Optimizes business processes, is user-friendly and flexible
The software is user-friendly, flexible, and can be used with various data sources. It provides various reports and charts that help organizations to identify areas for improvement and optimize their processes. ABBYY Timeline is a great choice for business process analysts, process owners, and IT professionals who are looking for a tool to help them analyze and optimize their processes. The process flow/diagram is the most valuable feature, as it offers a helpful visual simulation that allows users to see what's happening in the grand scheme of things and then drill down into specific tasks and processes to see where the bottlenecks are. For those companies that look for the low-hanging fruit in terms of process automation and operational excellence, this is the tool you need to succeed.

Enables a data-driven approach to process analysis and helps generate cost savings
This tool allows me to discover value before discussing technology. It's the first solution that combines business competence and capabilities with technological capabilities. With Celonis, I discuss processes and root causes, analyzing the bottleneck resource process. There is an app centered around a data-driven approach. I can create the model and, in a data-driven way, map processes using technology that supports people in investigative activities by finding root causes where processes falter. Celonis emphasizes that these goals aim to generate cost optimization.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"ABBYY Timeline provides various reports and charts that help us identify areas for improvement and optimize our business processes."
"Celonis assists me in optimizing processes, reducing throughput times, and identifying automation opportunities."
"It provides a visualization of the process itself, giving a very good synthesis of performance and helping me find improvements."
"Celonis is intuitive, powerful, and user-friendly."
"In my opinion, it's quite an advanced tool."
"The training material is good. The information is very systematic, detailed, and comprehensive. They have a training video for almost every single thing, which makes it easier to know how to use the tool."
"Cause analyzer is a very good feature."
"The solution offers very good division management."
"It performs well for connecting multiple processes."

Cons

"There are a couple of new features available in Timeline that still need more time to mature."
"Essentially, the solution should allow for more plug and play instead of requiring a person to be adept at a certain level in coding and developing."
"It could be less expensive."
"Celonis should have the ability to automate in the next release, in my opinion."
"From a development perspective, I think there could be improvements in version control and deployment."
"Celonis' data engineering processes should be transformed into a low-code structure"
"Celonis is a little more expensive than UiPath. Maybe they can work on making it less expensive."
"Similar to what SAP is doing with S/4HANA, Celonis should allow business users to create their own analytics tab. In my previous organization, business analysts were the only ones who were actively building these reports with Celonis, whereas SAP platforms are now allowing the business users to create their own reports with graphics and all other things based on the data that is presented. This is one thing that Celonis needs. Currently, just the technical teams are doing that. Sometimes, when we were looking at five years of data, it used to take up to 3 seconds. It wasn't bad, but we had to wait a little bit. It probably also had to do with the server. I don't know if it can be used on mobile devices. If not, that will be the way to go. They should mobilize it to allow people to see these reports on their mobile devices."
"They should provide a community edition license so that everyone can deploy or install it on their own system and get more hands-on experience with the product."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Evaluating the price of the solution can be a difficult question. It is all about the business case and the return of the investments. That is typically how we also see this type of solution. It depends very much on the return. The entry-level is focused on enterprise size companies, for the SMB segment is it is out of their range. It is definitely expensive."
"The solution’s pricing is high when compared to other process mining tools."
"Celonis is a little more expensive than UiPath."
"The solution’s pricing is based on APC. It charges you based on the amount of GV that you use."
"The cost would be a concern for a certain category of customers. Flexible cost models would help smaller players be able to adapt Celonis into their business operations."
"The solution requires an annual license. There is room for improvement because it is priced for organizations and not for individuals. For an individual, it would be too expensive for them to use it."
"Celonis is expensive, but it is functional."
"It is only affordable for large or public companies."
