Enables management of multiple operating systems with a single license
The best feature is that it's a Microsoft product, so if anything goes wrong, we get quick support for anything required. Remote system functionality allows us to sit anywhere and take control of any device via remote management. We can enhance security for clients' laptops with built-in Microsoft Defender, which is available with the Microsoft Intune license. We use it for reporting purposes through endpoint analytics. When pushing scripting, there are two types available: remediation script and reservation script. Through endpoint analytics, you can push defender policies to clients. It helps with reporting, inventory updates, and monitoring tenant status health.

Efficient patch and asset management with room for reporting enhancements
One of the best things about Ivanti Endpoint Manager is that the agents it uses are very lightweight, so they don’t slow down our systems. It also gives us great visibility during deployments—we can see exactly what’s happening and collect all the necessary data. The system shows us codes that help us understand what’s going on in each environment. For example, every month we roll out patches, and monitoring is a big part of that. We can check the status of each machine without having to log into them individually. It also helps us troubleshoot issues by showing the exact error codes, which makes fixing problems much easier. Ivanti also lets us organize our servers and devices in a way that makes sense for us—by operating system, group, or IP address. This helps us manage everything more efficiently. Patching is one of our main tasks, and Ivanti gives us detailed information about each patch. Another great part is the training and support Ivanti offers. The training helps us learn how to use all the features, and the support team is always there when we need help. Since we work in a large environment, Ivanti is a great fit—it’s built to handle big setups and makes it easy to group and manage everything. We even use it to deploy our own in-house apps, not just third-party software.

Effective vulnerability, desktop, and patch management
We are using ManageEngine Endpoint Central primarily for desktop management. It allows us to deploy patches, manage antivirus, control endpoints like DLP, and more The most valuable feature to me is the vulnerability management. It also has effective patch management capabilities. The main issue…

Pros

"Implementing Microsoft Intune has provided a more streamlined and consistent method for device management across our multiple domains, effectively consolidating our administrative efforts."
"Autopilot is the most valuable feature."
"It is very easy to use. It has a very easy interface."
"Dynamic groups allow us to set conditions for automatic membership, eliminating the need for user intervention or manual review and ensuring a seamless workflow."
"Microsoft Intune is far more efficient and faster than MECM."
"We like Intune's Autopilot functionality, which enables one-touch deployment. Dynamic grouping is another feature we find valuable working in academia. We have people in buckets based on their roles in the university, such as faculty, staff, alum, or grad. Sometimes, they will fit into multiple places, and dynamic grouping helps with that."
"The ability to work from all over the planet is valuable. You just need a functioning and working Internet connection."
"We can securely manage both company-owned devices and personal devices enrolled in our BYOD program."
"Ivanti Endpoint Manager has served us well over the years, supporting operating systems from Windows XP to Windows 10."
"The most beneficial aspect of Ivanti Endpoint Manager is that it is cost-friendly."
"The product saves time and money."
"The most beneficial aspect of Ivanti Endpoint Manager is that it is cost-friendly."
"The best features of Ivanti Endpoint Manager are that the agents are very light, and the deployment monitoring is very good."
"Ivanti is a great product from a security perspective."
"Desktop Central has improved these organizations and this is why it has been repeated multiple times at multiple organizations. If something works and is getting better it is worth repeating."
"We use the product to know about our assets and manage remote support."
"ManageEngine Desktop Central automatically alerts you if there are newer releases or updates. You do not have to go to their website and check."
"ManageEngine Endpoint Central is straightforward to use and implement."
"Identification of gaps and filling the gaps with updates are most valuable. We are able to identify known updates or missing updates and then update."
"The patch manager is good, and it's easy to use."
"In terms of technical capability, it is doing very well. It is doing better than other industry products. It is at a place where we can compare it with Microsoft products. Its scalability is also good."
"Very good, functional solution for endpoint management."

Cons

"The installation is very easy. However, to be able to configure it you will need special knowledge, such as training or self-studies to have a proper level of security. There are many settings one has to understand before being able to implement Microsoft Intune."
"I rate Microsoft support between six to eight. The support often involves third parties hired by Microsoft who are knowledgeable, but sometimes the help I receive is not adequate."
"At the moment, we need more flexibility. We have some offices migrating to Windows 11 remotely. Sometimes, it is difficult to manage image installation because we have to collect some information before starting image deployment. Currently, Intune cannot collect the information needed for deploying new images."
"There have been instances where enrolling devices should take 10 minutes but ends up taking an hour due to various issues."
"While the ability to deploy applications at startup is reliable, the policy-based application deployment method has not reached the same level of consistency."
"Once it's configured it is unobtrusive, but it does take some hands-on to configure and deploy it properly."
"Intune should improve its software inventory to provide better metering of which software is used throughout the company. This is especially needed for reporting third-party software solutions."
"Customer service used to be better. In the last couple of years, support has not been very good, even with Premier and Premium support. It's been very hit-or-miss."
"The reporting functionality and user interface could be improved. The options to generate reports should be more dynamic rather than static."
"Ivanti Endpoint Manager is not user-friendly and feels outdated, which affects usability."
"Setting up the solution on-premises is difficult and needs improvement."
"The product's implementation process is in areas of concern where improvements are required."
"When it comes to the reporting part, it needs to be improved. The executive reports and the deployment reports can be more improvised."
"The support could be faster."
"The team I've currently got is not using it particularly well, due to the fact that they don't know how to use it particularly well. They've not done any training and so on."
"The reports provided by the product are an area of concern where improvements are required. The visibility provided by the reports is not very attractive."
"The team should work on improving the stability, particularly with massive patches deployment, clients are not 100% getting patches and the information provided by the system does not help; more detailed report would be very useful."
"The performance sometimes lags a bit because the solution is demanding on system resources."
"The solution should be better at integrating with other solutions."
"Compared to the solution we use to manage our Mac products, this solution lacks the ability to create dynamic groups. We would like the ability, for example, for machines which have been upgraded to form part of a grouping based on this upgrade."
"The pricing could be a bit better."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"As a partner, we always look for how we can generate more revenue from a consulting point of view, but I do not see any complaints from the customer side regarding pricing, so they are satisfied with it."
"Intune is moderately expensive. You can get the license bundled with Office 365 E3 or E5 licenses. The E5s are a bit expensive, but you get some cheaper solutions with Intune."
"Microsoft Intune's costliness stems from licensing fees and the overhead associated with its management, user experience, and device remediation."
"Every customer used to purchase licenses based on their needs."
"With our standard E5 agreement with Microsoft, there have been no pricing concerns. Introductory professional services, like a fast-track service, were included with our E5 membership, and there have been no additional costs."
"While Microsoft charges for actual usage, it lacks discount options."
"It's bundled with Business Premium and an E3 license, which is beneficial. If you have to pay extra, it's pricey, but with the bundled package, it's acceptable. They recently increased the Business Premium pricing, which we don't appreciate. The price increase and yearly commitment are causing some problems for us."
"Consider the Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Suite rather than choosing specific sub-components, e.g. only Microsoft Intune."
Information not available
"Could provide more services on the standard license"
"The pricing of the product is not bad compared to the other similar solutions in the market."
"Choose wisely between the Professional and Enterprise editions, based on your needs."
"The solution is very affordable."
"The product is cheap."
"We had perpetual licenses. The cost was around 36,000, and then you'd have the yearly maintenance fee of 2,000 or 3,000."
"The pricing is average."
"I have been using the free version and am in the stage where I have to decide if I will proceed with the paid license, or instead choose another product."
