Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Confluence essentially handles all of that, which means companies without the means for a dedicated document controller can still implement a QMS, and companies with a document controller benefit from the added efficiencies."
"There is a good library of templates for a wide range of needs."
"The solution helped us to see where we were going wrong and where we were doing good, and that helped us to make proper decisions"
"SharePoint is very confusing, but Atlassian Confluence is very simple."
"Confluence improved our communication and collaboration allowing everyone relevant to the discussion to provide their feedback while allowing managers to easily sift through the conversation to make strategic decisions."
"The most valuable feature of Atlassian Confluence is it's very easy to use and there are different options."
"The search functionality is a really powerful feature."
"The interesting thing is the connector between Jira and Confluence (it works wiki-like and provides a deep-connection with links between both systems)."
"MangoApps is my go-to recommendation for sole proprietorships, startups, SMBs, or even established companies who need a one-stop-shop for communication, filesharing, knowledge base management, and project management."
"The ability to have a box storage feature supporting each community page is the most valuable feature, i.e., similar to what we already know."

Cons

"There's room for improvement in the way folders are structured in Atlassian Confluence."
"I would like to see more macros provided by the company included in the license."
"The WYSIWYG editor is great, but there are some problems with formatting."
"The price could be improved. I have heard that certain adjustments would be made in 2024 and that it will then be more expensive, but I don't know the specifics."
"Basically, Confluence is heavily text-based."
"There is a significant difference between the data center version and the cloud version of Confluence. Providing the same features in both versions would be beneficial."
"The scalability for larger companies could be improved."
"That user management and subscriptions management was a bit painful, especially in larger environments."
"The ability to work on the documents themselves, without having to download and re-upload is needed."
"It doesn't have the most professional sounding name... but then again, I don't know that the name of a solution should be a factor in your decision making."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There are some cases where you can go on Confluence as a public site without a license, but you will not have all of the features. You can also have a Confluence site that does not require a license just to read the articles. When you have Jira Service Management attached to Confluence, then you can go through the portal of Jira Service Management and read the Confluence articles without the license. This is good because when you are in an ITSM environment, you have many customers, and you do not want them to have to pay just to read articles. Regarding the use of the full features of Confluence, there is a license cost, and it depends on how many users you want."
"This is a very expensive solution."
"Maybe we're only using 10% of it, but we have to pay for everything."
"For us, it's free to use. We don't pay any licensing."
"I am using the paid version. My company has purchased it for company employees. We are using Confluence as a company. I don't know how much it costs, but its price is good enough. Its price is not so high."
"We have a site license for Atlassian Confluence and there are some limitations on external users."
"The Confluence pricing is good. The only challenge we have experienced is with Jira and the add ons we use that need to be paid for separately."
"There is a license needed to use Atlassian Confluence."
