Unified data storage has simplified building RAG pipelines and has reduced ongoing costs
I have been comparing many different similar products for storing embedded vectors, and I would say one advantage of Supabase Vector is that pgvector is embedded into Postgres, which makes it convenient for business use cases because we do not need to manage another data source. Having pgvector embedded into Postgres helps our business use cases specifically as it is a very convenient way. We have Supabase basically as the host of most of our business relational database and user data, so since the client's applications are migrating to language model-empowered features, it is very useful, and we do not need to register for other database types. Supabase Vector has positively impacted our organization as it is very convenient since our business databases are already hosted in Supabase, making integration easy. This convenience has led to measurable outcomes, as we also tried to use Pinecone and Weaviate, where we need to facilitate extra costs for storing the vectors. Now, since our business databases are already in Supabase, we only need to deal with one bill.
