We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The user-friendly policy manager lets us apply different controls for various user groups easily.""They support open standard features.""The configuration capabilities were good.""It's an extremely reliable platform for the network switches we use.""The solution is scalable.""The solution is very stable.""Arista Networks Platform is comfortable, easy to deploy, and easy to manage, with non-blocking technology. Additionally, it has a useful CloudVision platform and automation capabilities.""It provides telemetry and visibility for many metrics that are not supported by most of the other vendors. Out of the box, no third party solutions are needed."

"The product is stable.""I have found the solution to be scalable.""We are able to monitor everything that is happening on our network.""Configurations between FortiGate and FortiSwitch have to link to each other. We need configuration. The configuration is not like a Cisco switch. It has a unique configuration.""Based on my use cases, Fortinet FortiSwitch - Data Center was a great product that was easy to manage and work with while being a powerful tool.""The product's most valuable feature is its ability to manage switches from one central point.""SD-WAN and the security fabric are essential features of the product.""Fortinet FortiSwitch - Data Center's scalability is good."

Cons
"My company does face issues in terms of interoperability when it comes to the product, making it an area that needs to be fixed.""The intent-based networking management, together with the provider of these solutions that are already free, would be beneficial.""Arista Networks Platform should focus on improving the compatibility or integration with Cisco solutions.""An area for improvement in Arista Networks Platform is its integration, e.g. it needs to have more integration with its new products. Incorporating more security and cloud is also another area for improvement in the platform.""They need to enhance their code and their EOS. They need to improve some security features, and there are quite a number of bugs in their system. So, they need to work on that piece. In the next release, we need to have a modular feature. Instead of providing an integrated solution, they should go for something modular. They need to come up with modular highly scalable models. Even at the chassis layer, I want to see some improvement.""The product fails to offer functions related to cloud orchestration, making it in areas where improvements are required.""A smoother transition between ISPs during failover would improve the user experience by reducing unnecessary notifications and interruptions.""The stability of this solution needs to be improved as part of the next upgrade."

More Arista Networks Platform Cons →

"The UI of the firewall and reporting could be improved.""The FortiSwitch product was initially quite complex.""Before using FortiSwitch, you need several certifications.""FortiSwitch should improve the FortiGate map. The diagram cannot move automatically to show the switch. The map does not map the physical location. It cannot move or touch the diagram.""With IT products, there is always room for improvement.""The tool is not easy to use.""The solution’s pricing could be improved.""The solution can improve by upgrading QSFP+, it is very limited and must be supported more than it is now. If we need FortiSwitches to support all the QSFP ports our budgets would have to be very large."

    Overview

Arista Networks Platform is a stable and reliable solution for data center features, specifically for non-blocking switches used for spine-leaf connectivity with servers hooked to these switches. It also provides multi-layer switches for client networks, particularly in the banking sector.

Arista products are preferred for their stability, good hardware, ease of adoption and configuration, responsive and helpful support, and high throughput ratings. The solution has helped prevent screen loss and business outages in the media industry and is designed for next-generation data centers.

With 10 or 40 GE access ports and a high-throughput backbone, FortiSwitch Data Center Switches are ideal for the top-of-rack (ToR) server or firewall-aggregation applications. The high-speed switching fabric is also well suited for enterprise network core or backbone network installations.
