We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The user-friendly features are the most valuable. For example, migration of requirements and migration of test cases and the creation of traceability. You have various reports that you need. The plug-ins that are available to connect with the other tools.""The ability to reuse test cases already used across projects is the most valuable feature of this solution. We don't need to create new ones.""I found Inflectra SpiraTest intuitive enough. It's also easy to learn, so this is what I like about it.""We were able to add a step-by-step procedure for someone to follow to assist in testing.""The reporting functionality helps vendors and technical resources identify bugs and issues that need to be addressed. The simple dashboard-style home page makes training end-user testers simple and straightforward. The actual testing UI is VERY straightforward and very intuitive for the end-users that test the system since very often we pull from business and operational users to help test new systems.""Inflectra SpiraTest has a lot of functionality, which is good.""The features of this product most valuable to me were the test case management and the visual status, by which it was displayed."

"Visual Studio Test Professional's most valuable feature is the rich IDE for doing code and test development.""The ability to quickly make your own components has been valuable.""The most valuable features are the SSIS reports, the deployment models, and the ability to interact with other Microsoft tools.""What I like most about Visual Studio Test Professional is the way people publish templates and publish integration.""Its initial setup process is easy.""The tool is flexible and easy to manage. We use it since it is scalable and easy to use. It integrates with solutions.""The setup is easy and straightforward.""The documentation is easy, and it helps us solve our problems."

Cons
"The UI for managing test cases, test sets, test runs could be a little more integrated, currently, these feel disjointed at times and confusing. Also, the test steps page needs to display the test steps closer to the top of the UI so as to not have to scroll down to find.""Being able to add scripting for testing can and does save a lot of time. When you are able to just ‘run’ a test case rather than manually add it and run it.""It should develop integration with JIRA. We have some complexities which caused us not to decide to integrate it with our JIRA, like synchronous data.""The folder organization in Inflectra SpiraTest could be better, though I cannot comment whether that is structure-related. Most of what I need would probably be in the tool, but as a test manager, I need to be able to create dashboards and reports easily.""Migrating is not very easy. It depends on the organization, how efficient and effective the decision-making process is. The plug-ins should be easier and more integrated rather than the user trying to integrate the tools which are more popular, like Jira et al.""Two areas that can stand improvement: integration with third party products and making it more intuitive.""The user interface is slightly complicated and not very consistent. It could be more user friendly."

"Visual Studio Test Professional needs to improve its stability.""It needs more integration with other tools for monitoring. Microsoft also needs to make it more modern to make it work with microservices and the cloud. It is a bit outdated currently.""The documents on the Microsoft website are not very useful, and they ought to make it easier to find answers.""It is not good in terms of performance. When you open Visual Studio, you have to wait for a while to process your code. It uses a lot of resources and has a lot of features. If we could disable some of the features, it would be lighter and faster to use. Nowadays, for some of the projects, we use VS Code for JavaScript or Python. VS Code is very light and easy to use, whereas, in Visual Studio, we have to wait because it takes time to compile or run a project. It has a lot of competitors in terms of performance, such as Intelligent ID. Intelligent ID is very easy to use. It has many features, and it is lighter to use than Visual Studio. In terms of error handling, sometimes, it shows an error before you finish your code, which can be improved. It would be good if it has a version for Linux. I use VS Code on Linux, but I am not sure if Visual Studio has a version for Linux.""I would like to see more integration in the solution.""Over the years, I haven't identified any specific enhancements that I desire; Visual Studio has consistently met my requirements seamlessly and flawlessly.""Sometimes, the solution hangs, so its performance could be improved.""The solution should be cheaper."
