We send about 1 million emails daily, and with Mailgun as our email provider, it's going well and we are happy

What is most valuable?

Sending Emails, because it's really simple, fast, and powerful for sending emails from our CRM. Email Validation, because it allows us to validate all emails very quickly.

How has it helped my organization?

We send about one million emails daily, and with Mailgun as our email provider, it's going well and we are happy.

What needs improvement?

Campaigns Marketing: Tags and variables for setting values before sending emails. Other services, like Mailjet, have a feature for their mailing campaigns: It consists of loading a .CSV, .TXT, or an email list with columns like: "name, lastname, email, id, age, birthday, totalAmount, etc.", and configuring each column with an attribute name, so when you create a campaign, you select the template to send, the list to send, and in the template the name of the attribute is put in each section, example "{{name}}", and when sent, that is replaced by the data of the sent list. That is super useful and dynamic. Mailgun doesn't have this.

For how long have I used the solution?

Three years.

An eight out of 10.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We've previously used Mailjet and SendGrid, but Mailgun is cheap and very fast, so we are happy.

How was the initial setup?

All simple.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Mailgun is cheap, secure, fast, and simple.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Mailjet, SendGrid, and SparkPost.

Mailgun provides you with a sandbox testing domain and with a lot of details to start testing

What is most valuable?

The ability to send an email via HTTP.

How has it helped my organization?

  • Saved time to integrate
  • Can handle many emails at once

What needs improvement?

Preview of email as sent - currently, the preview is an image.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used this solution for seven months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

No, just normal email delays.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Not yet.

How are customer service and technical support?

I haven't needed to contact their support, but their documentation is enough.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I started with SendGrid - they require a lot of details to start testing. Mailgun provides you with a sandbox testing domain and with a lot of details to start testing.

How was the initial setup?

It was as simple as sending an authenticated HTTP request.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I haven't been required to pay yet because they give me 10k free emails per month, so for medium emails, it's the best choice.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

My other option was SendGrid.

What other advice do I have?

Start with Mailgun, then consider other options if it doesn't solve your particular problem.
