The gaps in the API are filled by our own R+D and the publish mechanism is very reliable.
The API is awful. We needed to develop a batch load tool in order to send automated events to Tibber API. The current API version is not well documented, i.e. the current version of the API in the software doesn't correspond to the web-documented API. We had to imagine parameters and names. We had difficulty making it all work, as the login/SSO mechanism was not properly explained so that we could perform external logins to the API and use their features.

Creates user groups and streamlines communication
I think we should have some improvements in Yammer, similar to what we have in Facebook and others, where we can have targeted communications, so that we can filter some communications to go to a specific subset of that group, not to everybody. We would love to have some AI technologies included in Yammer, but I do not have a specific use case in mind right now.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The gaps in the API are filled by our own R+D and the publish mechanism is very reliable."
"Typically the classical ROI is about seven months from full deployment, but there are a lot of benefits that we can't measure with this metric, like more dissemination of knowledge, fast internal expert finding, less internal emails, less waste of time, and better employee engagement."
"The most valuable feature of Yammer is its integration with all the services of Office 365."
"The integration with Teams is the biggest value for us. In fact, it has only become more valuable now that it has integration with Teams. Teams allows you to stream, so that's good."
"Yammer's group page functionality is useful for large groups to collaborate instantaneously."
"The most valuable aspect of the solution is that anyone can post anything, it's free and people can do it on their own without having to translate to publish, and it's really easy to use."
"Productivity can be increased as colleagues from across the world share their knowledge and experiences, reducing the need to create deliverables that may have been previously created."
"Yammer is useful since it is a product you can easily integrate into our system since Microsoft supports it."
"It is good, it works, it is reasonably easy to use."
"My organization invested a significant amount of money in the Office 365 package, and Yammer is a must if you plan to work on improving the internal communication and collaboration among your staff."

Cons

"The API is awful."
"More customizable features, particularly in mobile app; better preview of document and images stored in other cloud services (like Google Drive, Dropbox and so on)."
"There is room for improvement in the customization and administration aspects of the product."
"They need to somehow enable better document sharing features. They need to provide joint drafting of documents."
"MS made us plenty of promises for Yammer and have not delivered."
"The solution must be able to stream by itself, without integration, the same way that you are able to do it on Facebook Live, Instagram, etc. Streaming must be embedded into it."
"Integration with other Office 365 products is still weak, because Yammer initially wasn't a Microsoft product."
"Yammer should offer flexibility to allow branding without writing any code."
"The product seems to just add to the complexity of using existing tools."
"The permissions are a little bit over-complicated."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"I think that there is a need to make yearly payments towards the licensing costs of the solution."
"Yammer is a pretty cheap solution, and it's included in multiple subscriptions."
"We get it as part of our Office 365 subscriptions, so I don't think we pay any additional cost for Yammer. It's included in the Office 365 subscriptions."
"The pricing is not bad."
"Compared to other products like Amazon, Yammer's pricing is fine."
"I don't know about the pricing. Now that Microsoft has bought Yammer, it should be a part of our subscriptions for Office 365."
"Its cost is included in the license bundle for Microsoft."
