We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable features of IFS Applications in the latest version are the new user Arena interface. It's from Apps 9, but it brings more flexibility in usage, especially around different devices, such as mobile usage, which doesn't restrict you from using a computer. We are it for the HR side, and it's proving quite good. It has a new modern feel to it similar to a standard cloud application which enhances the user experience.""Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine or ten out of ten since it is an extremely scalable solution that can be used for various use cases with thousands of users.""There tends not to be a massive weakness in the product itself, as weaknesses can quickly be resolved in the next patch or the next release.""The most valuable features of IFS Applications are their intuitiveness and ease of use. The navigations are also straightforward, which makes it easy to train users. The feedback I always receive is that it is very user-friendly.""The main reason for the ERP project was to bring together our fourteen sites, which had until then worked in separate silos.""All the modules are valuable in their own right, but everything has to go through the ERP. IFS has done an excellent job integrating the various modules to complete these processes. My expertise is in the finance module, but I have used the other verticals. It's an all-around good product.""IFS Applications' best feature is the user-friendly interface that has a .NET Framework application in the front end and an Oracle database and WebLogic middleware.""Having a young talented programmer, during the six years of use, we were able to save around 75 000 EUR preparing simple modifications using customization rather than ordering them in IFS / Partner."

"The main component is Oracle Financial. It is one of the most comprehensive financial solutions available on the market.""The best part of Oracle ERP Cloud is that everything can be found in a single place.""It is easy and very convenient for clients to go to the front end and check whatever update they want to look at.""Oracle ERP delivers business processes.""ERP Cloud's most valuable features are general ledger, accounting, expense management, and procurement. These four functions are crucial.""Smooth patches and upgrades which reduce costs and time for having a new version.""Oracle ERP Cloud is a well-established and well-known product that is cost-effective for the customer.""I like that Oracle ERP Cloud has a lot of ready-to-use products, making it easy to adopt."

Cons
"There should be some improvements in the predefined templates in IFS Applications.""Customization needs to be improved.""We would like to see AI-driven CSI functions built into the tool that would allow us to quickly tie our improvement goals to metrics and activities, so Assyst will suggest the next steps to help us get closer to our goals.""Aspects of HR and payroll could be better.""The next version has already been released, and some of the technical things are a little bit behind the curve in development. This is specifically security, maintenance, security role maintenance, and creation. This is in their new product, called IFS Cloud.""IFS Applications can improve the reporting capabilities and increase the speed of feedback time in the IFS Applications. This would help with the overall performance of the solution and provide better experiences for customers.""The solution needs to improve its documentation and user-friendliness.""IFS Applications is not robust enough to handle high-volume transactions, so it's not suitable for larger enterprises."

More IFS Cloud Platform Cons →

"I would like to improve the tool’s budgeting and reporting. I know that Oracle is working on the tool’s analytics part so I expect the analytical feature in its future releases.""The Oracle ERP Cloud accounts payable could be improved.""One disadvantage is that we don't have immediate access to evaluate or fix data that is not in the app until we own the database.""You need a lot of knowledge to set up Oracle ERP Cloud.""The stability is not as good as Informatica, but this is very good.""The interface could be improved in future releases.""It should be built with less complexity and more ability for clients to add screens.""The solution's new analytics information, dashboard, and flexibility of reporting could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It is better to buy implementation services from IFS than from partners"
  • "Licensing is on an annual basis, with no additional costs."
  • "Ask for all-inclusive pricing, as they are pretty flexible if you ask for custom models."
  • "Pricing is an area that could be improved. They could be more competitive."
  • "IFS Applications is expensive software, but it's on par with SAP and Oracle. It's for large enterprises and government entities and not for small and medium-sized enterprises. They have one licensing model, but if you want to have a module-specific license, they provide component-based licenses. Unlike SAP and Oracle, it doesn't have different levels of licensing. It's one level of licensing."
  • "There's an additional yearly cost for support."
  • "There are varying license levels that you can purchase."
  • "IFS Applications are competitive in terms of pricing compared to other vendors, such as SAP, Oracle, and Epicor. They are generally cheaper, especially for licensing costs."

  • "It is too costly."
  • "The solution is expensive and there are some services that are extra costs."
  • "For an ERP Cloud, the pricing is relatively high."
  • "We have an annual license with Oracle, however if we need additional features we do pay for them."
  • "The pricing for Oracle ERP Cloud is on par with other top solutions."
  • "In a developing country such as Bangladesh, Oracle ERP Cloud is expensive compared to on-premise solutions, so the turnover is very low. Customers become more comfortable using on-premise services because of the high subscription costs of Oracle ERP Cloud."
  • "The price of the solution is expensive. There are additional costs associated with this particular case that must be taken into consideration when calculating the overall expense. These costs may include but are not limited to, additional materials, labor, and other miscellaneous expenses that may arise during the course of the project. It is important to note that these additional costs may exceed the initial pricing estimate."
  • "We pay additional costs to a consulting company."
