Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Provides detailed event investigation and endpoint control but needs better Mac support and UI improvements
I find the advanced behavioral analytics feature in Bitdefender GravityZone EDR a little gimmicky, as I don't usually find much use for it. The advanced behavioral analytics feature needs to be optimized to be more user-friendly and easier to work with. We don't specifically look for the customizable dashboards within Bitdefender GravityZone EDR; rather, we get the logs on our SIEM solution, QRadar, where we have created the dashboards. We also have Tableau and Power BI, so we don't utilize any dashboards on the EDR front. I would like to optimize the incident response area as well, especially when comparing my experience with CrowdStrike, which is relatively more responsive and easier to navigate when there are multiple hosts involved. Other areas of improvement for Bitdefender GravityZone EDR include its lack of support for Mac devices.

A way for users to manage their credentials on the go using a stable, and scalable app
I give the solution an eight out of ten. It's hard to comment on the number of users because the feature is completely for corporate employees who have Blackberry devices, so it's hard to track how many users there are. I advise making your decision to use the solution based on the usage in the company or the demand of the business, which you are running based on the demand.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The one feature of Palo Alto Networks Traps that our organization finds most valuable is the App ID service."
"What I like about Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is that it is a comprehensive solution that contains everything the organization may need when using endpoints."
"It's a perfect solution. It integrates well into the environment."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is specifically designed to prevent zero-day attacks and is part of an ecosystem of Palo Alto, providing customers with a long-term vision to modify and redesign how security is applied in their company."
"Being a cloud solution it is very flexible in serving internal and external connections and a broad range of devices."
"I've found the solution to be highly scalable for enterprises."
"Cortex XDR is a simple platform that's easy for administrators and users. You have a lot of flexibility to change or customize the features."
"One of the main benefits of the solution is its intelligence to correlate the events into an incident."
"There is a good return on investment; it gives you the protection you need and, for network administrators, peace of mind, once you have installed this solution."
"We have had no issues with the support and consider it to be good, even when it comes to accredited resellers."
"I have found Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra to be highly scalable."
"We tested it in a laboratory, not yet in real life, and we ran Zero-day, the antivirus found that it was trying to write in a particular memory zone and blocked the payload to prevent it from executing it, even though it was a Zero-day, meaning that it was not known at that moment by any antivirus on the market."
"What I have found to be valuable is after every new release of the solution there are more features. At the time that we bought Bitdefender GravityZone, it was their top solution. We went from their Enterprise version to Elite, Elite HD, Ultra, and now there is an Ultra Plus available."
"I never had any issues, never had any bugs, it was very stable."
"The product is stable. It has a small footprint, but it does a lot of heavy lifting."
"We have had zero penetrations across our entire client base."
"The resetting option and creating a password is a very useful on-the-go feature, which gives a user a good experience, obviously a hassle-free experience."
"The solution is very easy to set up."
"The mail is without a doubt the most valuable."
"Their technical support is actually quite good."

Cons

"The solution can never really be an on-premises solution based simply on the way it is set up. It needs metadata to run and improve. Having an on-premises solution would cut it off from making improvements."
"I recommend adding a data loss prevention (DLP) solution to Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks. The inclusion of this feature would allow the application of DLP policies alongside antivirus policies via a single agent and console, making it more competitive as other OEMs often offer DLP solutions as part of their antivirus products."
"Cortex XDR is trickier to configure than other Palo Alto products. This is one area where we are not so satisfied."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is a strong tool, but it is true that digesting information sometimes makes the tool go a little bit slower."
"The GUI could be improved. It's a little bit cumbersome. It could be more user-friendly."
"When it comes to core analysis, and security analysis, Cortex needs to provide more information."
"It is a complex solution to implement."
"It's more focused on network communication. If a customer wants to increase the level of protection and start working with documents, it's impossible to integrate these features into the system. It's more of a communication-oriented system than a content security-oriented system."
"I would like to see the capability for remote installation of third party applications added (like installing WinRar, MS Office, etc.), and Firewall for servers."
"The reporting is much too simple. It should be more in-depth and offer more details and more information."
"The interface could be improved."
"I have not seen a return on investment with this solution."
"Application Control should be available on the cloud."
"Some of the things that we are looking at but not sure how far along they are with releasing are geo-tracking, remote wipe, and encryption management."
"Because it makes the machine very slow. In the past, we were using ESET NOD32; it was very good, it was not making the machine slow."
"The graphical user interface for EDR could be improved."
"The user interface could be improved. It was clunky at times."
"The solution can be improved by adding more features in which the content could be synced."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Very costly product."
"It's the most expensive solution, but features-wise, it's quite strong. It's very good for protection, so the results are very good in the case of protection. I would rate it a two out of ten in terms of pricing."
"It has a higher cost than other solutions, like CrowdStrike or Microsoft’s EDR tools, but it reduces the cost of our operations because it’s a new generation antivirus tool."
"The solution has one subscription for endpoint protection and one subscription for detection and response. The two licenses combined give you the BRO version."
"We pay about $50,000 USD per year for a bundle that includes Cortex XDR."
"The price of the solution is high for the license and in general."
"It's about $55 per license on a yearly basis."
"This is an expensive solution."
"We need to pay for a yearly license for the solution."
"Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra's pricing is competitive in the market."
"Bitdefender GravityZone EDR is cheaper than Kaspersky. There are no additional costs apart from licensing ones."
"The pricing for Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra is not that high. It's okay for its service, so I would download it on my personal computer and buy it for myself as a customer."
"Bitdefender GravityZone EDR is cost-effective and has the best pricing."
"There are some differences. It's more cost-effective, yet it provides the same functionalities as Defender. That's why I've been exploring the comparisons. We pay for it annually, and it's a per-seat payment."
"As I am on a different model, my clients pay me on a monthly basis."
"Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra is less expensive than other solutions, such as CrowdStrike. We had a really good deal because it was their year-end and they were trying to do a lot of sales that week. We bought a three-year contract from them and the cost was approximately $17 per endpoint, per year. It is was a very good price. I have spoken to other people who have purchased CrowdStrike at approximately $60 per endpoint, per year. I have no complaints about the price of this solution."
"We had a licensing package of $500,000 for three years."
"I am not able to remember the amount, but users have to subscribe for a certain amount, so once they subscribe, the amount gets sent."
