Have you been hit by Ransomware?

One of our clients was hit by the Locky (https://nakedsecurity.sophos.c...) strain of ransomware and had over 107,000 files scrambled and encrypted.

Fortunately, since they've implemented a solid backup and recovery plan with us, we were able to get them up and running that afternoon without shelling out any bitcoins.

Have you been affected by this rash of ransomware? If so, what version were you hit by, and what did you do?

Be safe out there!

Would be nice if there was an "easy button" to recover from ransomware after the fact... guess the best equivalent of that is to maintain good backups.

Hi peers, Are you aware of a backup and recovery solution that can backup Azure machines to its own (dedicated) cloud, outside Azure? Thanks.

I once used Commvault. It can cross-backup and restore on a variety of platforms including Azure.

Without knowing the configuration of the systems to be backed up, it would be difficult to give pros and cons to the different solutions. Virtual or Physical, how much data, what type of data, what type of storage are you backing up to, do you need this data replicated off site, etc.?
