Better support and more accessible resources are crucial. Customers have expressed that support is not as flexible, and it is difficult to obtain necessary information quickly. Customers would benefit from improved training material for integration with other products. The solution's pricing is high and needs to be reconsidered, and the technical support should improve to provide more accessible and open information.

Good technical support, and efficient for working with business data
We use this solution for working with data. The most valuable feature of this solution is the efficiency. This application should be made easier to use because it usually needs training and it is not easy to operate. We have been using this solution for fourteen years. The stability of this…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Diagnosing issues is a lot faster; we can pinpoint what is going on more quickly than trying to figure it out, and with our teams being kind of split, we can all access it at the same time and see what we need to see very quickly and easily."
"With some scripting we are able to integrate much better with our ticketing system."
"You can scale it pretty much however way you want to as long as you have the servers to throw at it."
"The valuable features are that it monitors our infrastructure, our servers, network devices, and applications proactively, helps us to prevent problems, and CA UIM tells us how to do that."
"DX Unified Infrastructure Management offers visibility into network activities, integration capacity, and enhances monitoring at the core and application levels."
"If you need an all-in-one solution that's easy to maintain, to scale and that you can rely on - Nimsoft Monitor is a good solution."
"Scalability and flexibility. The product can grow with your infrastructure so you don't have to install other products. Just add components. It's very simple."
"The technical support is very good, as we work closely with a dedicated project manager from CA who provides weekly status checks, troubleshooting, and responds to tickets fairly quickly."
"TBSM is a rock, and our house would have crumbled without it."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the efficiency."

Cons

"DX UIM's reporting and customization need to be improved."
"I would like to see improvements in the maintenance mode area."
"I'm very happy with DX Unified Infrastructure Management, but what could be improved is its user interface because currently, it has many wide spaces. All the information you need is in DX Unified Infrastructure Management, and it's a reliable tool, and though that's more important than the gaps in the user interface being smaller or wider, those gaps still need some improvement. I know the team is working on it. My company had some backend problems with DX Unified Infrastructure Management in the past that have now been solved. The setup for the tool also needs improvement because it's complex. Another room for improvement in DX Unified Infrastructure Management is its technical support because it's sometimes not as knowledgeable or responsive. What I'm suggesting to be added to the tool is an open-standard ELK Elastic-based database where you can put in all data, so that you can use the data in other systems as well."
"One of the things we'd like to see is a more streamline and baseline reporting mechanism."
"Parts of the Unified Management Portal are not written in HTML5. I would like all components (Portlets) to be HTML5."
"Making a GUI with criteria such as selection by robot/hub/probe etc."
"It seems clunky, not as user friendly as Spectrum, for example."
"Most of the time, we need to restart the monitoring server when deploying new features."
"Yes, Event Storms and other less traumatic triggers the JVM to hang requiring recycles."
"This application should be made easier to use because it usually needs training and it is not easy to operate."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Pricing for DX Unified Infrastructure Management isn't cheap at all. It's a complex tool, so you have to pay more. No one is happy with a large bill to pay, but if it's a complex product and you designed a complex solution to be monitored, it'll be your fault that you need to buy an expensive product, and that would be implicit in the design of DX Unified Infrastructure Management. Monitoring is just a small part of it. Sometimes you have to pay a significant amount of money for a complex yet very good solution."
"This product is expensive compared to other vendors (SolarWinds, ManageEngine)."
"The product-price ratio is better than other brands such as Fortinet or SonicWall."
"The license cost depends on the number of probes and robots."
"Reasonable setup cost and licensing prices."
"CAD $400,000 annually."
