Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Remote access has become seamless and secure while deployment remains simple for our users
Performance could be improved today. People are now moving toward SASE, which stands for Secure Access, Secure Edge Solution. Fortinet also has that offering, which would be easier since it operates through the cloud, acting as a first line of defense. When the user connects to the internet, they connect to the cloud first for posture assessment and monitoring before connecting to the outside world. The impact is significant because nowadays people are adopting SASE. During COVID time, many users were trying to connect back to their office, causing the performance or CPU utilization of the firewall to increase tremendously, which slowed down performance. I have not worked with endpoint telemetry in Fortinet FortiClient that could have been helpful for threat mitigation.

User-friendly solution with good blocking
I mainly use Security Premium as an antivirus.  Security Premium's best features are blocking, notifications, and the user interface. Security Premium's cost could be lower. I've been using Security Premium for a year. Security Premium is stable - I haven't faced any issues or bugs while using…

Pros

"The integrations are out-of-the-box, as are the playbooks."
"My advice for anybody who is considering Cortex XDR is that it is a complete solution, and has very good features."
"It is an easy-to-use tool."
"The product's most valuable features are massive user and feature intelligence exploit detection."
"The tool's use cases are relevant to security."
"Stability-wise, it is good; I did not hear about any issues in terms of stability, and Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks can be trusted completely."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks saves time in various ways, although the user interface is fairly standard."
"The most valuable aspect of Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks for me is its integration with AI detection, where we get to know the behavioral detection based on users, traffic patterns, and different services that we consume."
"FortiClient has good signatures, good protection and, up until recently, it integrated really well with our firewall."
"I would recommend FortiClient; this is a really good security product in the market."
"From an application perspective, this solution is stable."
"A valuable feature of FortiClient is that we can connect from anywhere if we have Fortinet access."
"It is very easy and useful. A normal user with basic information can easily connect to any environment."
"It's very stable."
"FortiClient's most valuable features are that it's fast and safe."
"Overall Fortinet FortiClient has good functionality."
"Protects me from internet vulnerability."
"The dashboard is good."
"Flexible antivirus and antimalware software. It also provides protection against ransomware. It's flexible, easy to handle, scalable, and stable."
"The product is called Norton 360 all-in-one. It is a full product."
"The licensing fee for this solution is not expensive."
"The most valuable feature is the multifunctional protection."
"We tried a few: Kaspersky, Trend Micro, we used McAfee, we used Norton; we tried them all on our entire fleet of computers, and we realized that in terms of ease of use and resource consumption, Norton is something that is acceptable to us."
"It does not take many resources during scanning."

Cons

"I would like to see improvement in the tool's user interface, particularly in the area of managing alerts and providing more reporting capabilities."
"They are charging for Network Traffic Analyzer (NTA) services, so if the per GB data could be provided at a certain level free of cost or at the same cost which the customer is taking for the entire bundle, that would be better."
"Data privacy is a matter of concern. You have to be careful with data privacy, it can be sensitive and Cortex can have most of your access."
"I have run into some detection issues with Cortex XDR. It needs to be better at detection of internal attacks."
"It automatically detects security issues. It should be able to protect our network devices while operating autonomously."
"Managing the product should be easier."
"The solution needs better reports. I think they should let the customer go in and customize the reports."
"The solution should enhance the ADR and reporting."
"The deployment status is not good in Mac devices and sometimes in Windows-based devices using GPO, like Active Directory, that are not on the local network."
"It would be interesting if the solution offered a way to try to investigate and create a use case to trace vectors."
"The solution's access control could be improved."
"With Fortinet, some clients have to wait two to four days for a response. That is the biggest complaint from end customer about Fortinet's technical support."
"Compatibility issues between different versions."
"The pricing is not cheaper compared to competitors. For price satisfaction, it rates at seven out of ten and could be improved."
"There are compatibility issues, and sometimes, especially with macOS, it's difficult to set up properly."
"One area that could be improved is cost, but you've got to pay for what you get."
"Occasionally when you open a ticket, there's a lack of understanding that prevents the solution from being resolved directly."
"During scanning, sometimes, there is a heavy load on the workstation. This needs to be improved."
"The only problem with Norton Antivirus is that it consumes a lot of resources like CPU and memory in the background. Whenever it's scanning, my laptop becomes very slow, and the worst part is you cannot do anything about it. As this product is secured by my local IT team, you cannot even kill that process, and that's what I've felt about many other antivirus solutions. I'm using McAfee for personal use, and I have the same problem."
"The only problem with Norton Antivirus is that it consumes a lot of resources like CPU and memory in the background."
"Sometimes the program is too complex, and simplifying it might be an improvement."
"They say Norton Security Premium is an all-in-one solution, but we don't know exactly what's in it, e.g. they didn't make an effort to explain the difference between a virus scan and a ransomware scan."
"Security Premium's cost could be lower."
"I do not find it to be scalable."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's the most expensive solution, but features-wise, it's quite strong. It's very good for protection, so the results are very good in the case of protection. I would rate it a two out of ten in terms of pricing."
"It is present, but when compared to other competitive products, I would say it is not less expensive; however, when all of the other added values are considered, the price is reasonable."
"The pricing seems fair, and I do like the licensing model. You use wherever they are, and it is elastic."
"The cost depends on your chosen license type, like Pro or other licenses."
"Every customer has to pay for a license because it doesn't work with what you get from a managed services provider."
"Compared to CrowdStrike, Cortex XDR is an expensive solution."
"The price is on the higher side, but it's okay."
"It has a higher cost than other solutions, like CrowdStrike or Microsoft’s EDR tools, but it reduces the cost of our operations because it’s a new generation antivirus tool."
"Licensing was free up to ten users and after that, it was pretty reasonable."
"The cost per port is very less as compared to the other technologies."
"The solution is more cost efficient than Cisco, as FortiGate tends not to charge for the client license, which allows one to make free use of whatever is supported on the device."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"Generally, Fortinet is not cheap. The features that are available for free are only for FortiClient VPN clients, not other solutions. It includes web security, antivirus, and one more feature."
"The price of the solution depends on the type of firewall you have from FortiGate. I am satisfied with the price of the solution."
"I rate the product's pricing a seven out of ten."
"The pricing is good because you get and end-to-end security solution in one package price."
"Security Premium is highly-priced."
"We have a yearly license, and each license is around 20 or 30 Jordanian Dinars plus taxes."
"As I have been a long-time customer, I was given a fair price of $49.95 per month for the first four to six months."
"The licensing fee for this solution is not expensive."
"If they could come down in price that would be good. It's not exactly the lowest."
"I don't pay for a license."
"Pricing for this software is competitive."
"The solution gives the value for the money."
