Enables automated threat intelligence sorting and enhances proactive threat hunting capabilities
You have to have at least a threat intelligence background or a SOC analyst background to use it, as that's the information you'll dig around with in there. If you don't have that kind of knowledge, it probably can be a little hard to use, but they do provide training. They offer training not only for how to use the platform but also some basic threat intelligence training to explain what these things are and what these terms mean. My company is a customer of Anomali. I would recommend it to other people. I would advise making sure you don't pick it without testing other products and have your use cases well thought out and documented before testing, so you know it will solve the problems you're trying to address. Keep an open mind with it and realize that whatever you can dream of, you can probably do with the platform. Overall, I would rate Anomali an eight out of ten.

Faced with deployment challenges but benefits from detailed reporting and cost efficiency
CrowdStrike sits at the kernel level and we don't know how it's operating, but we get the message; however, ESET Endpoint Protection Platform sometimes has issues with policies where users complain about popping up notifications. When we were using CrowdStrike, it used to detect and block pirated software, but ESET Endpoint Protection Platform is not doing that. The blocking notification in ESET Endpoint Protection Platform comes in when it is installed from the user; it should not disturb them because we are in a domain environment, and sometimes users are not able to bypass or minimize many things they are facing. Additionally, it is not detecting pirated software, which could be a bug. I trust ESET Endpoint Protection Platform, and they should ensure that software with bugs are not getting through. While it is cheap, ESET Endpoint Protection Platform sometimes makes the computer run slower and takes backup, which affects system performance. If the price is low, ESET Endpoint Protection Platform is saving money, but time-wise, we face problems because when users have issues, we need to spend time rectifying them.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We now have a very robust collection of threat intelligence based on the capabilities that Anomali provides."
"I have found Cyber threat intelligence (CTI) very useful and concise. The solution is easy to use."
"The feature I have found most valuable is credential monitoring. This feature is easy and quick."
"The most valuable aspect of Anomali is the threat modeling capability."
"The solution is easy to install and configure."
"What is great about ESET is the ERA Web Console through which we can pull various reports, monitor and administer all clients and servers, and the console is easy to use."
"The product does not slow down the machine."
"The solution has very useful MDM features."
"The features seem to be alright."
"It is absolutely invisible once running."
"It rarely gets in the way, and we don't even notice it scanning."
"The most valuable feature in ESET Endpoint Security is the game mode to restrict notifications."

Cons

"An area for improvement is the intelligence sharing within the Anomali community. The tagging system can be inconsistent, as any company can use any tags for their reporting."
"Support in the past has been top-notch, but recent trends indicate that it has taken a back seat, as we often don't get answers for days."
"A lot of tools can give you many features, such as CTI intelligence and a tax service reduction. However, many people are combining different tools together to have more capabilities. It is up to the consumer whether they want to have multiple tools or have one tool that serves the purpose. Anomali Enterprise could improve by combining all the other tools' features into one solution."
"Less code in integration would be nice when building blocks."
"The use of SQL Server can be improved. At times, there is a bit of challenge while linking it with the Javascript. ESET Endpoint Security requires modern technology or modern equipment on site. You will find it difficult to use ESET Endpoint Security with dual-core machines. If they can add the cloud management feature to their product, it will be much easier. If you look at this COVID situation that we are in right now, people are working from home, so you need to control the computers wherever you are. For example, if you are using any email setup and you are hosting it on your own, all the email traffic will be going through the same network. You need to protect all of your computers from the attack. It is best if you can do it remotely rather than having an IT person to come onsite to manage all computers and metrics etc, which isn't a smart way to do it."
"The interface is good. However, it could always be better. It could be more user-friendly."
"The product could have better integration with third-party products that would help extend functionality."
"We are looking to move towards an EDR solution rather than EPP. EDR is a solution that can dynamically detect threats based on the process behavior. It would be better if this solution was an EDR and an EPP solution, this would increase security protection."
"ESET's updates are mostly manual. That's my biggest concern. I'd like it to be more automatic. I've had to download the new version and run it manually to install it. I've got several workstations like that right now."
"The migration between on-prem and cloud has room for improvement."
"It would be great to have VIP functions added to the solution in a future release."
"I would like them to use AI features to do preventative virus protection."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"When comparing the price of Anomali Enterprise to other solutions it is in the medium to high range. However, I am satisfied with the price."
"It is subjective. I don't think it is expensive. If you can have 10 user licenses for less than $100, I don't think it is expensive."
"The price of ESET Endpoint Security is in the middle range of price compared to other solutions. For example, BitDefender can be more expensive."
"For 200 or so users, it might cost around $10,000 or so. That is for a first-time purchase. A renewal may come in at $7,000 to $8,000, or around 20% to 30% less. This is a rough estimate of what to expect."
"The pricing is pretty good."
"ESET is cheap."
"The price of the solution is reasonable compared to the other products out there. It is definitely in line with the competition."
"It is not expensive, but it is also not inexpensive."
"The solution costs around $20 or $30 per user per year."
