I think we should have some improvements in Yammer, similar to what we have in Facebook and others, where we can have targeted communications, so that we can filter some communications to go to a specific subset of that group, not to everybody. We would love to have some AI technologies included in Yammer, but I do not have a specific use case in mind right now.

Pros

"We have had success with deploying Newsgator's social functionality on top of our SharePoint environment."
"Social communications that allows us to engage employees and to shorten communication cycles using social network techniques."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the communication events."
"External collaboration with partners: There is a unified way to send updates about departments and the enterprise, rather than sending separate communications."
"The product's initial setup phase was straightforward."
"From the point of view of knowledge sharing, we created a group per project, and while we had SharePoint for storing documentation, we were able to link to these and give them content in Yammer."
"The integration with Teams is the biggest value for us. In fact, it has only become more valuable now that it has integration with Teams. Teams allows you to stream, so that's good."
"Co-workers feel comfortable creating groups for collaboration, communication, and non-work related, personable groups."
"Increased collaboration between geographically distributed teams."
"The solution was stable."

Cons

"The OOB user interface should be enhanced to be more user-friendly and responsive."
"Need to improve their mobile / smartphone apps by adding more functionality."
"We had some scalability issues."
"However, it was mostly slow, clunky, and frustrating to use."
"I think we should have some improvements in Yammer, similar to what we have in Facebook and others, where we can have targeted communications, so that we can filter some communications to go to a specific subset of that group, not to everybody."
"I would rate the stability of Yammer as six out of ten."
"Ability to edit posts and also rich text would be good. Currently, unlike other social tools like Facebook at Work and Chatter, Yammer does not have the ability to edit posts."
"The permissions are a little bit over-complicated."
"Microsoft should work on templating and provide some built-in templates so that the changes can automatically roll out to all the configured communities."
"Yammer should include more integrations."
