We have not extensively used the integration of Oracle Cloud Object Storage with other Oracle Cloud services. We primarily use Object Storage for backup purposes. I rate Oracle Cloud Object Storage eight out of ten.

I use JBoss application server in Oracle infrastructure.

We install JBoss in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, similar to on-premises installations.

We provide deployments and a platform for our customers. We have three customers that use JBoss on Oracle. We reduced the Oracle application server because it is more expensive than JBoss.

We have three services implemented in Oracle with JBoss: a PTP solution, a REST API for SMS, and an API service for WhatsApp.

It has very good performance, and compared to AWS, it has lower costs.

The system protects information through implementation of security features such as WAF and virtual networks.

We implement our own REST API for our platform, and the system is easy to use. They offer backup and recovery services.

They have good support, good development, and there are always new features we can use as providers. They continuously implement new features, and our next step is to introduce AI.

We have support but haven't had a reason to use the backup and recovery features.

Physical layer encryption is present in the data blocks. Regarding scalability, Oracle Cloud Object Storage is very simple to manage. There is no need to worry about growth or charges. If you have a 2GB database, you will only be charged for 2GB, and if your database grows to 2TB, there is no need to think about adding block storage because the storage will automatically grow.

Oracle is more cost-effective than competitors. The technical support from Oracle has some room for improvement.

When comparing Oracle Cloud Object Storage with Azure Object Storage, Oracle Cloud Object Storage is the superior solution. The main advantages include better data encryption, implementation, and performance, which is notably faster.

I work with JD Edwards World, JD Edwards Enterprise, and the complete Oracle product suite, including Oracle ERP, Oracle Databases, Oracle Storage, Oracle OS, and Oracle Security.

Oracle Storage includes the Sun Storage array family, Unified Storage system appliances, and cloud storage options such as Oracle Cloud Object Storage and Archive Storage.

Data durability depends on the engineers managing the data and their policies, specifically how they configure Oracle Cloud Object Storage in relation to compute instances, database services, or application services. The performance through data transfer is significant.

Oracle Cloud Object Storage can be deployed on Oracle Cloud and other cloud providers such as AWS. This versatility makes it a useful solution.

On a scale of 1-10, I rate this solution a 9.

We have used it as a storage solution. We use Oracle Cloud Storage for objects. We have used it for all our storage solutions for large applications. We utilize it mostly in the cloud environment and not on-premises. The functions we have used involve calling an object in real-time for our applications. However, storage is typically used for a non-real-time environment.

What stands out is that it is a workhorse. We use it where we have a large dataset and need very high availability. High availability, a large dataset, and stability are our main criteria for using this solution. The storage solution is utilized for large applications, and that has been our use case—very large applications. We use it mostly in the cloud. It is stable, requires high availability, and works with large datasets seamlessly.

There is always room for improvement. When a product is marketed, many claims are made, but in reality, it does not always perform as expected. The usability and real-time capabilities could be enhanced. The product can be difficult to use compared to how it is marketed. Technical support also lacks a timely response.

I have been working here for almost five years.

It is a stable solution with high availability.

It is scalable. We have not faced issues with scalability in our use case.

We have faced issues with Oracle support. When issues arise, it takes them at least three to four hours to respond. Sometimes, the expertise of those who come on call is not adequate. Technical support is an issue.

It is an expensive product. We do not use a monthly plan; instead, we opt for a quarterly or semi-annual licensing model, which we negotiate.

We also use NetApp and HP. Additionally, IBM solutions are incorporated for different applications and solutions.

The overall experience with Cloud Object Storage is rated as seven out of ten. 

I have used Oracle Cloud Object Storage for storing unstructured data, provisioning infrastructure as a code, and deploying the core banking solution in a cloud platform. 

My experience includes working with Oracle Banking Trade Finance Process Management and migrating the product from WebLogic server to Oracle Kubernetes Engine.

Oracle Cloud Object Storage is valuable for storing unstructured data, such as text documents and word documents. It also provides multi-region support, enhancing data accessibility and safety. In object storage, I can configure primary and secondary regions for better stability and support. It is easy to scale too.

I could not find a load balancer in OCI similar to the support provided by Microsoft Azure and AWS.

I have been working with Oracle Cloud Object Storage and WebLogic for over two years.

In my opinion, the tool's performance is very good. If Oracle can improve the tool's performance and make it better, then it would be good. There should be some kind of integration with other platforms so that we can use it from another place, in an integrated manner from multiple clouds or a hybrid cloud.

I used to use Azure's cloud services. I started to use Oracle Cloud Object Storage because the biggest part of our company's systems is based on Oracle, be it in areas like ERP, EBS, or RMS.

Azure's price is not cheap. OCI is affordable for us. With Azure, the infrastructure appears better, but it's not so different. I really don't remember when we had some kind of performance issues with Azure. From an infrastructure perspective, Azure and OCI equivalent tools. Some people prefer Azure since integrations with AD and other Microsoft tools are good.

I don't use the tool directly. Based on what my team says, from one to ten, if one is difficult and ten is easy, I rate the product's initial setup phase as a nine.

The solution is deployed on the private and public clouds. The tool is majorly deployed on a private cloud. I use the cloud services from Microsoft Azure.

The solution can be deployed in a period of two years.

For deployment in the infrastructure, we had five people who are infrastructure specialists. About twenty people needed development, and the team consisted of analysts and specialists. For infrastructure, there were five people as specialists for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Though we use too much of Azure, OCI is the biggest product for our company. Azure is managed by a medium number of people. There are five people to take care of the clouds.

The tool was deployed with the help of an in-house team. There was some help required from integrators.

The tool is very important for us to archive the information. I could use it to deploy the system.

Cost-wise, it is not an affordable tool if you allocate space, and try to use it some other day. During the billing cycle, if I use the tool only for a day, I still need to pay you for a month. The cost is not so good.

Oracle Cloud Object Storage is a nice product provided by Oracle. We use it to archive the backup. The tool serves as the first tier of backup. For our company, the tool is really fast. The cost is okay, meaning the tool is not too expensive. Cost-wise, the tool is affordable, and its high availability is very nice. I don't remember if you have some kind of problem where someone cannot retrieve the files or archive something. The tool is affordable, so it has a good price, and its availability is also good. The tool is used to back up and archive some big files.

Speaking about how the tool has improved data security and integrity, I would say that I am not too much of a technical person. As a manager, I do not take care of the direct use of the tool in our company. I have heard the people in my company talk about the tool's integration capabilities. I am not sure what kind of integrations in the tool can be improved.

Speaking about the benefits stemming from the tool's performance, I would say that the product is not so fast, but it is not too slow. It functions at a medium level for our company. You can store a link to Oracle Cloud Object Storage in another cloud, like Azure or AWS. The tool is good. In the cloud, the tool is expensive for us, so we don't use it anymore. On AWS, the tool is okay and the same as it is on other clouds. For our use cases, the tool is very nice because we don't have too much space located in the tool.

I don't know if the tool has AI. I am not sure if it has some kind of initiative related to AI. The people from the business side may want AI. For our company, we use OCI, as it is the main cloud for us, but I am not sure if it has AI.

I recommend the tool to others. The tool's ability is okay. The tool's cost and availability are good.

The integration with the other parts of the cloud is beneficial because when you use the tool's link in other parts of your site, it works very nicely. The integrations with other clouds can be made better in some points, but for us, it is okay.

I rate the tool a nine out of ten.

My usual use cases for Oracle Cloud Object Storage include a Data Lakehouse.

The features of Oracle Cloud Object Storage that I have found the most valuable are that everything is in order and structured.

If you cancel your Oracle Cloud subscription, you must delete Oracle Cloud Object Storage first. Otherwise, you won't be able to delete it and get billed forever. The solution should provide more customization and the possibility of doing more manual tasks.

The solution's deployment process is straightforward. We can use a GUI to install the solution in about three or four clicks, which takes two to five minutes. You can also use a command-line tool to install the solution using just one command.

The license for the solution depends on your agreement with Oracle. You can pay it monthly or use a pay-as-you-go model. You can also pay it upfront for one year or three years. Most customers will pay upfront for one year because they can purchase credits and use these credits for different services in the cloud. This is billed monthly, and you can pay it monthly or upfront for one year. Oracle Cloud Object Storage might not be that expensive compared to on-premises solutions.

We currently have two projects running with business continuity management. We copy the backup from one site to Oracle Cloud Storage. The solution’s performance is really good. Oracle Cloud Object Storage is a cloud-based solution. The integration of Oracle Cloud Object Storage is very good. I would recommend the solution to other users.

Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

We use it for storing and sharing any files that need re-authentication and access controls. We also use it for archiving a lot of stuff that we have – like our platform codes or specific passwords, SSH keys, and private keys. This way, we store them securely and share them properly within the services.

We use it as part of our object storage solution, and there are times when we also use it for infrastructure-as-code purposes. We can run the infrastructure stack from the bucket. 

It's also being integrated with our DevOps processes – we link code in the bucket for continuous deployment and similar tasks.

We use it for backups and disaster recovery. It depends on the budget and requirements. Disaster recovery can be expensive for some, so they sometimes opt to use a bucket for DR purposes instead.

One key feature is that you can make buckets private, requiring pre-authentication and using a specific URL for access. Additionally, the buckets are encrypted by default. The flexibility of public or private buckets and how you grant access are vital security features.

So, a strong security model is the best part of the solution. Moreover, I find the bucket itself quite user-friendly.

Sometimes, there are glitches with applying policies. Even when the policy is correct, it might not work consistently. We need to troubleshoot to see if it's a user error or if the policy itself needs adjustment. It usually works after refreshing, but that inconsistency is a minor complexity.

It is part of a project. We run the stacks from the bucket. 

I haven't encountered any major difficulties with Object Storage itself.

Currently, we don't store a massive amount of data, like images, so we're not really focused on the scalability aspect at the moment.

It's easy to manage. You can grant access to specific people, ensuring the data doesn't get into too many hands.

The installation is easy. It's not complicated. Maintaining the bucket itself is easy.

People required for the process depends on the amount of data we're storing and how many buckets we have in use.

It hasn't had a significant impact. We mainly use it for backups, like code backups, infrastructure-as-code, and storing important keys. 

We already have encryption and strict access policies in place, so it feels secure. We have a team that handles these aspects, but I don't think it has a major overall cost impact.

Disaster recovery (DR) can be expensive. It depends on individual requirements. Some users with smaller DR needs might opt to use a bucket for backup if they want to save costs.

The pricing for Object Storage could be a bit lower. It's our primary storage solution, so a slightly more affordable price would be better.

I'm still learning about other cloud platforms like AWS and Azure, which have very clean and user-friendly interfaces. Since I have more experience with Oracle, I might be a bit biased. But taking into account my technical understanding of how OCS works, it's very easy to use. 

There are just occasional glitches where results don't appear as expected and need a refresh, which is the only barrier. So overall, I'd rate it a nine out of ten.

I would advise others to be aware of the pricing structure so that they can plan the buckets and storage space accordingly. Also, the ease of access and the ability to create separate private and public buckets are important factors to consider.
