Reliable image backups have protected our HMIs and simplified on‑premises recovery
We have not tried the vulnerability assessment feature yet because we have a different set of protocols for our cybersecurity. We conduct audits and plug the gaps as part of our security approach. We are not using AI with the anti-malware from Acronis; we are using it only for backup and recovery. On the backup and restoration side with Acronis Backup, some on-premises AI features which can detect anomalies may be something which would improve the product significantly. Otherwise, we are not very comfortable with cloud-based solutions at this time. We are looking for products which are entirely on-premises, so they remain within our control.

Good policies related to data
I primarily use it for various policies related to data, such as data retention, data deletion, and archiving policies. All policies can be set using this system The most valuable feature for me is the policy management capabilities. I would like to see more integration with different platforms,…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"This is a perfect option for an SMB."
"This product gave us two major features: Imaging allowed us to create clones from the production server with ultimate speed, and protection against server failures with the ability to restore on different hardware."
"The user interface (UI) is easy to use."
"The fact that I can backup my entire computer including the operating system, registry, etc., and my data drive, and optionally restore either one or more entire drives or specific files or folders, with automatic full and incremental backups scheduled nightly, is invaluable."
"The most valuable feature is the fact that it backs up my systems transparently in the background, and I'm not even conscious of it."
"It's always stable. It's very good, useful, and user-friendly."
"I have not used other backup solutions to compare how well the features work but I have found Acronis Backup to be user-friendly, overall easy to use, and performance is good."
"It actually does its job very well and has interesting capabilities, but it has the most awful interface."
"The most valuable feature for me is the policy management capabilities"
"The flexible ways you can get to the data and the options that it gives you for backing up your valuable data are what make its offsite storage so valuable."

Cons

"It seems like I haven't had any issues since I added the RAM to the Management Server, but it does seem to start being sluggish because I have it running on a Windows 7 machine."
"The solution could use a single sign-on integration that can default to the admin dashboard."
"There are some limitations to the backup."
"I would like to see better centralized management, because I use it across multiple clients. To have a console that centrally manages them would be nice."
"It would be nice to have it on the cloud platform without using third-party equipment."
"Version 12.5 only has a web interface which is absolutely unacceptable for this type of product."
"The support takes too much time to respond to callbacks. Calls are often scheduled around four to five PM and tend to occur with a two-hour delay each time."
"The initial setup was complex. We had to deploy it through an external consultant team."
"I would like to see more integration with different platforms."
"Basically, the only thing I do not like about it, it was keyed off Lotus Notes."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"This is an affordable product and fits within our customers' budgets."
"You don't have to pay for licenses. You can pay per gig per month. It is pretty reasonable, especially when you do it per gig."
"Licensing fees are billed annually and there are no extra charges."
"I would say that at the pricepoint that it's at, it's definitely worth the money."
"Its price is quite friendly on the pocket. You need to pay the licensing cost upfront, and then the support charges are on an annual basis."
"I think that the prices of the product go up every year. If one is extremely expensive and ten is absolutely cheap, I rate the product price as six."
"Our licensing fees are on a yearly basis."
"We pay a yearly subscription fee and the pricing is reasonable."
