Reliable support guides successful high-density connectivity management
We use ExtremeCloud IQ for wireless management because it performs well in high-density areas and simplifies deployment. We appreciate the platform and support but face occasional delays in firmware upgrades. Overall, it provides significant value with easy configuration and monitoring.
What is our primary use case?
We work with some end customers, and we use
ExtremeCloud IQ for the administration of the wireless platform. We use Wi-Fi 6 E for many users.
What is most valuable?
I like the
ExtremeCloud IQ platform and the ExtremeCloud IQ co-pilots, which provide some tips for configuration of the networks. The support from Extreme is very good and helpful. Extreme access points perform very well in high-density environments, and we use them at sites with our customers. One access point can connect eight or nine clients without failure.
What needs improvement?
There is some delay in firmware upgrades for access points. When there is a problem with the firmware of one access point, the correction might be too late.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have had experience with Extreme Wireless for maybe four or five years, since Extreme acquired the wireless platform of Zebra.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The behavior of Extreme access points in high-density environments is very good. They work well without failures.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The Extreme access points handle high-density connectivity needs very well, managing lots of traffic efficiently.
How are customer service and support?
The support from Extreme is very helpful. I rate their support as a nine because they are very helpful when we need assistance and they strive to help, even if not the fastest.
How would you rate customer service and support?
How was the initial setup?
The setup is very easy for someone with experience in the wireless platform. It is very easy to deploy with basic settings taking about two to three hours.
What about the implementation team?
One person can deploy the solution. Typically, a network analyst or an infrastructure analyst handles the deployment.
What was our ROI?
The deployment process is easy, and the platform allows for easy configuration. The monitoring access and excellent support provide significant value.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing is a weak point for Extreme; it is very high. However, for clients intending to get a very good product, it is worth the cost.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate the overall solution as an eight because of the high price. On a scale of 1 to 10, my overall product rating is 8.
