Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Has helped automate repetitive tasks and streamline content summarization across teams
For analytics, I prefer using the Power BI platform instead of Microsoft Copilot Studio. When it comes to analytics, though it gives the right insight, the visuals are not of great quality, or sometimes they don't appear at all. For instance, when creating charts of sales on a quarter-on-quarter basis or month-on-month basis in a bar graph or pie chart, Microsoft Copilot Studio doesn't perform adequately. Anything requiring image creation or graphs and plots is not optimal. The graphing features are missing in Microsoft Copilot Studio. Although image creation is available, it lags at times, similar to any other LLM module. When creating content based on graphs or CIO presentations, these features are not developed to a great extent.

No-code workflows have streamlined daily operations and support seamless cross-application automation
Microsoft Power Automate's no-code workflows help my team in daily operations to a great extent. Automating a particular activity may not be so useful, but when you connect the whole workflow, then it starts helping a lot. I cannot say much about the best features in Microsoft Power Automate because I have not used it personally, but first of all, it is very easy, it is a low-code platform, and Microsoft has a lot of integration with Microsoft technologies, making it very easy to connect with MS Teams and different Microsoft products, including MS Azure. From that point of view, it provides a lot of connectivity options. From a cost point of view, Mendix is much more costly compared to Microsoft Power Platform, allowing us to develop applications very quickly.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"In my case in particular, I come from a business background, not an IT background. So, it sort of speaks for itself that I was able to pickup its functionality and how it works. In the space of two years time, I've gone from a junior developer to a senior specialist. So, it really speaks for itself in terms of being user-friendly."
"We had some business users who created their first bot four weeks back, and they were thrilled; it was very easy for them because of the drag and drag, and they understood the process very well."
"This is a great platform, and we are implementing the logic into the bots that they are using to automate."
"It is very easy for anybody to learn."
"IQ Bot is very helpful as it is easy to learn and implement and the data output accuracy is almost 90%."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the MetaBot, which gives you the power to add many DLLs and customize them for the automation."
"I love its reliability, ease of use, and the vast customer support that are always present to help us."
"The initial setup was straightforward. It is a very guided experience: out-of-the-box with Automation Anywhere University training."
"Microsoft Copilot Studio has helped enhance my development process quite a lot."
"We have achieved approximately 60 to 70% productivity gain using Microsoft Copilot Studio."
"The integration part in Microsoft Copilot Studio is something I really appreciate because it's very easy to integrate with anything, and the main reason we chose this Studio is its simplicity in developing and building workflows and interconnecting things, especially when it comes to public cloud; life is quite easy."
"The use case involves intelligent code assistance, UI, UX, and integration parts."
"Starting with Microsoft Copilot Studio for product projects, especially for POC and MVP, accelerates the creation and demonstration to clients, helping them interact with and understand the solution before discussing further improvements."
"The solution is great for some of our backend processes, for example, accounting and financial processes, and also for IT batch processes."
"Instead of manually triggering payments through the website, everything was done through robotic process automation (RPA), saving us a lot of time."
"The most valuable feature of Microsoft Power Automate is the many functionalities, and ease of use. We had summer interns from college in their second year of engineering and they were able to start the building process quickly within a day."
"The best feature of the tool is that it is generic, so it allows one to do as he wishes."
"Using WinAutomation helps us to reduce our resource costs."
"We are able to see high returns thanks to having few machines with minimal implementation costs."
"The solution offers a lot of documentation and tutorials for users to learn about various aspects and features."
"WinAutomation is very handy to use, and it has the power to interact with multiple systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or .NET systems."

Cons

"IQ Bot is pretty good, but we can only run a maximum 150 documents."
"They continue to release new features, but end users struggle to adapt to them."
"I could not say it's a stable product, because when you move in the market, there are many companies are there."
"New versions keep coming up. The challenge for us is to have the downtime to do the migrations. This could be improved upon. We would like fewer version changes and upgrades happening to the application. While the downtime is not that much, depending on the business processes, there are times few critical processes are running on a daily or hourly basis. We would expect the downtime to be even less for them."
"There should be more organized training sessions. I prefer interactive classes to one-on-one training. You can create super users and organize conferences or workshops where users can learn from experts. Maybe you only have a few of these super users in your organization, so that's why you need to have workshops on a weekly basis."
"It is good for standard procedures with an SOP. For those, it works well. But there are processes that are tricky and need human intervention and intelligence. In those cases, the process gets stuck."
"One of the things that the product should have is to add more advanced level developer capabilities into the platform. I know it is easy for business, non-technical people. However, for the developers, there should be some more features within the product so they can build advanced level use cases much faster."
"If I want to do something that is more purely business-related and is somewhat complex to write or is nuanced, I sometimes have trouble implementing that inside of the Automation Anywhere script. I feel limited at times with some of the looping and some of the branching and some of the ways to make procedure calls when I have a complex business issue."
"I feel that the pricing and licensing methods of Microsoft Copilot Studio are not very conducive."
"While Microsoft Copilot Studio can create documents and add information, it does not do so accurately, and this is an area that needs improvement."
"The price for Microsoft Copilot Studio can definitely be improved, as small organizations find it very difficult to manage the subscription."
"For analytics, I prefer using the Power BI platform instead of Microsoft Copilot Studio."
"From an improvement perspective, Microsoft just needs to make sure that they have a real enterprise RPA tool."
"For countries in our region, it's not very well known."
"Use it for basic workflows, but I wouldn't recommend it for anything that is mission-critical."
"How long it takes to deploy will depend on how confident you are with your development. The development itself is not easy."
"Microsoft Power Automate could improve by offering recurring execution on the desktop."
"Its licensing model should be improved. The pricing should be more visible and transparent. When you consume services, there are too many criteria to figure out how much it is going to cost you to use the product to its full extent. It should also support visual process editing, which is a standard feature for BPMN 2.0 compliance. They should improve the visual designer."
"Power Automate cannot handle high end projects and, from a developer's perspective, it's a little difficult for enterprise size companies."
"It would be great if it was able to integrate more with various other platforms. It would make development easier."

Pricing and Cost Advice
