Oracle Application Express (APEX) is a very great tool that is easy to learn but hard to master. The level of entry is very low, but the longer I work with this platform, the more I understand how it works and the great things I can create. For example, I can create report graphs and handle a lot of data across many levels. It's a great application to start with, and when I have experience in Oracle databases, I can utilize Oracle Application Express (APEX) as a front-end tool for the Oracle database.

Oracle Application Express (APEX) helps me create reports and graphs by providing a plethora of out-of-the-box solutions that I can use. For example, I can upload data to and from the database, upload photos, create maps, and create various report types such as Interactive Report and Interactive Grid where I can manage, edit, and delete data. I have many solutions that are very helpful and ready to use right away from Oracle Application Express (APEX).

My favorite feature of Oracle Application Express (APEX) is the Interactive Report because it's a straightforward report that I can create using a simple query or by selecting a particular table from the database. In the action button behind it, I have many great features that I can use out of the box, including graphs and download options for Excel files. There are many sorting functionalities and accounting features. The Interactive Report is a very great tool for quickly displaying interesting data to clients.

Oracle Application Express (APEX) has positively impacted my organization by being very fast compared to other languages and products. For example, I don't have to build a site from the ground up, nor do I have to create tons of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript because Oracle Application Express (APEX) offers many built-in solutions. When I want to create a button, in another language, I would need to create it from scratch. In Oracle Application Express (APEX), I can simply use what's available out of the box. It's a very fast platform with many built-in components that I can utilize right away.

For instance, if I want to create an application for mobile or offline use, Oracle Application Express (APEX) might not be the first choice since it requires a constant connection to the database. The main use cases for Oracle Application Express (APEX) involve creating applications that work with data, specifically data-centric applications. I don't create a website with Oracle Application Express (APEX), but if I have to handle data, modify, insert, report on any sort of data graph or whatever, it's a great tool. I've used it with a number of different clients. I have it open right now.

The useful features of Oracle Application Express (APEX) are that if I have a database and therefore structured data, and I want to create an application to work with it, it's the quickest possible environment that I can do it in. There's nothing simpler. But the database has to be either Oracle or it has to be REST. That is, I have to be able to get to it via REST APIs. Those are the only two kinds of databases available. But if I do have an Oracle database, which is not that uncommon, in that case, the simplest way to build any application is with Oracle Application Express (APEX).

Managing data using Oracle Application Express (APEX) or an application built on APEX is extremely simple. It's totally custom, so anything that the client asks, I can more or less implement. The most common features are all available out of the box. If I need to change the contents of a table or get input in any form or output in any form, it's all quite simple. I've integrated in more complex situations, where getting processes to start with input was done using a QR code gun instead of manual data entry. So instead of putting in the data, they would read it using QR codes and then insert and launch processes that way. That was for a client.

One of the things that could be done to improve Oracle Application Express (APEX) is if Oracle decided to open it up to other databases. It needs to be an enterprise database; therefore, it needs to support transactions. Various other databases support transactions, SQL Server, IBM as also enterprise, but it wouldn't work with that. I've worked with it so long that I can't think of many issues, though it has the occasional bug. Oracle is very good at handling the situation when it comes up.

There aren't major issues such as huge downtimes or critical issues with Oracle Application Express (APEX). At the moment, Oracle is trying to push both the database and APEX on cloud as a policy. My experience with Oracle support is that they are helpful. However, it's a support system that has hundreds of thousands of potential clients. It's actually quite expensive because on-premise is 22% of the license cost that's repeated yearly for support, which is approximately 1/5th of what was paid originally for support.

Sometimes solving problems could take weeks, though it would end with receiving a patch. Everything is managed on a priority basis. If I open a service request and say my production system is down, it gets continuous attention 24 hours a day. If I say something isn't working too efficiently, they will get back to me, but that takes longer.

Overall, I would rate Oracle support a seven because it's a bit of a bulky system, but they manage to solve issues one way or another. I give them a seven also because the cost is quite high.
