Centralized monitoring has improved backup management but restore speed still needs work
Regarding Azure Backup's ransomware protection, ransomware is not a part of this function as it is isolated and therefore not applicable. This function has affected my customer's storage requirements because they have a policy where some servers have daily backup and some servers have weekly backup. We schedule accordingly based on these requirements. My customer's experience with Azure Backup's data recovery capabilities is good. It has affected their business continuity planning as per our documentation, where they provided the RPO and RTO specifications. I measure the effectiveness of Azure Backup in meeting regulatory compliance requirements using third-party tools and enterprise tools. We apply them on a daily basis over the applications and from an operating system perspective. In the backup, we have encryption applied, so there is no chance to retrieve it unless Azure Backup has some default fault. I would definitely recommend Azure Backup to others. If any customer has a certain cloud provider, they definitely need to use it. I provide this review with an overall rating of 7.5.

An affordable product that offers a reasonably good technical support
I rate the product's initial setup phase an eight on a scale of one to ten, where one is a difficult setup phase, and ten is an easy setup phase. The product's installation phase took me around two weeks. On average, it usually takes about a week or two to deploy when everything is in place. The solution is deployed on a hybrid cloud from Azure.

"I like the autofill-over feature and the simplicity of the solution."
"Our primary use case for the solution is to back up our devices and equipment for employees and some equipment in airport software."

Cons

"Microsoft's technical support for Azure products could be improved."
"In terms of tech support, I'm disappointed with support."
"For companies frequently accessing data or not using Microsoft Azure, the solution may not be very helpful."
"The extensibility onto hybrid environments needs a bit of tweaking for those on-prem."
"On-prem can be complex to set up but the cloud is simple."
"Azure lacks sufficient solutions for a particular scenario, we may need to resort to using third-party applications. In such cases, these applications can be employed to facilitate backup, replication, and the efficient utilization of internet connectivity and bandwidth. They enable us to effectively manage and transfer data while ensuring optimal utilization of network resources. However, it would be a benefit if we did not have to use third-party applications for these operations."
"To make it a ten, it should have the ability to extend the retention and to perform a copy of the data outside of the subscription - with no additional costs."
"In the next release, I would like to see the ability to back up to different cloud providers."
"This solution could be improved with regards to the hosts that integrate with the platform itself. Each of the hosts integrated with the storage and networking only provide one instance of a backup."
"The pricing could be improved. It's an expensive solution."
"The solution could be cheaper and they should include more education or marketing materials for users to understand how to use the solution."
"It could be cheaper."
"The solution's setup process should be simplified."
