Offers endpoint protection and data loss prevention functionality
The console is in the cloud, while some of the software runs on on-prem endpoint devices. We use Seqrite Endpoint Security as an antivirus product for its data loss prevention functionality. We configure it to define the types of files that can be attached to emails, and then we receive notifications regarding these actions. Most environments have a sizable number of endpoints. Typically, such environments already have a firewall, providing first-level protection. We have two resources to provide support. I rate the overall product an eight out of ten. It has still not been deployed in large numbers, so I'm unsure if it caters to all security environments. It can reasonably care for smaller setups of around a hundred user clients. For larger numbers of users, it might require a different kind of product.

Customization capabilities allow clients to autonomously deploy policies
There are a few areas where Trellix Endpoint Security can improve. Firstly, the high CPU utilization when agents are installed can negatively impact client systems. Another issue is with end-users outside the network, where the agent handler sometimes fails to deploy the product properly. Improvements are needed in forensic analytics to detect specific vulnerabilities. It would also help if detection specifics were identified more quickly and the problem-solving process accelerated, especially to meet larger clients' expectations.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is centrally managed, easy to configure, and easy to use."
"The most valuable features are the file activity monitors, DLP solutions, and application controls."
"The most valuable part of the solution is its ransomware backup feature."
"The two valuable features are anti-ransomware and data loss protection."
"In case it works, we are looking to use features like USB blocking, file upload alerts, and other antivirus features as well, but this software has to work first."
"The most valuable feature is its endpoint protection, particularly the antivirus component. It has been very effective in protecting our clients, and since its installation, we haven't encountered any issues with compromised endpoints or virus impacts."
"Endpoint Security's best features are inventory, asset management, and quick scanning."
"The convenience has been great."
"McAfee Complete Endpoint Protection is stable. We don't have any bugs being reported."
"FireEye Endpoint Security's scalability is awesome. I think it is one of the best on that front."
"Automatic user recovery prior to Windows booting up."
"Technical support is always available and very helpful."
"It has a feature called Isolation. If a device is compromised, we can connect it to our SOC, and no one would be able to access it. This way we can limit the damage to the network while we are investigating."
"The most valuable features of the solution include DLP (data loss prevention), CASB (cloud access security broker) functionality, endpoint encryption, and cloud workload security."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is its dashboard."
"A great console with a user-friendly GUI."

Cons

"We would like the solution to have integration with other security solutions so that we can have a single base for monitoring all the security incidents and concerns."
"The solution needs to improve stability."
"It should be able to detect and report any ransomware attack but currently, it doesn't detect and it doesn't report any."
"We are using Apple devices, and the advanced device control service doesn't work for M1 chips devices, like Apple MacBooks."
"The solution's integration capabilities are moderate and could be improved."
"I don't feel that the scalability part of Seqrite Endpoint Security is better than the other products in the market."
"A handbook of known issues and quick fixes should be given so that troubleshooting and frustration are less."
"I would like to see Seqrite add a remote profile so we can implement different policies for users connecting to the in-office LAN and those accessing the office network from home or a public internet connection."
"It is a very heavy tool, unfortunately."
"The performance could be better. I noticed that it slows down a bit."
"What needs improvement in Trellix Endpoint Security is the reduction of resource consumption by the scanning feature. There should be daily signature updates for protection."
"Trellix lacked email protection when it was a McAfee product. They added this feature during the merger with FireEye, but it hasn't been fully integrated. The core features will be integrated into the next release. FireEye has several solutions for EDR and sandboxing."
"They could provide better integration capabilities for the product with other services."
"It has very good integrations. However, its integration with Palo Alto was not good, and they seem to be working on it at the backend. It is not very resource-hungry, but it can be even better in terms of resource utilization. It could be improved in terms of efficiency, memory sizing, and disk consumption by agents."
"We'd like better UI on the management screen."
"It didn't work well for some of the use cases. We have different use cases for each entity. Their support is also not good and needs improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"As per the suggestions from one of the experts we know, it is advisable to make a proper comparison with the local vendors instead of solely relying on online prices, which are often higher and quite expensive."

"The licensing fee is 200 Bangladeshi Taka per client per year."
"The license isn't expensive."
"Endpoint Security is cheaper than Trend Micro."

"Though I don't think that this is a cheaply priced product, I feel that it is an affordable solution."
"There are some extra expenses for using the product, in addition to licensing related to the maintenance of the product."
"The pricing is comparable to other solutions on the market."
"It's fairly priced compared to other products on the market."
"The tool is affordable"
"Annual license fee is good"
"Licensing is paid yearly."
"It is reasonably priced."
"We pay 650 Rand for a license. It is a perpetual license which we normally run for two years."
