Gained clear cost visibility and forecasting but still needs finer insights using resource tags
Cloudability offers excellent features including trends, graphs for cost utilization, and forecasting capabilities. The forecasting feature has helped me understand how the resources are utilized and how the cost is burned, and then I use it to make changes to keep the cost in control. Cloudability has positively impacted my organization as it helps us understand cost utilization, make corrections, and understand the forecasting of the cost. It has made reporting much easier.

Cloud optimization has transformed our cost control and now drives efficient FinOps decisions
The best features that Spot offers include automated cost optimization, advanced container and Kubernetes management, and extensions to security as well as compliance, AI-driven insights, and multi-cloud integration, enabling organizations to work across different cloud environments and benefit any customer.Spot's automated cost optimization works by continuously analyzing the workload and applying policies to minimize cloud spend without sacrificing performance. Spot automatically chooses the most cost-effective mix of pricing models such as spot instances, reserved instances, savings plans, and on-demand based on real-time demand and availability. Spot has positively impacted our organization by automating cloud resource management, which has significantly cut costs and improved efficiency. We have seen up to 70 percent savings, as well as better scalability, reliability, and tighter integration with AWS. This integration has opened several doors to the partner ecosystem, different marketplaces, and has allowed us to leverage programs while tapping into the Amazon network and ecosystem more effectively.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It provides us visibility, then we can turn around and can give the leadership team more information, which we could not previously give them."
"Each user can have their own dashboard that they want to consume. Instead of having to share one dashboard for multiple users, you can create individual views for each user to view, and that view will contain only their own accounts, which allows for separation of data."
"Cloudability has positively impacted my organization as it helps us understand cost utilization, make corrections, and understand the forecasting of the cost."
"Transparency and visibility are the key features."
"The most crucial feature in reducing my cloud costs has been the rightsizing recommendations, along with the dashboards that track reserved instance spending coverage and utilization. As for Cloudability's integration with our existing cloud infrastructure, it's not integrated directly into our AWS infrastructure but rather reads and pulls data from it, providing valuable insights and analysis for cost management."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is its ability to create reports and dashboards."
"The tool helps us to resize on AWS correctly."
"The pricing isn't too expensive."
"Spot has positively impacted our organization by automating cloud resource management, which has significantly cut costs and improved efficiency."
"The solution offers both block access and file access, making it a nice solution for customers."
"The solution helps us to manage and scale automatically whenever there is a limit to the increase in the application workflow."

Cons

"The API is not well-documented. It is not straightforward and difficult to use. This needs to be improved, as it is very difficult for our developers to develop automation around it."
"We have dealt with a few technical support people where we ask for one thing and they might not deliver straightaway. It seems like they are a stretched across multiple customers."
"The dashboard needs to include more graphs per team to show what individual teams are spending in a given time period."
"Cloudability needs to focus on more cloud providers."
"They can improve the custom range of the network."
"We would like them to have a linear regression, so we can be predictive for budgets, allocations, and the year's follow ups. We also want to have a longer window of analytics with better certainty that our workload will fit the model, not just in a two week window."
"In general, I feel Cloudability wasn't able to support many resources."
"My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing was adequate, but it could be made better."
"There are no particular areas for improvement I can identify."
"The solution doesn't have support from OCI, and it should start working to onboard OCI."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"My team is one of the most expensive teams, and we look at it quite a bit. We have probably easily saved around $400,000 USD a year."
"It justifies the cost and is worth it."
"The price of the license or the usage is a percentage of the top consumption. So it varies from year to year."
"We have seen ROI with the reserved instances, and having the ability to predict what reserved instances you can get. We can save tens of thousands of dollars, and hundreds of thousands of dollars in some cases."
"Cloudability is a bit expensive."
