Has connected financial data across departments and improved future cash flow planning
I would like to improve the integration with other solutions, as I need everything integrated, like the HR module, purchase module, SCM, production, and engineering. Each and every module should be connected to the finance module, and I think Oracle provides the right solution. Also, SAP, IFS, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 offer some solutions, but I am not as happy with them as I am with Oracle. I believe that Oracle E-Business Suite could improve by transitioning from Java-based scripts in our system to a web-based environment. While Oracle already has JD Edwards available in web-based format, I think it needs to be smoother for optimization and presentation in the future. In comparison, IFS is fully web-based, and all applications are sufficiently good and user-friendly. We are developing and trying to improve to a web-based setup, but it is currently too costly.

The self-service helps increase employee loyalty
The reporting could use some improvement. It doesn't shorten the data that it displays to the employee. At the moment you have to scroll through all of the results in order to find what you are looking for. Another improvement that should be implemented in the next release is the appraisal. For the appraisal model, we have to go to another solution because the one included is not supporting us in our needs.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It was very easy to integrate the product into our existing infrastructure."
"I would definitely encourage anybody to start using the E-Business Suite as an ERP solution."
"Oracle E-Business Suite is very stable, and Oracle is continuously patching, upgrading, and reporting any changes or security issues, which contributes greatly to the stability of the solution."
"The solution has other core processes that can be implemented with customers according to their needs."
"What we like about Oracle E-Business Suite is that we didn't find any issues with it. In the Indian market, the subscription solutions aren't that suitable, even in terms of the complexity of the regulations, taxes, etc., so that's why we had to go for an on-premise solution that's hosted on the cloud, and we're happy with Oracle E-Business Suite. We also like that Oracle E-Business Suite is quite flexible, and we've also built some bolt-ons and they're working fine."
"As we have been using this for the past nine years we have had the opportunity to explore the product. Really everything has worked well and all the modules are very good."
"At our various customers, the software tends to pay for itself in less than two years."
"Accessing vital information on the dashboard: I can customize summarized reports to be available on the dashboard."
"This solution increases the employees' loyalty to the organization since everything regarding their salary, health, insurance, etc. is there, and the employees can also check to see what activity is done on their files."

Cons

"The support site is the only bad thing I've seen with Oracle. Unless you type in the exact right words, you don't get the right answers."
"Oracle has always had one drawback and that is that it's not as user friendly as it's competitors, whether from the database perspective or switching from SAP to Oracle."
"Improvements could be made in mobility for mobile applications or tablets."
"Our biggest problem with this solution is the user interface."
"Upgrading is a nightmare. I mean, I shouldn’t describe it as a nightmare, but I get nervous whenever they upgrade."
"The user interface is not completely a web interface, it uses a lot of traffic which costs too much for a large number of users scattered throughout the country as they connect from their terminals to do their tasks."
"Technical support is not the best and we have to keep pushing. There have been a lot of times when we keep calling to get prompt support or escalations to a manager in order to get better support."
"Organizational restructuring is a horrible process and very difficult in EBS."
"The reporting could use some improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Oracle's licenses are not straightforward."
"We have an annual license to use the Oracle E-Business Suite and we have an enterprise license."
"Oracle generally gives a lot of discounts."
"At our various customers, the software tends to pay for itself in less than two years."
"In order to minimize the implementation and consultancy costs, business lines should have proper definitions. They need to have a proper way of retrieving their data, which should be structured well."
"The pricing of Oracle E-Business Suite is too high."
"The licensing cost of Oracle E-Business Suite is quite competitive. It's quite flexible, so it can be adapted to the requirements of my company. For confidentiality purposes, I'm unable to disclose how much Oracle E-Business Suite costs, but I'm rating its cost as eight out of ten."
"There is an annual licensing fee and you are able to add features depending on the scope of the environment."
