensively on that. I have a conceptually good understanding of it. I'm mostly working on Microsoft collaboration tools, which include SharePoint and Power Platform tools. I have been dealing mostly with Microsoft, but also with other vendors. Regarding database services, we typically use SQL server services. We have not used Amazon RDS; typically, we use PostgreSQL or MySQL. On the Azure side, I work with Azure Database services including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Cosmos. I was previously working as an architect for U3Soft and am currently working with Birlasoft (B I R L A S O F T). My overall rating for Amazon API Gateway is 8 out of 10.

Has required significant improvements due to limited features but offers simple implementation and good support
Boomi AtomSphere API Management has very few features. If you ask me to name the top two, I would say MuleSoft and Apigee, as it depends on the customer-to-customer use cases. After those, WSO2, Kong, and whether you say Informatica API Manager or Boomi AtomSphere API Management, they stand with only three out of ten features which are essential for API management. All the features that Apigee has, they need to add. All the features that MuleSoft has, they need to add. It is not a simple task. The problem is that they lack features. It is not their performance. There are many features to mention. When you take and compare all the features that Apigee has and all the features that MuleSoft has, they need to implement those features.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"API Gateway offers a multitude of configuration parameters that enable versatile request filtering and protection against potential attacks."
"It is a brilliant service and very helpful with our API-based applications because, as a service provided by Amazon, you do not need to maintain it or monitor the traffic; you can simply configure it and it is ready to use."
"The Cognito authorization integration is very useful, along with the easy multi-region integration and connectivity with various AWS services like SQS, SNS, and Lambda functions."
"This solution gives you end-to-end protection in what you're able to do, including certificate-based TLS from endpoints so you can protect the whole link and it will generate certificate keys for you."
"Amazon stack is easy to use in combination with other Amazon services, so it was a logical continuity."
"It's easy to integrate and provide support for existing AWS services if I use the AWS API gateway."
"All information and data needs to be sanitized before it enters a private domain and we use this solution to do this."
"The initial setup is pretty easy. Deployment only takes five minutes."
"Integration is straightforward. There is no issue with it."
"Boomi allows for more secure URLs and easy customization of HTTP and HTTPS protocols, which I find very beneficial."
"We can create APIs straightforwardly and quickly and build jobs for data migration."
"The stability of the solution is good."
"Integrations take less time."
"AtomSphere is tightly integrated into the Boomi iPaaS platform, and Boomi has been augmenting AtomSphere API Management for the past couple of years so version 2.0 is better than 1.0."
"We can develop almost any interface that we need."
"AtomSphere API Management is a simple platform that's easy to use. If you're using it on-prem, there's a little learning curve."

Cons

"The user interface could be improved, as well as customer support and having a local customer representative in a country."
"The API Gateway lacks the capability to directly facilitate API strategy development or user onboarding workflows."
"The user interface, in general, can be better. The user interface for the entire Amazon cloud can be more friendly."
"Its performance and scalability could be better compared to one of its competitors."
"When using APIs, the manual bit for intermediate confirmation with VTL can be a challenge."
"I'd appreciate improvements in the user interface to make it more understandable, especially for new AWS users."
"It's hard to configure. There's a lot of options but it's very hard, it's very confusing."
"It would be useful to have a more complete development environment for the developer, with different integrative capabilities to manage all the life cycles for the API."
"To some degree, you need to know what type or amount of API you are creating - whether it's a rest API or web service API. You need to know ETL in order to really get the most out of Boomi."
"To some degree, you need to know what type or amount of API you are creating - whether it's a rest API or web service API. You need to know ETL in order to really get the most out of Boomi."
"Scalability is an area where Boomi lacks."
"Boomi AtomSphere API Management has very few features. If you ask me to name the top two, I would say MuleSoft and Apigee, as it depends on the customer-to-customer use cases."
"The product is really complex to manage."
"The API management has room for improvement."
"It's difficult to integrate the on-prem application with the Dell Boomi Cloud. We have to check to ensure the Dell domain engine is running. It just requires some service endpoints from our on-prem application to connect to Dell Boomi Cloud to make it available to integrate. It would be better if AtomSphere API Management were offered as a purely SaaS application, so I wouldn't need an on-prem component to make it available. We could make a test call or provide some connection parameters. That should enable it to pull the data."
"Overall, I would rate AtomSphere lower than solutions like APG or API Connect."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing model for API Gateway is advantageous due to its serverless nature, as it depends on traffic volume."
"The product is expensive."
"Since it's a serverless solution, Amazon API Gateway is not so expensive."
"Azure products are more cost-effective than AWS solutions"
"The solution's price is reasonable."
"AWS charges for data ingress and egress, which could be further reduced. This would be helpful for customers dealing with large amounts of data coming in or going out from their systems."
"It is somewhat costly, particularly when it introduces server-related features, which are often scheduled on our end."
"Amazon API Gateway is a very cheaply priced product."
"The product can get very expensive quickly if you connect to multiple databases."
"The price is reasonable."
"Boomi AtomSphere API Management is a cheap product."
"Boomi AtomSphere API Management gives customers a good price. Price-wise, the product is good."
