Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature is the distribution module.""A high level of ERP can be handled in IFS.""Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine or ten out of ten since it is an extremely scalable solution that can be used for various use cases with thousands of users.""IFS Applications is an all-in-one solution for finance, accounting, and production.""IFS has been completely rebuilt, modernized, and cloud-based so we don't need bulky software installations.""The most valuable features of IFS Applications in the latest version are the new user Arena interface. It's from Apps 9, but it brings more flexibility in usage, especially around different devices, such as mobile usage, which doesn't restrict you from using a computer. We are it for the HR side, and it's proving quite good. It has a new modern feel to it similar to a standard cloud application which enhances the user experience.""The financial posting controls are quite handy. The user interface is really friendly, highly flexible, and pretty intuitive for end users.""IFS Applications' best feature is the user-friendly interface that has a .NET Framework application in the front end and an Oracle database and WebLogic middleware."

"SAP S4HANA is a stable solution.""I find everything I need in S4/HANA.""It is more or less a very, very smooth and seamless product. Day by day they are increasing their technology features and they are keen to resolve the issues. India has a complex business scenario and SAP is thinking about that and resolving the issues day by day.""The finance solution and procurement functionalities are good.""S4HANA is very scalable - we use it across seven or eight factories, and everything is running fine.""The most useful features of SAP S4HANA are the consolidation reports. The BI is very strong and the manufacturing and finance sections we like a lot.""A user-friendly UI with good documentation.""It's reliable and the performance is good."

Cons
"I'm a business analyst, so I do a lot of customer-facing work. I take calls from businesses I have to troubleshoot. One thing that bugs me is the error messages you get from IFS. If I get an error message, I have to dig to find the cause because, often, the error message doesn't precisely describe the problem. It'll hint about where the problem lies, but you have to work to find the root cause. It doesn't help in my situation. You expect an error message to point to the field or what is causing the issue.""Aspects of HR and payroll could be better.""Sometimes from the sales perspective, clients don't always fully understand how large a task or a project they're getting involved in when they decide, "We're going to switch across to IFS." They could probably do a little bit more, maybe around preparing people for these projects.""Customization needs to be improved.""IFS Applications is not robust enough to handle high-volume transactions, so it's not suitable for larger enterprises.""I have seen that one of the areas that my company has identified for improvement might be the rental management capabilities within the solution.""The solution needs to improve its documentation and user-friendliness.""There should be some improvements in the predefined templates in IFS Applications."

"There are some problems with the support provided for the solution, so it is not quite easy. It takes some time for them to offer us support.""I'm not a big fan of SAP S/4HANA because it needs a lot of hardware. It is really fast, but it needs a lot of hardware. The hardware for S/4HANA is too expensive.""The product's use of resources could be improved, as it is quite intensive at the moment.""If I can highlight one point that could be improved, when we talk about other ERPs, like Oracle, nowadays these ERPs provide free integration with other ERPs. For example, there is an API for banks integrated into every tool and every product form requires that bank integration in order to give real time data into the ERP. But SAP is charging a lot for that particular bank integration scenario and I think it should be free because other ERPs are providing this feature built in to the ERP. People always ask us about the integration and how much it will cost to go with that solution, so people are thinking about this.""The integration could be made a little simpler in terms of design and implementation.""A virtual machine could exist to make everything available on a single deployment.""This product would be improved by adding more reports.""There should be an easier way to migrate customers from all versions to SAP S/4HANA."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "There's an additional yearly cost for support."
  • "There are varying license levels that you can purchase."
  • "IFS Applications are competitive in terms of pricing compared to other vendors, such as SAP, Oracle, and Epicor. They are generally cheaper, especially for licensing costs."
  • "Compared to SAP, the pricing for IFS Applications was very affordable. People using the solution would find that it's worth the money."
  • "The pricing of the solution may appear to be expensive for smaller companies with only tens of users; however, for larger and mid-size industrial companies, IFS is able to win deals and the pricing is competitive in the market."
  • "The additional cost that comes with the solution includes the overhead of the people who are trying to fix the tool issues. These people are trying to reproduce the issue and report it to the technical support and testing with them which is huge. It is the cost of quality in the end."
  • "The pricing is relatively high compared to competitors."
  • "We pay for a license to use the solution, which is not very expensive."

  • "Licensing costs are not transparent"
  • "This is not the cheapest solution on the market, so you need to invest seriously in it. As a solid product, it has a solid price. It's definitely one of the more expensive tools on the market, but it's also one of the best products on the market."
  • "There is a license to use this solution."
  • "It is very expensive. It is not cheap."
  • "It is on a quarterly basis. There are no additional costs. There is just the standard fee."
  • "Depending on the solution there can be a different way of doing the license. Most of the licenses are annual, but there are some models where it is that offer pay-as-you-go. Additionally, there are some solutions that offer monthly per user."
  • "There is an annual license for SAP S4HANA."
  • "The price could be lower."
