I would appreciate improvements in the onboarding process within AWS Lake Formation. The ease of setting up policy management needs enhancement. Currently, configuring it manually takes considerable effort from the organization and requires collaboration between teams to determine the right policy configurations. Additionally, rows and columns are the only control style available. I would prefer to have time-bound policies so that these policies are active only for a particular time for a specific user. This would have helped during situations when business analysts were temporarily working for our organization, as we had to manually cancel out the policies. AWS Lake Formation has improved collaboration in the form of governance. Previously, data was kept on S3, and manual settings needed to be created. We had to set up many things independently, create IAM users, and create policies for everything. Governance became easier, which made giving access to different data teams more straightforward. Access to data became centralized yet controlled through AWS Lake Formation.
