The software is incredibly easy to use and can integrate with any platform (CRM, ERP, HRIS, etc.)
The best features of this product are the following: * Point and Click interface, which requires zero coding and anyone can build workflows and processes without any difficulty. * Seamless customization of the instance so you can customize it to your business needs without the need for developers. * Analytics, which provides 360 views of your business processes in real time (crucial for business decisions) and mobile capabilities so users can execute, track and approve processes on the go no matter where you are (the application is web-based). * Another huge and important feature is security. Process Director holds strong security features within groups and partitions to prevent users from viewing certain data (especially internal and external) and allows administrators to build unique security settings.

Automation platforms streamline processes and offer flexibility, but AI integration and version upgrades pose challenges
In the technology world, there is always room for improvement. Technologies evolve day by day, especially with the emergence of artificial intelligence and generative AI models. Although IBM BPM is a substantial product, adopting and integrating new technologies quickly is not easy due to the migration and upgrade paths involved. Every time new versions are released, we face business and production challenges that make rapid adoption challenging. The main concern bothering me today regarding IBM BPM is the integration of AI components.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Rapid adoption by user community to automate and facilitate existing processes as well as creation of new processes."
"The software is incredibly easy to use and can integrate with any platform (CRM, ERP, HRIS, etc.)."
"The Process Designer is good. We like how we can drag and drop and link the processes up, that works out great for us."
"IBM BPM and Automation Anywhere working together automate manual tasks with a reduction in FTEs, creating about a 30% reduction in FTEs by automating processes."
"We started four years ago with one or two process apps, but now we've got close to 40, so that's a lot of incremental development in the last three years."
"Helps automate processes, also it easily manages and tracks the business processes."
"In terms of ROI through scaling, one of the processes we automatated with BPM is running smoothly with fewer people than before, and in fact the size of the demand has scaled, very notably."
"Its most valuable features are usability and integration with other IBM products."
"The Process Portal provides access to most heritage capabilities and introduces many new features, such as a mobile-ready user interface, the ability to edit and share saved searches, and support for federated environments."
"Technical support is pleasant to work with and always available."

Cons

"The one area of improvement would be marketing of the product."
"At times the documentation is somewhat unclear or missing, but the support is very helpful in resolving any questions."
"There are a few areas, like triggering mechanisms, externally exposed variables, and changing its values, which need to be revisited, as they do not sometimes function properly."
"I'd like the tool to be more flexible."
"When you have to integrate files for enterprise applications, we call them ESIs, this requires a lot of work, because you have to first create the EF file and integration designer, which takes quite some time, before you can be able to consume a website."
"IBM BPM can improve the dashboards and reports. It only has two dashboards, and reporting is very difficult to build."
"From the testing perspective and minor enhancements perspective, customization is something that is a little tedious as compared to new tools. In addition, various open-source tools that are available are not working with IBM BPM."
"One suggestion for IBM BPM is to provide better integration between their products, such as DataCap, which we use for scanning. Although the new CP4BA offers offline capabilities, not everyone is on CP4BA, so enhanced integration for those on older versions would be beneficial."
"The people working on the front desk are having some problem with managing the documentation. For instance, they get a picture, and if the picture comes rotated 90 degrees, together with a picture that is not rotated, they have some problems dealing with that, technically."
"The pricing is a little bit high. It's gone up in cost."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I give the pricing an eight out of ten."
"I rate the solution's pricing a four out of ten."
"The pricing is very high."
"Our customers do see ROI. They'll identify some particularly painful or uncoordinated processes to start with, then build out from there, picking off low hanging fruit."
"IBM BPM cannot be considered a cheaply priced product. IBM BPM is a really expensive product compared to other companies. One needs to opt for the perpetual licensing model offered by IBM."
"I already compared some solutions related to business process management, and I saw that the cost of IBM BPM is more expensive compared with that of Camunda, for example."
"Price wise, IBM BPM is cheaper than other similar solutions and has excellent pricing."
"The pricing is quite high, I would rate it two out of five."
