The self-service helps increase employee loyalty
The reporting could use some improvement. It doesn't shorten the data that it displays to the employee. At the moment you have to scroll through all of the results in order to find what you are looking for. Another improvement that should be implemented in the next release is the appraisal. For the appraisal model, we have to go to another solution because the one included is not supporting us in our needs.

I have just completed three assessments: one on inventory demand planning, another on using artificial intelligence to bring supplier contracts in portable document format directly into PeopleSoft. PeopleSoft works both internally as well as with third-party products that integrate seamlessly with PeopleSoft. PeopleSoft operates both from a need-to-know-only basis as well as being able at the same time to do group purchase and realize large quantity purchase discounts. My clients have used marketplaces, and it is really industry-specific whether they use one or not, or if there is even one available. I would rate this product nine out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"This solution increases the employees' loyalty to the organization since everything regarding their salary, health, insurance, etc. is there, and the employees can also check to see what activity is done on their files."
"Its user interface is impressive."
"The breadcrumb approach to navigation in PeopleSoft is good. nVision is also a good supplement."
"This is a good product and I recommend it, although it depends on the use case for the business."
"The time system is what we get the most benefit from."
"In general, this solution is user-friendly and also performs well."
"The synchronization of business processes, and the software, streamlined the shared service departments to run 40% leaner."
"I've worked with HR, payroll, benefits, time and labor, health and safety, and every module. I've also worked on different modules for the education, health, and financial sectors. My 25 years of experience cover different industries and implementations. I've also worked in the public sector, which is a bit different. I implemented PeopleSoft for the state of Massachusetts, covering 168 schools, colleges, and universities."
"If the organization has a sufficient budget and wants to manage talent and support business objectives, then this is the answer."

Cons

"The reporting could use some improvement."
"Oracle PeopleSoft HCM is one of the most expensive systems in the HCM area, so if the organization has budget limitations, then I would not recommend this system."
"We've had to build all our data warehouses and datamarts in order for PeopleSoft to do the detailed reporting that we need."
"My advice to those thinking about implementing this solution is it is a dying technology."
"There are a couple of areas for improvement, including better overall performance as well as an even quicker update process so that we have as minimal downtime as possible."
"I wasn't part of the team that originally implemented it, but I was involved in upgrades. I think it was extremely difficult."
"The learning and development side of the product is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"Tools and UI could be enhanced."
"Often support just asks people to install a lot of upgrades. Sometimes they don't really give you clear details as to why you need to upgrade. They just say, "You need to upgrade this because there's a newer image, etc". They never really give you the reason underlying why you are having errors."
