Has significantly improved threat visibility and reduced false positives through intelligent bot detection and real-time analysis
The best features of Radware Cloud WAF Service that I prefer most include the bot protection. Its deployment was very smooth and flexible when I started deploying it. The reporting and visibility feature of the Bot Manager are noteworthy, as the dashboard gives clear insight into the traffic, activity, and block threats. The AI threat intelligence feature is quite impressive. In terms of blocking unknown threats and attacks, I assess Radware Cloud WAF Service as quite impressive; if I have to rate it out of 10, I would rate it eight and a half. The automated analytics for looking at events with Radware Cloud WAF Service is generally fine, and whenever we use it, it gives almost perfect results. In API protection with Radware Cloud WAF Service, we have multiple applications that we are using currently, and whenever there is any threat related to an API, it helps us provide detailed insight. Additionally, whenever there is unusual API traffic, it helps us monitor and detect threats.

Boosts Security Measures with Easy Deployment and Implementation
Regarding areas for improvement in Symantec Web Application Firewall, I think they can enhance the features they currently focus on, as there are various types of web applications, and it would be great if they could develop features to cater to all these types. For example, a feature to scan for unauthorized plugins or extensions could let us know if those extensions are authorized, unauthorized, or malicious. There's room for improvement in Symantec Web Application Firewall by introducing AI into their dashboard so that we can query the dashboard and fetch data insights, similar to querying ChatGPT for answers. They currently have this feature but can make improvements for better querying to get insights.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Radware Cloud WAF Service is quite effective for blocking unknown threats and attacks, and it has the capability to analyze behavioral patterns, which allows them to implement preventive measures."
"Radware Cloud WAF Service has several valuable features, with good support and a user-friendly GUI."
"It provides the first level of defense against external threats trying to come into the environment, but it's one of the many toolkits we use."
"With the current visibility dashboard, we can now obtain insight into the nature of attacks, identify attackers, and detect top IP or threat regions."
"Radware Bot Manager has been very useful. If any user tries to save a password on a mobile or a browser, it blocks that. We can see all the details about the traffic and port requests."
"It integrates seamlessly with our infrastructure, allowing us to manage DDoS attacks and load balancing efficiently."
"The isolation feature is the most important one because everything is going directly to Radware first and then it goes into our system. What we get is the filtered version of everything that would otherwise come directly to us."
"I highly recommend this product to others because I'm satisfied with the mitigation and proactive protection."
"The interface is user-friendly."
"The best feature of Symantec Web Application Firewall is that it is very easy to use, and the deployment and implementation processes are really easy."
"The solution has an up-to-date data repository to deal with external threats."
"It provides us with a sense of security."
"The setup was straightforward."
"This product is doing what it should and what we are expecting from it."

Cons

"The primary area for improvement is in issue detection and understanding whether a log is a false positive. It can sometimes be a challenge to take the data of a given security event and determine if it's a genuine threat using a Wiki etc."
"The dashboard of Radware Cloud WAF Service has room for improvement. While it works effectively, it can feel complex and might need some initial guidance, but once users become familiar with it, the operation becomes smooth."
"To make Radware Cloud WAF Service even more useful for my organization, I believe there should be greater integration with other tools, such as log tools."
"In some cases, if the configuration of rules is too strict or complex, there might be a possibility that genuine traffic gets blocked or considered a false positive."
"The integration part could be better."
"API integration and documentation need to be improved. There should be more detailed documentation for API usage, rate limiting, CNAME, and DDoS functions. A lot of articles need to be added to their portal."
"Radware's bot manager can be improved because it's very complicated to implement for apps. Radware could also add alerts by WhatsApp or Telegram. It only sends notifications via email or SMS."
"In Radware Cloud WAF Service, areas for improvement include behavioral and anomaly detection, where it could be better by reducing false positives. The"
"On a scale from one to 10, I would give it a five. I'm not convinced that it's necessarily the best solution going forward in the future."
"There's room for improvement in Symantec Web Application Firewall by introducing AI into their dashboard so that we can query the dashboard and fetch data insights, similar to querying ChatGPT for answers."
"One of our issues is that sometimes scanning slows down the endpoints."
"It would be an improvement if the management dashboards were not reliant upon Java."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We are based in El Salvador and don't have a direct license with Radware; we purchase the license through resellers. The pricing is reasonable, as I managed an Akamai product in a previous position, and Cloud WAF is competitively priced."
"When compared to Akamai and F5, Radware's pricing and licensing are highly competitive."
"For the current market, the price for Radware Cloud WAF Service is exactly where we want it to be."
"I am not directly involved in pricing and setup cost discussions, but it seems that Radware offers a more cost-effective solution compared to F5. It is considered a good value for our budget."
"We are paying $20,000 annually for six licenses that provide basic WAF functionality."
"The price is a bulk average."
"If you plan to deploy Cloud WAF, keep in mind that the product is priced based on the megabits of traffic that pass through and the number of transactions. You should get your requirements correct up front. The active attackers feed and CDN services cost extra, so you need to negotiate these features upfront."
"Radware Cloud WAF Service falls within a mid-range price bracket compared to other web application firewall solutions."
