Data restoration is the most valuable feature.
If I access my documents from the mobile app, I am also able to share these documents with accounts in other apps such as email, WhatsApp, Dropbox, google drive, etc. What I'd like is to be able to share a document or folder with other Mozy accounts (users), with limits of either under the same admin domains or even with other domains.

Backup operations have become reliable and reporting now simplifies hybrid cloud protection
Veeam Data Platform has Veeam Enterprise Manager as well as Veeam ONE as valuable features, which allow us to generate various kinds of reports that are required for the customer. Instant VM Recovery is a good feature of the high-speed recovery features in Veeam Data Platform, and Continuous Data Protection (CDP) is also a good feature. Ransomware protection is a good feature added in Veeam Data Platform from version 12 onwards, and the ability to create immutable repositories is also a good feature in Veeam. The analytics part of Veeam Data Platform is a good solution because I have worked on various backup technologies such as EMC NetWorker and NetBackup. However, I have not used the analytical parts currently but will check it out. Streamlining processes as well as saving money are benefits that Veeam Data Platform provides for the end user, as it allows for application-aware backups and database backups without the need for various kinds of licenses that other backup software requires. Veeam offers socket-based licenses, instance-based licenses, and capacity-based licenses, which is a great feature.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I've had good experience with the Mac backup client running silently and keeping files backed up."
"I was using Symantec Backup Exec, and we switched because Mozy is easier to use, and the cost is less."
"The data restoration feature is the most valuable because the end user requires minimum support to recover lost data."
"The ability to kick start the service live on the users machine; I also like the graphical representations of data space."
"The most valuable feature is the instant recovery."
"It's scalable."
"We are using this solution to back up all of the critical VMs and the critical server."
"Very reliable and easy to use."
"It serves its intended purpose and it works well, it integrates very well, and I believe it is an excellent product for us."
"Instant VM Recovery provides very fast recovery of our critical VMs."
"Veeam is the gold standard for backup and recovery."
"The main feature for Veeam is that it's built primarily for virtualization, such as VMware or Hyper-V."

Cons

"The support staff were directed to give support on specifics and to stick to the support plan; anything out of the ordinary would be a challenge."
"Automated client deployment was not straightforward and never worked for me."
"The sales support is too poor and there is no point of contact, local representatives are not in positions to assist or even provide a proposal."
"The selection of directories and files to back up can't be managed centrally, it has to be set on each user's computer."
"I think Veeam ONE should be included in the base product instead of as an add-on because customers tend to look for simple solutions that are integrated."
"It would be helpful if there was something that could assist you in managing the database more effectively."
"I feel the price is a bit high"
"Veeam has more features than we actually use, for example, the virtual labs."
"Part of the issue we've had is with the AIX backup."
"Technical support is not so good: Communication issues due to language differences and slow responses."
"Pricing can be improved."
"If you have a simple environment, Veeam is useful, but when it comes to scalability and you have a more complex environment, it isn't a good solution for advanced customers that want business continuity or have more complex data centers."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Veeam Data Platform, it's pay-as-you-go. So, the more options you choose, the more consumption you have in monthly billing."
"We purchase a license annually."
"I would say that the product is fairly priced."
"I rate the pricing a five, depending on the application and environment."
"Veeam is more reasonably priced than some competing products."
"The pricing and licensing is better than the competitors, but it could be better."
"We dont have the exact licensing costs, but we pay for a comprehensive service package that includes technical support, cloud services, and data center services. There may be additional costs beyond the standard license, but I'm not sure about the specifics. However, I believe the yearly cost is around five thousand dollars."
"I think the price is good when you choose the Essentials Suite, but when you buy a full featured version (for instance the Enterprise Plus) the price is a little bit expensive."

VMware SRM vs. Veeam vs. Zerto
Disaster recovery planning is something that seems challenging for all businesses. Virtualization in addition to its operational flexibility, and cost reduction benefits, has helped companies improve their DR posture. Virtualization has made it easier to move machines from production to…
