We used to provide the license, and we used to automate their services using Blue Prism and UiPath, and then utilize the license there.

We used it for process automation. I liked the ease of installation. Generally, with OnPrem, there is always an issue with an environment or site having an issue. So, with the cloud, it's easily available. So, the on-premises model is quicker comparatively with the Internet speeds and all. But it's a good solution.

We used a couple of OCR capabilities, the optical character recognitions. It was kind of, but the OCR models that they had did not fit into our organizational thing because the requirement I had was handwritten invoices, which I had to convert to one standard language for the bot to execute. It was going to be costly. We did a POC, but the finances did not match, so we had to drop it.

We use the solution for back-office accounting automation.

It automates our accounts payable process, requiring no human interaction and saving us a hundred percent of the time.

We handle much in onboarding, legal reviews on document automation, and complete end-to-end procurement processes. These processes use Blue Prism Cloud.

Blue Prism Cloud has helped by not requiring infrastructure setup for customers to run the bots on cloud. It is also valuable for running operations in unattended mode and ensuring higher security.

We use the solution for creating reports of transactional activities. It is an RPA software.

It works really well with systems like SAP. There is no latency in the product. It also works as a cloud-based CoE. It can be used for orchestration and deciphering documents. The tool is very easy to use. It is a low-code and no-code solution. It reduces the code development time by a month. It is a very productive and powerful tool.

We use Blue Prism as well as UiPath for retrieving information from core systems such as SAP and Oracle.

Blue Prism resolves major requirements we have in terms of volumes of data and scale of data. It provides good, clean data that enhances our AI initiatives.

We were able to bridge different user types across various industries using Blue Prism Cloud and successfully implemented cross-region functionalities for a line of business within the insurance sector.

One of the most valuable features is automating manual and repetitive business processes, streamlining operations and reducing manual labour.

The corporate leverage is better with Blue Prism. Blue Prism just presents better in a large corporation. It's easier to sell suits and ties than it is sneakers and jeans in financial institutions. That's not really about the application per se; it's the perception.

I've considered other options because of how Blue Prism's product and its acquisition by ACM have shaped its direction. Blue Prism seems to be moving into a more confined space and may not be as open as UiPath.

In UiPath, the ecosystem just feels a lot broader, and there's a lot more innovation and commercial models.

With Blue Prism, everyone wants to charge for everything, whereas in UiPath, you know, the community guard. There's a lot of really good stuff and useful stuff coming out of the community guard that are solving problems because they need to be solved, not necessarily because there's a business model or a commercial model sitting behind it.

Blue Prism is definitely more about the seats and tires, whereas UiPath is for the sneakers and jeans guys.

If Blue Prism could integrate into Azure SQL because it's essentially an on-prem code, on infrastructure as a service. So, Blue Prism has moved the infrastructure into the cloud, but they haven't necessarily moved the application into cloud-native.

So, for now, integration with Azure SQL is one of the critical points for me.

Another area of improvement is pricing. The fundamental problem is that Blue Prism is essentially an on-prem solution that's been moved to the cloud by leveraging infrastructure as a service. Because Blue Prism has to license virtual machines and everything and deploy on virtual machines, which means within their cost structures, you get a little bit of benefits using virtual machines in the cloud, but you don't get the same cost benefit as if you make your software cloud-native. For example, the SQL server and its solutions are essentially using SQL instances, server instances, in the cloud. So, you essentially have to pay for the licensing of an SQL server. This is the licensing that would be associated with it. Therefore, the input costs change.
