Comprehensive data protection supports diverse IT environments
Vinchin Backup & Recovery supports most mainstream private cloud platforms, including VMware, Nutanix, and Microsoft Hyper-V, as well as many Chinese-based products. It supports cross-platform backup and recovery, allowing customers to back up from one platform and recover to another. The user interface is very user-friendly, making it easy for customers to understand and use. In addition to virtual machine backups, the platform supports physical server backups, file backups, and database backups. This comprehensive support allows customers to back up most IT resources, including the public cloud, within one platform.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The backups we have been receiving from Veeam Backup Replication on-premise have been good."
"One valuable feature of Veeam ONE for backup management is its dashboard, which offers a comprehensive view of backups and other essential data."
"The tool provides an easy-to-navigate feature of all the functionalities it has for its users."
"The features I find most valuable are probably the VMware snapshot backups and the Veeam replication. Their replication is very good. It can easily be used for disaster recovery in a number of situations."
"Instant Backup is an useful feature."
"Veeam ONE has proven to be a reliable tool not just for backups but also for general hypervisor management."
"Nearly all of Veeam's features are beneficial, particularly standard backup functionalities, application-specific backup capabilities, and the ability to create backups in Azure and our data center for disaster recovery purposes."
"The whole replication aspect of the solution is excellent because it compresses the data so well."
"Vinchin Backup & Recovery supports most mainstream private cloud platforms, including VMware, Nutanix, and Microsoft Hyper-V, as well as many Chinese-based products."
"The user interface is very user-friendly, making it easy for customers to understand and use."

Cons

"One common customer complaint is that Veeam, not just Veeam ONE, has become increasingly complex over time. This means that it is now very feature-rich, which can be challenging for some users to navigate and understand. There is a need for more education on how to use the GUI and all of the available features. Even regular users of Veeam may struggle to utilize the new features, which makes it more challenging for backup administrators to manage their backups. The platform is not becoming simpler, but rather, it is becoming more complicated over time."
"In Linux, I suggest you backup for a PostgreSQL database."
"Veeam Backup & Replication could improve by making it more user-friendly."
"It would be better if the solution presented the number of servers and the success rate on the dashboard."
"When you have some small issues, you should be able to go through it by yourself and solve the issue instead of opening the ticket and waiting for the engineers to troubleshoot."
"Since the solution has many options, it is not easier to give tasks to schedule it."
"The solution could improve the performance. We are not able to check the status of any system. Additionally, if there was an option to monitor server clusters it would be helpful."
"The replicating from Veeam Backup Replication to Azure cloud could be improved."
"The deduplication and compression ratio could be improved to save more space for customers."
"The deduplication and compression ratio could be improved to save more space for customers."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There is a license required for this solution and the price is a bit expensive but it depends on the environment that you have on how much it will cost."
"I think the price is good when you choose the Essentials Suite, but when you buy a full featured version (for instance the Enterprise Plus) the price is a little bit expensive."
"This is an expensive solution and came at a higher cost than expected."
"The pricing is reasonable and falls within the average range."
"A nice aspect of Veeam's pricing is that the cost benefit is good. It's very economical."
"If you have Exchange, Oracle, SQL, or a supported SAN, then I suggest getting at least an Enterprise edition. It’ll pay for itself in no time."
"The pricing of the solution could be reduced."
"The subscription-based pricing of Veeam Backup Replication is competitive."
