Experienced easy deployment and stable performance but user support needs improvement
The most valuable features are that BetterCloud had a much more sophisticated workflow management toolset than Google itself. It was easy to build onboarding and offboarding workflows, which could handle the desired complexity versus out-of-the-box Google. BetterCloud allowed us to reallocate storage so all files created by a departing member would get reallocated to the manager, thus retaining access. BetterCloud saved help desk time by automating processes, providing a reasonable return on investment. BetterCloud now offers SaaS platform tracking capabilities, a key, previously missing feature.

Centralized identity governance has automated lifecycle management and simplifies compliance
One Identity Manager could be improved by making the initial setup and configuration simpler, especially for complex workflows and integrations. The user interface and reporting dashboards could also be more modern and intuitive with better out-of-the-box analytics. Additionally, clearer documentation and faster implementation guidance would help organizations get value more quickly. One specific challenge my team encountered was the complexity during initial configuration, especially when setting up custom workflows and role models which required more time and expertise. We also felt that out-of-the-box reports and dashboards are limited, and more customizable real-time analytics would be helpful. Better documentation and guided setup wizards would make adoption easier, particularly for teams new to identity governance tools. One improvement I think One Identity Manager needs is the enhanced self-service experience. The end-user self-service portal could be more intuitive with clearer guidance for access requests and password resets. Additionally, while integrations are solid, deeper cloud-native connectors and API-driven automation would help in hybrid and multi-cloud environments. A more responsive mobile interface or dedicated app for approvals and tasks would help managers who are often on the go. One more improvement is the built-in predictive insights or trend dashboards around access patterns and risk could improve proactive governance. More descriptive error messages and in-tool troubleshooting tips during setup configuration would reduce dependency on external documentation or support.

Pros

"You simply cannot use Google Apps without it, so it's a no brainer."
"BetterCloud saved help desk time by automating processes, providing a reasonable return on investment."
"Identity Manager by One Identity is the best product for us from a security perspective."
"After implementing One Identity Manager, we achieved clear, measurable improvements in identity and access management, with user onboarding reduced from two to three days to a few hours, faster access provisioning for new employees, immediate off-boarding security, and 100% instant de-provisioning of access for leavers, while eliminating the risk of orphan or active unused accounts."
"The solution offers good integration with other environments such as SAP and Active Directory, et cetera."
"One Identity Manager impacts my organization positively by cutting manual administration work and improving compliance while also reducing security risk and enabling better governance, thus improving efficiency and security."
"The Data Importer is a great tool to create an ETL. It generates code which is easy to maintain later without the tool."
"One Identity Manager provides a wide range of features that enable connection to numerous target systems."
"What I like the most is the flexibility or configurability."
"It's very flexible. You can customize it to the fullest extent. You can use it for almost every situation for every customer."

Cons

"The account support team was weak in engagement and communication, contributing to the decision to move to more comprehensive solutions."
"Would love for it to be able to replace our SSO as well as provide connectivity and the same level of automation to our other SaaS products."
"The downside of the product is it is complex and you need an implementation partner to help you develop it. You can't do it on your own."
"The interface can be a bit complex for an administrator to manage."
"One Identity Manager SAS Safeguard Authentication has too many updates and change of revisions. Very soon the product that I have installed is not supported, meaning it's still functional and we can work with it, but if I have an incident, it's not responded to."
"Overall, it is a strong platform, but I think the user interface could be more intuitive, especially for new administrators."
"Stability has been a challenge. With version 8, especially post go-live, we had a lot of problems."
"This version, version 8 has been working fine. Version 6 was horrible for us; the performance wasn't good at all."
"It can have a clearer navigation map of the user interface and user provisioning. The documentation lacks step-by-step details on common tasks like creating roles, running action reviews, and version control."
"The user interface design could be improved, especially during checkout and navigation."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"One Identity Manager is cost-efficient."
"It needs flexibility in the licensing or packaging, because you buy the entire package at once, and sometimes the customers are a bit overwhelmed with whatever they get. I would like if they could cut the licensing or packaging into somewhat smaller things."
"The price of One Identity Manager is cheaper than SailPoint."
"The pricing is reasonable compared to other solutions."
"One Identity isn't cheap for small or medium-sized businesses, but I don't think it's necessary for a small company to use. The price is fair for large enterprises with thousands of employees that want to adopt a zero-trust model."
"One Identity is cost-efficient from a licensing perspective. However, one drawback is that it's expensive on the hardware side for the customer to set up. One Identity's professional services team recommends various components. They lose some of the cost advantage because the hardware is expensive and requires maintenance."
"It has helped to reduce customer costs."
"You get a lot of bang for your buck with One Identity. It has many features that are included in the standard IGA license. Most people who are considering buying One Identity don't understand how much power is behind it in engines."
