Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Cloud-based protection has simplified daily client support and keeps threats under control
The problems that we are facing with policy adoption include slow adoption, as it takes more than five minutes to adopt policy on client computers. ESET Network Attack Protection sometimes helps in reducing network-level intrusions, but sometimes it prevents local devices on the network, which are well-known and good devices, from being recognized, treating them as a threat. So it requires more administration than usual. ESET could implement a good solution for remote support in ESET Endpoint Protection Platform for improvement in the future. Since you have the cloud console, ESET could have something similar to AnyDesk or TeamViewer, but from ESET.

Exceptional malware protection with regular updates and behavior-based detection
There are no built-in backups or integrated backup options, which could be an opportunity. The free version is effective, however, the paid version is pricey compared to it. Other customers have mentioned issues with false positives. It lacks enterprise-level management and more enterprise functionality. CrowdStrike and SentinelOne are much more enterprise-grade solutions. Malwarebytes has limited integration with cybersecurity tools and lacks enterprise integrations because it is not an enterprise product.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The stability of the solution is very good. We have about 100 users on it right now, and we use it twice a week."
"Palo Alto is constantly adding new features."
"The initial setup is easy."
"Stability is a primary factor, and then there's the ease of distribution and policy management; Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is very easy to work with, and we're quite happy with them."
"Cortex XDR's most valuable feature is its intelligence-based dashboards."
"One of the main benefits of the solution is its intelligence to correlate the events into an incident."
"It integrates well into the environment."
"The user interface of the solution is sophisticated and straightforward."
"I find the main valuable feature to be the antivirus, it is very effective with removing viruses."
"Advanced level endpoint firewall, which helps to block unwanted and malicious traffic."
"The inspection feature allows complete monitoring"
"The solution is easy to install and configure."
"The most valuable features of ESET Endpoint Antivirus are the search engine, easy firewall setup, and ransomware scans."
"My advice to others is this is a very good solution for email protection but for the EDR and SIEM, the integration is not at a high level."
"The solution is easy to install and configure."
"If you use ESET Antivirus Security with ESET ERA Server as a middle computer in your network, you can manage all features and updates from one place."
"Being able to carry out a full scan on your system."
"When it comes to frontend protections, it has some of the best definitions, and they do traditional signature and heuristic detection a lot better than Microsoft and some other players in that space."
"The installation process is very easy, especially since it is on the cloud."
"The solution has helped to increase staff productivity by ten percent."
"It gets the job done, and they are consistently updating it monthly."
"It enhanced our performance in our company."
"We have seen a decrease of approximately ninety percent in the number of events."
"The solution is very good at scanning; it's a good product, it does the job, it offers good protection, and I haven't come across any issues so far which I need to escalate."

Cons

"There are some false positives. What our guys would have liked is that it would have been easier to manipulate as soon as they found a false positive that they knew was a false positive. How to do so was not obvious. Some people complained about it. The interface, the ESM, is not user-friendly."
"In the next release, I would like to see more UI improvements. Their UI is a bit basic. When we are speaking about Palo Alto Networks they are the big company, so they can improve the UI a little bit. The UI, the reports, the log system can all be improved."
"Additionally, I think the price is very high, and if it can be adjusted, I believe it will be a very good solution."
"Cortex XDR could be improved with more GUI features."
"The complexity and confusion regarding product variants, such as XDR, Forexiant, and Forexon, must be addressed."
"As an improvement, I would like to see enhanced connection speeds."
"I would like to see some additional features related to email protection included."
"The tool needs to be improved in terms of integration and interface."
"The software has room for improvement in terms of CPU and other resource usage."
"They can improve ransomware protection, and there should be cloud sandboxing for Mac."
"I would rate the pricing a three out of five. It is not expensive, but it is also not inexpensive."
"ESET Endpoint Security does not have application control."
"The console or GUI of ESET Endpoint Antivirus should improve. Additionally, they should provide an addon feature for HyperV and VMware."
"It's not scalable in that you cannot use a license for multiple devices."
"They recently released an EDR integration. I hope they have more AI or intelligence filtering on the EDR events."
"They recently released an EDR integration. I hope they have more AI or intelligence filtering on the EDR events. Even though it has already got AI, but it is quite a different thing. So, they still have room to improve on the EDR part. This is one small piece that they need to improve. Otherwise, it is just fine."
"The reporting is not as flexible as you would find with other antivirus software."
"The interface could be improved. Currently, you need to really dig around to find the elements you need."
"The online reporting needs to be improved. Currently, we have to look at it online, and if we want to download a report, it just downloads as an Excel file."
"In my opinion, it's not very scalable, at least the way we use it at this point in time."
"There hasn't been an ROI because we haven't had an event that would cause this software to do something. Therefore, at this point, it has just been a cost to us because we haven't gotten anything out of it."
"It's not covering everything as we just started in EDR. In Malwarebytes, there's no response. The response is very limited, and integration is very limited."
"Malwarebytes should improve its mobile compatibility."
"Requires increased efficiency in terms of detecting false positives."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's the most expensive solution, but features-wise, it's quite strong. It's very good for protection, so the results are very good in the case of protection. I would rate it a two out of ten in terms of pricing."
"We didn't have to pay any additional fee for the cloud instance. It just came with the renewal, which was nice."
"The pricing seems fair, and I do like the licensing model. You use wherever they are, and it is elastic."
"Cortex XDR is a costly solution."
"Every customer has to pay for a license because it doesn't work with what you get from a managed services provider."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is an expensive solution."
"This is an expensive solution."
"The price was fine."
"Its price is fair. If we compare it with any other retail product, it is a little harder to compete with."
"Pricing per month, for security services as apps in CEE pricing: up to €2 monthly is OK."
"You need to pay for the ESET Endpoint Antivirus license monthly or yearly, whichever you choose."
"The solution costs around $20 or $30 per user per year."
"The license is annually, and the price is low compared to competitors."
"There is a license required to use ESET Endpoint Security."
"The price of ESET Endpoint Security is in the middle range of price compared to other solutions. For example, BitDefender can be more expensive."
"It probably is less expensive than Sophos."
"Its licensing is annual. There are no additional costs beyond the standard licensing fee."
"The licensing is per seat, with clients being a little less expensive than servers. If we need more licenses, we can accomplish that within a day. As Malwarebytes adds new features to their product, such as DNS filtering and a patching module, they want to charge us more even though we're a premium user, which isn't ideal."
"Yearly, it is around $50 per client."
"I rate the tool's pricing a five out of ten."
"The cost may be something in the ballpark of $20-25 a year per computer."
"On a scale of one to ten, where one is a low price and ten is a high price, I rate the product's pricing a seven."
"The platform pricing is competitive with other antivirus products."
"We expect to pay $1,000 USD a month, depending on the number of users."
