Family sharing and personal backups have improved how I manage and access my files anywhere
I am not fond of their syncing. Their file syncing is very clunky, so I am not a real fan of the file syncing. I think Box does a much better job of the syncing of data onto desktops and laptops. When you try to sync the files in Dropbox, it actually puts a copy of the file on your laptop, so it sucks up all of your memory. Whereas with Box, I can sync files into my file explorer and it is still cloud-based. They have not saved the file physically onto my laptop. They save it in the cloud and it just does a temporary download and then it uploads again, but that file is not saved on my laptop. Whereas with Dropbox, anytime you want to sync on your laptop, it actually does save it. There is a way to set it up, but it takes a lot more work and effort and I have never been able to get it to work the way I want it to work. So I just do not sync my files with Dropbox on my laptop. That limits my ability to use Dropbox from my work laptop because my work laptop just does not have any memory at all on it. They give the bare minimum of memory and say that it should all be in the cloud anyway, so you do not need to have that much storage space. So I cannot even access Dropbox from my work laptop and have to use the browser version of Dropbox if I need to access my Dropbox from my work laptop. Within the company, it is a personal choice. Our company has not dictated what cloud service to use. As long as it has all the security measures that meet the standards of our IT department, anyone can use whatever cloud service they want. For example, our company is not allowed to use Google because Google is not a secure cloud service in the estimation of our IT department. So there are cloud services that we are not allowed to use, but from the five to seven different services that they give us to choose from, we all can find what meets our needs.

Secure collaboration has transformed remote work and now protects sensitive data across devices
Recently, I implemented FileCloud to host our data externally using HTTPS instead of placing our data on a third-party cloud solution or using VPN technologies. It's being used by our entire department to access the data on our file server of our organization. With a lot of our staff members working remotely and on the move, this solution helps our staff members access their data on our secured central servers without having to use VPN technologies. I love it because we can access our internal file server data from anywhere on the planet as long as we're connected to an internet connection. I also love it because we are able to use the mobile application, which is a very robust and intuitive application. Some of the best features that FileCloud offers include an intuitive mobile application. The user interface is very easy to customize and user-friendly. File synchronization, storage, and archiving are very easy. Document management is great. Content search and retrieval are great. Enterprise content collaboration is on point, together with the security and risk management and information governance. FileCloud stands out especially because it provides secure data storage and real-time synchronization capabilities. We can easily synchronize files across devices, manage document versions, and access files on the go through the mobile app. I also love it because it provides enterprise-grade security features such as two-factor authentication and other features which ensure the security of our data and files is top-notch. FileCloud has positively impacted our organization as this tool has been very easy to use. Therefore, regarding any technical survey, personnel can use it. It has a very intuitive and user-friendly interface, which makes the learning curve very smooth. It also provides enterprise-grade security features like two-factor authentication, which ensures our data security and file data has really improved from fifty to seventy-five percent. We've been able to collaborate on files, especially because of the secure sharing of data with both external and internal customers and clients. It has made it very useful for remote workers and facilitates effective collaboration.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Very easy to use."
"The main advantage of Dropbox is that you can see the files, and you can easily share them with all the team members, they can be accessed by whoever you give access to, and it is all secure."
"The most valuable feature of Dropbox is its user-friendliness. You can drag and drop files you want to store easily. Additionally, the speed of the solution is great if you have a fast connection."
"It's really great to have access to our files from anywhere at any moment."
"The user interface is very user-friendly."
"The solution is very fast and simple. If I want to share a file I can put it on the cloud or on-premise. It's user-friendly."
"One of the most useful features of Dropbox is its ease of use."
"The setup was straightforward."
"The granularity for the audit log in FileCloud is extremely valuable."
"I decided to switch from OneDrive to FileCloud because FileCloud offers advantages over all the cloud products I have used, as it is more cost-effective, fast, and reliable, with unparalleled security compared to other alternatives, and it is very easy to use, allowing us to access our server and retrieve our files with ease."
"FileCloud has been a very positive experience overall."
"My main use case for FileCloud is that I love it because it's a very secure content collaboration platform that provides compliance, data governance, data leak protection, data retention, and digital rights management capability."
"Since using FileCloud, we have saved approximately 40% of the time it previously took to access data because we can retrieve information at any time with an internet connection."

Cons

"I used Dropbox to store my files but they have deleted my account, and everything is no longer accessible."
"Dropbox could probably be improved around the integrated security, but those options are probably available."
"We are moving to Microsoft Teams. Instead of Dropbox, we will be using Microsoft Teams that has the advantage of saving the versions. It supports file versioning so that you can always go back to the previous version if you want to. If somebody has made a change in one of the files and you don't know what changes have been made, you can always go back to the previous version. This feature led us to migrate to Microsoft Teams. With Dropbox, there is no option for simultaneous work. This feature is there in Google Files. In Microsoft Teams, you can invite team members to collaborate. That is the reason why I prefer Microsoft Teams over Dropbox. It should also have more integration with other solutions."
"The mobile aspect of the solution needs improvement. For instance, if I want to use a file from Dropbox on my phone, I sometimes struggle to download images off of Dropbox."
"They can maybe provide a bit more free space. By default, they give you 2 Gigabytes."
"Limited space on free plan, pay plan a little pricey"
"It could be more secure."
"They can maybe provide a bit more free space. By default, they give you 2 Gigabytes. The storage space could be a bit more."
"Currently, FileCloud's compatibility for Linux implementation is limited to only Ubuntu or Red Hat Enterprise Server."
"However, one area that it should improve is that the updates need to be more constant, especially to the file drive."
"I would suggest that the cost could be reduced to give smaller organizations a chance to afford this tool."
"The price can be a little higher for smaller organizations, but for medium to large enterprises, the price is very cost-effective and affordable."
"The requirement to uninstall and reinstall after every other update is time-consuming and should be addressed."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution is expensive."
"Given the price and limitations, there are more competitive options available."
"My company makes monthly payments towards the licensing charges associated with the product. I think it's a reasonably priced product."
"While the pricing is comparable, especially for users of Microsoft Office 365, the value proposition might not be as competitive for those seeking primarily storage options."
"It has some free features, but for some of the features, you need to pay. If you need more storage, then you need to pay. Its licensing probably is on a monthly basis."
"The subscription could be cheaper."
"We use a yearly license. The pricing is not a bad price. I'd rate it about a five out of ten, with ten being expensive and one being cheap."
"The product is free up to a certain limit."
