Sentiment score
5.6
Ivanti Endpoint Manager efficiently scales and manages growth for mid-sized and large organizations with robust support and adaptability.
The scalability of Microsoft Intune is ten out of ten.
Ideally, we want to automatically segregate devices based on user properties like primary use, but currently, dynamic groups seem limited to device properties.
It supports organizations with 200 endpoints and those with more than 15,000 endpoints.
BigFix requires some minimum configuration requirements.
I rate the scalability of Ivanti Endpoint Manager around seven to eight because it offers options to manage the devices effectively, requiring only the addition of licenses.
Ivanti Endpoint Manager is indeed scalable.

7.1
Ivanti Endpoint Manager is stable and reliable, with minimal downtime, effective compliance, but requires regular updates for optimal performance.
We have not experienced downtime, bugs, or glitches.
It appears Microsoft Intune undergoes changes without informing customers.
Microsoft Intune has been very stable.
Regarding stability and reliability, I have never seen the server go down or any functionality taken offline.
Due to the large number of devices in our environment, when we load the console for the first time, it takes a while to update the database.
For stability, once you get the system up and running, it's consistently stable without any lagging, crashing, or downtime.

Room For Improvement

Microsoft Intune needs improved reporting, faster policy deployment, automation, enhanced integration, and better support for BYOD and non-Microsoft systems.
BigFix needs updated documentation, UI improvements, enhanced integration, better patch support, and improved automation and scalability.
Ivanti Endpoint Manager needs UI enhancements, easier integration, better reporting, improved support, and enhanced compatibility with Active Directory.
Features like unlocking devices sometimes fail, and the support offered for other operating systems is insufficient.
There are communication issues, so you might start working with a feature without knowing if it will be deprecated six months from now.
Many third-party companies offer single-pane-of-glass reporting that shows you what your update environment looks like, how your patch is doing, application status, etc., but Intune's reporting is not intuitive.
Building a management console is quick and simple, taking only one to two hours for setup.
The problem was related to the hardware configuration and hardware specifications.
In addition to reporting improvements, there should be a feature for application control to allow or disallow certain applications from being executed on endpoints.
It lacks features like easy connection to remote computers and has a complicated software deployment process.
I would suggest improvements in the console interface of the Ivanti Endpoint Manager as it appears outdated, reminiscent of the early 2000s.
When we offboard a user, sending the wipe command or lock command is slightly slower than Workspace ONE.

Setup Cost

Microsoft Intune is seen as cost-effective, offering significant savings when bundled with Microsoft 365 and EMS licenses.
BigFix offers flexible, competitive pricing options with various packages and potential discounts, despite additional costs like database licenses.
Ivanti Endpoint Manager offers economical on-premises pricing, flexibility in modular licensing, but SaaS is costly without enhancements.
Introductory professional services, like a fast-track service, were included with our E5 membership, and there have been no additional costs.
The Intune suite and add-ons, such as batch management and remote help, are costly.
It costs approximately forty euros per user per month.
The pricing is pretty good and now follows a subscription model similar to SolarWinds, making it easier for customers to subscribe and unsubscribe.
The transition to a Software-as-a-Service model led to significant price increases without corresponding enhancements in the platform.

Windows Autopatch is the most valuable because it removes the burden of patch management.
The BigFix features that have proven most effective include inventory, software delivery, software distribution, software catalog, and both software and hardware management.
I use this mainly to capture inventory for IBM products, and as BigFix was part of IBM, it gets easily integrated with IBM solutions.

Enables management of multiple operating systems with a single license
The best feature is that it's a Microsoft product, so if anything goes wrong, we get quick support for anything required. Remote system functionality allows us to sit anywhere and take control of any device via remote management. We can enhance security for clients' laptops with built-in Microsoft Defender, which is available with the Microsoft Intune license. We use it for reporting purposes through endpoint analytics. When pushing scripting, there are two types available: remediation script and reservation script. Through endpoint analytics, you can push defender policies to clients. It helps with reporting, inventory updates, and monitoring tenant status health.

Long-term partnership improves customer satisfaction and delivers efficient endpoint management
BigFix supports something known as Patch Policies, which allows users to define that whenever critical patches are released, they should get evaluated against machines and automatically deploy them. Their software distribution is very efficient because they use a pull mechanism rather than a push mechanism, allowing each machine to download from the closest repository and install themselves. The same assessment mechanism applies for real-time vulnerability remediation, allowing identification, evaluation, and automatic remediation across machines. Compliance metrics typically measure the patch percentages deployed against the number of endpoints, which could be various device types including virtual machines and mobile devices. Measurements are taken against each device type, looking into compliance percentages for browsers such as Chrome and Edge based on their versions.

Has consistently offered in-depth customization and reliable patch management across environments
The most valuable features of Ivanti Endpoint Manager are its customization options for the agent, as you can customize patching cycle settings, maintenance windows, and reboot policies. Within a device group, all these settings can be customized based on the agents. The user interface of Ivanti Endpoint Manager is very practical and easy to understand, providing comprehensive information without clutter. It is simple enough for me to conduct a knowledge session for teammates, and they quickly grasp where each option is located. Regarding automated patch management, it allows me to download patches without manual intervention. Whenever a fresh list of patches is available on the server, I can schedule a task that automatically pulls all the new patches, but I prefer to manually control the deployment of these patches. Reporting in Ivanti Endpoint Manager allows me to create LDAP-based queries, and once I have a bit of knowledge, I can build my queries to determine what version of Chrome is installed on how many devices. It provides CSV files that serve as raw data for building reports, and I can set it to automatically email reports on a weekly or monthly basis as per my schedule.
