We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable features are SD-WAN, application control, IPS control, and FortiSandbox.""I have found Fortinet FortiGate to be scalable.""It's a user-friendly firewall. Most of the tasks are very simple. It's simple to configure and troubleshoot this firewall.""There are great templates, so you don't have to customize them if you don't want to. You do have the option to custom create some folders and some reports, however, with what is there, you don't really need to go through extra effort, as they already give you a lot of predefined views of reports and so forth.""All of the features of Fortinet FortiGate are useful and the security protection is good.""Fortinet FortiGate's reliability is valuable.""The initial installation is very straightforward.""It blocks the vulnerabilities that can negatively impact us."

"The VPN allows users to connect remotely and securely."

More Check Point Power-1 [EOL] Pros →

"The most valuable features are the firewall section, the VPN, and how you control live users.""Its portal is user-friendly. I am able to manage the user data and access control through this device.""For a small-medium enterprise this solution is easy to manage and operate.""SD-WAN and IPSec features are valuable to me.""In terms of features and user-friendliness, the solution is good. It’s very stable. The solution is scalable. In Sophos Cyberoam UTM, the most valuable features are web and application filtering, routing functionalities, and VPN. It has helped us manage the bandwidth.""It has been working fine. You just turn it on, and it works.""The solution is easy to integrate.""The most valuable feature of Sophos Cyberoam UTM is the SD-WAN gateway."

Cons
"Some of the features in the graphical user interface do not work, which requires that we used the command-line-interface.""Its reporting capabilities can be improved. It should have some out-of-the-box reporting capabilities and some degree of customization. The basic reporting that it currently has is not sufficient to create more usable reports. It needs some sort of out-of-the-box reporting. They try to make customers purchase FortiAnalyzer for this kind of reporting, which is an additional cost. Other firewall vendors, such as SonicWall and Sophos, provide this sort of reporting without any additional cost.""I could not configure sFlow from the FortiGate graphical user interface. I realized that the sFlow configuration is available only from the CLI, and discovered that sFlow is not supported on virtual interfaces, such as VDOM links, IPsec, or GRE.""A sandbox would be good in order to be able to inspect the emails containing spam and be able to validate the emails that contain malware, prior to delivering to the customer.""FortiGate support could do some improvements on their IPv6 configuration. Right now it's still in the very early stage for utilizing in an enterprise level network environment.""I would like to see improvements in the support from Fortinet. Here in the Philippines, whenever we have problems with a Fortinet product, we mostly ask for support from distributors and resellers and not directly from Fortinet.""There are problems with the custom reporting of the unique traffic. The data is there, but it is too difficult for us to extract.""It could use more templates for third-party site-to-site VPN setups other than FortiGate and Cisco."

More Fortinet FortiGate Cons →

"Multi-factor authentication would have been a plus in security at the time."

More Check Point Power-1 [EOL] Cons →

"The implementation policy needs improvment.""I don't know whether this will be included in an upgrade, but I would like to get the user utility, like seeing where the users are using more of the data.""The solution had a feature to import users from a CSV file. However, the latest version does not have that option.""The product fails to provide proper reports, making it an area where improvements are required.""The documentation is not straightforward.""I would like to see real-time alerts on traffic insights.""The data support response time should be improved.""The policy is a bit too vague."
