We performed a comparison between ESET Endpoint Protection Platform and Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The main thing is that I feel safe. Because the processes that have been used to get a handle on the attackers are much better than other competitors"
"Ability to get forensics details and also memory exfiltration."
"I like FortiClient EMS. FortiEDR has a lot of great features like lockdown mode, remote wipes, and encryption. I can set malware outbreak policies and controls for detecting abnormalities. You can also simulate phishing attacks."
"NGAV and EDR features are outstanding."
"It is very easy to set up. I would rate my experience with the initial setup a ten out of ten, with ten being very easy to set up."
"The setup is pretty simple."
"This is stable and scalable."
"It is a scalable solution...The initial setup of Fortinet FortiEDR was straightforward."
"The stability is good."
"The most valuable features of this solution are, of course, the IPS/IDS, Intrusion Prevention, Intrusion Detection, and Antivirus."
"The pricing is good."
"There are some great features in ESET Endpoint Antivirus when you are browsing on the internet. For example, they have a notification if within your LAN network something is suspected to be a threat. Additionally, the malware features are very good."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the ease of use."
"The solution is easy to install and configure."
"The tools and the features available with this solution are very competitive. It is always updated to prevent upcoming attacks."
"In terms of the current global landscape, it is a great solution."
"I like the inventory management. I also like behavior detection and exploit prevention."
"Kaspersky offers a large number of robust default policies, such as USB blockage. I really like this feature."
"The EDR console should have more extensive reporting. You shouldn't need to purchase FortiAnalyzer. It should be included in the EDR part. The security adviser cloud platform could be improved with more options for exclusive or intensive rules for devices."
"I would like the solution to extend beyond endpoint protection and include other attack surfaces such as other network components."
"Everything with Fortinet having to do with their cloud services. They need to invest more in their internal infrastructure that they are running in the cloud. One of the things I find with their cloud environment compared to others' is that they go cheap on the equipment. So it causes some performance degradation."
"Making the portal mobile friendly would be helpful when I am out of office."
"The only minor concern is occasional interference with desired programs."
"The SIEM could be improved."
"The solution's installation from a central installation server could be improved because the engineers had a little bit of trouble getting it installed from a central location."
"We've encountered challenges during API deployment, occasionally resulting in unstable environments."
"They need to improve licensing for VMs. When ESET is uninstalled from a VM, the seat stays on the license management server. We have to manually delete the seat from that server because it doesn't know how to handle it. I contacted exclusive ESET support here in Croatia and they told me there is no solution for this yet."
"It seems to have some issues with updates. When you do updates, it sometimes requests for a reboot, and even when you do the reboot, it still says that you need to reboot. Currently, on my computer, it says that a new ESET Endpoint Antivirus has been installed, and I need to restart the computer for the changes to take effect, but I've already done that, and the same message is still there, which is a little annoying. It should have a feature similar to the Intercept X feature in Sophos."
"I would like them to use AI features to do preventative virus protection."
"I think that ESET is a little too heavy on the CPU."
"I don't know if it's possible but I'm always looking for better protection."
"The adware module could be improved."
"It would be great to have VIP functions added to the solution in a future release."
"The solution can improve the modules, and it is lacking centralized management and visibility of the endpoints."
"It's been good for months but bad on older endpoints. Only performance issues."
"One significant difference is the lack of on-site support from Kaspersky. Symantec has a local team in Pakistan with representatives I can contact directly for troubleshooting and support. On the other hand, Kaspersky doesn't provide the same level of local resources. If I have an issue, I need to draft an email and send it to a Kaspersky help center."
