Collaborative features improve task management and project tracking
All the business areas are comfortable with JIRA Portfolio. JIRA Portfolio has many features that we have not yet explored or utilized fully, but the power of JIRA Portfolio at this moment for the several areas in the business has been a very comfortable experience. The cloud accessibility and quick task creation capabilities make collaborating with the tool a great feature for working with my team. Users can assign tasks to one or two people who can collaborate and document their work. That feature is amazing in terms of collaboration. While the tool does not currently support meetings, if JIRA Portfolio incorporates meeting functionality in the future, it would greatly enhance the process, especially for tasks requiring teams from different areas.

It streamlined our project management and resource management process.
I think the functionality with the reporting capability can be improved and I know there's a new version of KeyedIn coming out. I haven't had the opportunity yet to look at the new version, but I would say that reporting is actually one are for improvement. The way their functionality is set could be improved because, basically, what it does is: you can pull a resourcing report and you can pull a financial report, and it seems like they pull from different databases. You're not always able to compile all the data into one report. You have to pull separate reports to look at different data. That's one thing that I found that has been kind of hard with KeyedIn, because you can't view all the data you want into one report. It's not that flexible. You have to work with two separate reports in order to come to look at the data that you want. I would say that's one area for improvement: You're just not able to filter all the same data into one report. I'm also looking for integration here. Integration with, for example, a BI platform. We're implementing a BI platform here. I know that in KeyedIn, there's no real data connector that connects straight – although you can still connect via API - but KeyedIn does not have a data connector right now. I talk to the rep each week and that's something that I think would be a big win for KeyedIn. If it had a data connector already, it would be easier to integrate with other platforms.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is very powerful and the underlying structure of it is well done. The company behind the solution is very open as far as their whole ecosystem is concerned. They also do a lot of work in the training area."
"The solution is very stable."
"Its stability is very reliable."
"The product's centralized database creates a single source of data for working groups so no data needs to be reconciled."
"What I like about the product is its extensive features, particularly the wide set of attributes for tracking issues. Jira Portfolio allows us to track not only the overall project but also specific components within it. This is beneficial for all stakeholders, including developers and business owners. For example, business stakeholders can track all issues, regardless of status."
"Portfolio's best feature is integration with other JIRA products."
"The most valuable feature is that it fits very well into an agile framework, and it is especially helpful with the planning aspects."
"Jira Portfolio is useful for tracking time and hours. It's easy to manage, create tickets, and change the status of delivery reports. It's not complicated."
"It is a practical and useful tool which benefits both us and our clients."

Cons

"It would be nice if it could provide an end-to-end solution for a project."
"Some key features like integration, big data warehousing and data modeling need work."
"Portfolio is easy to scale, but we've had some difficulties with it regarding compliance and support."
"I think that front-end development is a little bit buggy in some cases. Some of the features take a while to respond and some need to be more clear."
"We had to use assistance for the initial setup."
"We are using the on-premise deployment, but it is slower and not as easy to manage as the cloud version."
"The query features should improve in JIRA Portfolio. For example, if I would have to create my own queries for looking into something such as what business features we have released last month, or the last three months, I don't know if I can do it. The solution requires a certain level of expertise."
"The solution's look and feel could be a bit more intuitive and user friendly."
"It was more complicated than it needed to be, but with a KeyedIn implementation manager it was not an issue."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"On a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive, I rate the pricing a six."
"We pay our fees annually, although monthly payments are also available."
"When we first got the tool, it cost 3,000 euros a year for unlimited users, which was a great deal. But the prices kept going up over the years. I'm not involved with pricing anymore, but I heard they increased a lot, so we decided to stop using it."
"I use the free version for personal use."
"We have a license to use JIRA Portfolio, we are not using the free version."
"The product is really not very expensive."
"The price could be improved."
"I do not believe that the product provides value for money since I feel that it is quite expensive."
