In terms of improvements for Fortinet FortiGate, they could offer evaluation licenses, as compared to Meraki, which provides a 90-day evaluation. In Fortinet FortiGate, they do not provide standard evaluation licenses; instead, we need to request them from the OEM through the account manager for POCs. If we want to conduct a demo, we need to work with real hardware. In comparison to Cisco, we have DCloud, which helps with providing demos to customers, but in Meraki, I need to reach out to them, book a lab, and they need to provide all the hardware. I need remote access and L3 engineers to program it; only then can I offer a real-time demo to the customer.

Good intrusion prevention, firewall, and VPN capabilities
Check Point Power-1 (EOL) has reached the end of its useful life, yet at the time, they could to make some changes such as: * Integration in the cloud. It is the new trend, however, Check Point has already contemplated this and already has its own cloud device. * Automation. As the automatic creation and application of policies, this would have been very beneficial. * Multi-factor authentication would have been a plus in security at the time. They must also make some improvements in their support departments since they do not comply with the SLAs that they provide.

As for areas where Sophos Cyberoam UTM can be improved, it's hard to say; I have not at the moment seen anything that I could not get a solution for, but if there's anything, I'll make sure to raise that with the Sophos team. Regarding the documentation, I find that it is still lacking, although the YouTube videos, user training, and knowledge forum are now better than they were before. Sophos Cyberoam UTM should move in the direction of AI capabilities, as the world is moving toward AI. Sophos Cyberoam UTM is not promoted enough. I see FortiGates organizing student competitions and Cisco doing CCNA classes, so Sophos should follow that route as well.

Pros

"Overall, Fortinet has offered us a very stable VPN that we can access from anywhere in the world and we are not facing any challenges whatsoever."
"The most valuable features of Fortinet FortiGate are the different types of profiling. It has been the most effective for me. The WAF and the antivirus profile are the most effective in network protection."
"FortiGate protects and secures our clients' networks. The security is solid, and it performs well. I think they use some artificial intelligence, so I think it's excellent equipment."
"FortiGate tech support is very good because we get immediate support from them; for example, whenever we raise a ticket, we get an immediate response, and someone attends to help."
"A strong point of FortiGate is that the graphical interface is complete and easy to use, especially if we think there is a list of operations that we are able to perform inside."
"We found FortiGate better, and we switched everything, decommissioned all SonicWall firewalls, and now benefit from clear licensing where we know the price without complex user-based or function-based subscriptions."
"Fortinet FortiGate is a very light product. It's easy to understand."
"FortiGate firewalls are user-friendly, and I like the security profiling features."
"The VPN allows users to connect remotely and securely."
"In my opinion it is right product at enterprise level network to protect the user and server from external and internal threats and attacks"
"We have never had to restart a firewall. The firewalls have all worked perfectly fine."
"The dashboard is very good-looking and offers maximum features. If a customer's website has a problem, we can guide them over the phone because they can easily find the specific option on the dashboard. That's why we suggest buying Sophos."
"The tool's robust features allow for the customization of policies, objects, and firewall settings."
"Good user interface."
"The solution is easy to use."
"Security comes with multiple default IPs, which allows things to be done immediately, within only two to three minutes."
"The SSO is introduced in our premise only."
"It has made internet usage more productive for internal users."

Cons

"The dashboard is not user friendly so is a bit complicated."
"The scalability could be better."
"What could be improved in Fortinet FortiGate SWG is its pricing because it's a bit higher."
"Fortinet FortiGate could improve the user interface. There should be more functionality and options through the GUI."
"Fortinet's support team consists of a huge networking team, because of which there is a delay in response at times."
"One area for improvement for Fortinet FortiGate could be the price, as my clients here are small companies, and they might not have the resources or money to always buy a Fortinet FortiGate solution or FortiGate products."
"Even though our currency in this part of the world is becoming increasingly weak, the pricing is now expensive for us. I have tried pushing Fortinet FortiGate to some customers, however, sometimes the transactions don't conclude due to pricing issues."
"I would like to have SD-WAN as a part of the Next Generation Firewall. It would enhance high availability."
"I have to pay Check Point for every new service I integrate in the firewall and it also has license related issue which needs to renew every years."
"Multi-factor authentication would have been a plus in security at the time."
"We have had issues with malicious sites and external scans."
"As an IT manager, I don't get the complete report of what users are doing, so it would be great to have that also."
"Cyberoam configuration is done through the browser, which is one of the places that viruses spread."
"Smaller CR15 units don’t have a hard disc or built in IView software. These units could do with that feature."
"In my experience the solution can be easier to configure with more documentation, we need more training."
"Sophos VPN connectivity could be improved, as it can be lengthy, and users take longer to connect"
"Sometimes, users are timed out intermittently."
"Needs a mail alert/notification when the device loses any of its connections, during ISP redundancy implementation."
