"The most valuable features of the Hillstone E-Series are its hardware capacity, innovation, and the throughput that the hardware can take.""The most valuable feature of the Hillstone E-Series is its user-friendliness.""The installation is easy, we have not had any complaints from our customers.""Five out of five ROI.""Working with the Hillstone E-Series has, from a remote perspective, allowed me to give my clients a secure connectivity.""The initial setup was straightforward. It only took a few hours to deploy.""Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.""I am impressed with the application filtering feature."

"The solution provides high availability.""I found nothing of value in this solution.""NetExtender works very well. I never had an issue with it, and it has been working well for me. In terms of management, you have good control over the destination. You can use NetExtender to set the policy and the static route for a client. You can modify it based on what your client needs or can access. You have good control over routing.""One of the most valuable features of SonicWall Netextender is the integration of VPN accounts with Microsoft Identity Management, which enables us to enforce secure access through Microsoft Intune and conditional access policies. This helps ensure that only authorized individuals are able to access the VPN, rather than anyone with knowledge of a password.""The initial setup is pretty easy.""The initial setup is pretty straightforward.""It allows us to work remotely.""The product has two-factor authentication."

Cons
"There must be a more easy-to-use GUI."

More Netgate TNSR Cons →

"I am not sure if this solution offers active directory integration. Adding that feature will definitely be an advantage.""The tool provides just a general report. It does not provide a granular report. Hence, the tool should work on its reporting feature.""Support from Hillstone E-Series has a shortcoming that needs improvement.""The solution doesn't have a web proxy built into the system like Sophos. This is something they should work to change.""Having frequent live webinars on a monthly basis would really help.""The tool needs to improve its price.""The current usage reporting is very basic.""SSL VPN license cost is not cheap."

More Hillstone E-Series Cons →

"The Netextender application itself doesn't really look pretty, however, we can still use it. We don't care what it looks like. That said, if they did a cosmetic update, that would be fine.""Right now, you have to load each license on to an appliance. You can't pool across multiple appliances. So, you end up having to do a lot of administrative work to recover if an internet provider goes down, and you cannot leverage it as easily into a DR solution.""SonicWall can be difficult for some people, but I don't find it difficult. Some companies provide a VPN client for free, but you have to pay for NetExtender.""There must be a multi-factor authentication enabled or integrated by default with it in order to be integrated with NetExtender.""The initial setup of SonicWall Netextender is straightforward. The only issue we encountered was with relocating the VPN appliance. If we needed to move it from an on-premise to an on-cloud architecture, we had to start over and redeploy it from scratch. Unfortunately, it is not portable and any changes to its physical location often result in the need for a fresh deployment to ensure everything functions properly.""The solution takes up a lot of bandwidth.""The only concern I do have is with the zero trust, and the solution is not coping with the newer technologies as much as it needs to do on that particular factor.""They need to rewrite the software to make it a usable product."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "There is not a license required for this solution but the price should be less expensive."
  • More Netgate TNSR Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The licensing model is very complex with many subcategories of licenses you can purchase. They could make it more simplified for customers to understand."
  • "The cost per year for licensing, and hardware, is approximately $850 for the basic plan."
  • "The tool's pricing is reasonable. It depends on the model. The product's pricing is around 600 USD. You need to buy a software license to activate the features. You need to pay around 150 USD for that."
  • "Hillstone's pricing is economical and neither very high nor very low."
  • More Hillstone E-Series Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "After a certain number of users, you require extra licensing."
  • "You have to pay for its license. There are some other companies that provide a VPN client for free. When you buy NetExtender, its license is available for one, three, or five years."
  • "Cost wise, it would be a few hundred dollars for the base appliance with the first five clients. Then from there, your cost per seat depends on how many you're getting. It's a one-time cost, and then you have a few hundred dollars a year for the maintenance contract once you get the one-time seat costs out of the way."
  • "The price of SonicWall Netextender is reasonable. Whether it's a small shop with only five users or a larger operation with 130 users, we have received no complaints or objections regarding cost from any of the clients we are looking to deploy it with."
  • "The solution has a pretty good price."
  • "The solution is cheap itself, not too costly."
