We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature is the analysis, because of the beta structure.""Fortinet FortiEDR's firewalling, rule creation, monitoring, and inspection profiles are great.""The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers.""I like FortiClient EMS. FortiEDR has a lot of great features like lockdown mode, remote wipes, and encryption. I can set malware outbreak policies and controls for detecting abnormalities. You can also simulate phishing attacks.""It is a scalable solution...The initial setup of Fortinet FortiEDR was straightforward.""The stability is very good.""The product detects and blocks threats and is more proactive than firewalls.""he solution is an anti-malware product that integrates well with other vendor products such as firewalls, SIEM, etc. It captures threat intelligence and gives you better visibility. The product also has sandboxing features."

"We have been able to monitor access to files from each of our workstations.""There is a built-in endpoint detection response that helps save money.""It can scale from 100 to 10,000. There's no problem with the scalability.""It has the added advantage of offering forensic analysis.""I like the solution's adaptive inspection and container inspection.""Some of the features that are highly appreciated are its robust data loss prevention capabilities, flexible deployment options, and the ability to monitor data transfer across multiple vectors.""The most valuable feature of Digital Guardian is its reputation. They have scored high on the Gartner Magic Quadrant.""It has been scalable."

"For Carbon Black Endpoint, the possibility of integration with different other software's log servers is the important thing. Having just one point of view is more interesting so you don't need to go to different places to see all the information.""I rate Carbon Black CB Defense an eight out of ten for the ease of its initial setup.""The solution is very useful and easy to handle. You don't need much intervention with this product.""It is a very complete platform.""We have another piece of that infrastructure that does what they call threat emulation. It's like sandboxing where it takes files that it doesn't know about, puts them in a VM-type environment, and it kicks them off to see if there's any malware or tendencies that might look like malware, that kind of thing.""It has the best live response feature.""The solution is stable.""The solution has a very nice API on the back end for remoting into a system and executing scripts or utilizing self automation."

Cons
"The EDR console should have more extensive reporting. You shouldn't need to purchase FortiAnalyzer. It should be included in the EDR part. The security adviser cloud platform could be improved with more options for exclusive or intensive rules for devices.""Cannot be used on mobile devices with a secure connection.""The solution should address emerging threats like SQL injection.""The only minor concern is occasional interference with desired programs.""I would like the solution to extend beyond endpoint protection and include other attack surfaces such as other network components.""The solution is not stable.""FortiEDR can be improved by providing more detailed reporting.""We've encountered challenges during API deployment, occasionally resulting in unstable environments."

More Fortinet FortiEDR Cons →

"If the client uses Windows 10 or 11 and Microsoft updates the operating system's version, Digital Guardian must update their product to match compatibility.""Digital Guardian is an excellent solution but our experience with the partner has been the most horrible experience we have ever had with any partner.""Technical support could be better.""The solution has complexities around policy creation and deployment.""There are a lot of issues with the current version of the Endpoint agent. It's not stable, it's resource-consuming, and there are some performance issues. If they could improve the stability of the agent it would be great.""When considering potential areas for improvement, it may be beneficial for Digital Guardian to optimize its processes and reduce the computational demands on the system, particularly with regard to high CPU usage. Although Digital Guardian offers numerous benefits, it can consume a substantial amount of RAM and CPU power.""It would be helpful if there was an on-premise version of the solution for companies that cannot use the cloud, such as government sectors.""The initial setup is a bit more complex than other solutions."

More Digital Guardian Cons →

"I am not sure whether Carbon Black CB Defense can be considered as a stable solution or not.""What was rolled out to my company are mixed versions of Carbon Black CB Defense, so what I'd like to see in the next release is more synchronization, where it can detect the endpoint that's running an old version and suggest updates.""The pricing could be more reasonable.""There's some disparity between the on-premise and the cloud type of application.""The support is poor.""Sensor deployment requires extensive fine-tuning, and creating deployment packages is time-consuming.""There could be more knowledge. I think they made a mistake when they took away the Check Point integration, because it provides more automation and also more threat intelligence.""They will most likely need to create or include a feature that checks the network."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.
