Affordable, easy to use, and offers good pricing
The solution is primarily used for the backup of the endpoints within our organization The solution has been very stable. It's quite easy to use and simple to navigate around. The performance has always been very good.  The pricing of the product is excellent. I wouldn't describe it as a…

Technical support has improved my data management process but I encounter GUI and cost challenges
The solution is available in the Azure Marketplace, but approaching directly is more cost-effective. The Marketplace approach incurs additional platform and reporting costs. We initially built Rubrik at host level and DB level. We encountered latency issues when reverting back, with numerous snapshots available. This resulted in increased costs and occupied spaces. I performed manual deletion of snapshots and verified with the Rubrik team for confirmation. The GUI reporting functionality lacks flexibility. For instance, obtaining specific server reports considering drive space and backup quantities is not possible, as it only provides overall reporting.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Flexibility really means a lot for us. Being able to address almost every client backup and recovery requirement means that we have a tremendous amount of confidence as do our partners that Blueshift is going to be able to deploy a solution quickly and efficiently."
"I am personally a fan of Exchange email level and MS SQL db level backups."
"I have found all the features useful in the solution."
"It allows our backup engineers to build great relationships with customers as they know their data is being protected by best-in-class software."
"It provides a secure and stable cloud backup solution."
"Asigra's client-less approach is one of the best in the industry."
"Asigra's agent-less capabilities make it a very convenient solution to implement."
"It has helped us to provide comprehensive data protection with high recovery rates and a malware scanning feature."
"Rubrik is able to hit about 95% to 98% of the things that we want to do, which is not going to be the case for every company, but it will fit most customers' needs."
"You need to understand what you're getting for the price: you are getting a backup solution which is state of the art and works absolutely flawlessly, with the storage needed to store your backups and all the sexy features that a modern backup solution can provide you, like deduplication, erasure coding, compression, fast execution time, secured data, and top-notch customer support, so while it might be expensive on paper, when you analyze what you are getting and the time you can spend on other stuff, then Rubrik is very cost-efficient."
"The fact that the API is so available to us with the playground — there's an internal and public playground — is also valuable. We can write API calls — and although I'm sure there's a way we could hurt the data — we write those calls with a lot of certainty that we won't be destroying anything. We write these API calls using really easy mechanisms and generate automation a lot faster."
"A Google-like file search, system scaling, and a frequent development cycle are some positives that this solution offers."
"The security and the ransomware protection are most valuable."
"I think the best feature is its masterless architecture."
"For data security, anomaly detection, site monitoring, and threat hunting are very important features that help customers."
"The most valuable feature is the archive to cloud location and the automation around the PowerShell script. There are also reports and dashboards."

Cons

"Some more work on reporting tools is required to help get better auto-generated information and analysis from the system."
"Technical Support: 5/10, Due to different timezones it would always be difficult to get hold of a tech."
"Asigra's implementation and day-to-day costs are very high; necessary features can significantly increase the cost of implementation."
"The UI could do with a facelift."
"I think Asigra still needs to simplify their GUI."
"Customer services would be a 3 out of 5, simply due high turnover and lack of communication."
"I think the product needs more diversity in Hyper-V."
"Personally speaking, I think the reporting should be more interactive."
"There are some corner cases where the Rubrik Connector (Agent) still doesn't work for our clients."
"The interface is still slightly clunky and has room for improvement. They do work with us whenever we mention anything that needs to be done or anything that we want. We find that bringing up the management interface is a little slow and not as intuitive as we would like, but it's been getting better as it evolves."
"The product’s user interface needs improvement."
"For Rubrik, though it does a great job, it needs to keep innovating to stay relevant in the data management field."
"The Office 365 protection could be improved."
"The main pain points we experienced was the stability of the system. We received a lot of instability when we have upgraded from a certain version to a new version."
"The same test case in Rubrik takes more than six to seven times longer, meaning the on-premises SLA is significantly faster."
"We need one system to manage all the Rubrik clusters."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of Asigra could improve, it is expensive. We have purchased an annual license."
"Asigra is priced competitively, but requires technical expertise to operate, optimize, and maintain its services."
"We do perpetual licensing... It was all based on the amount of storage we needed to use. We did a cost analysis compared to Tivoli and it was in line with other solutions."
"Its price tends to go up with time. Its pricing definitely has room for improvement. If you negotiate right with them, you might get a good price. Support is a part of the package, and every three years, when we renew our contract, we get new hardware."
"Rubrik is fairly priced."
"I rate the pricing an eight on a scale of one to ten, where one is low, and ten is high."
"It’s simple, straightforward, and we were able to see 50% hard savings."
"We pay yearly and it's based on the number of bricks."
"Rubrik was probably the most expensive solution but in the long run, it's justified by the value of the data that it protects."
"Rubrik is not the cheapest solution, but we've been happy with the time savings that we have seen. At least from what we have spent so far, we have been happy with the return on investment."
