Easy to setup with good auto-implementation and good rule reviews
AlgoSec is slow when it is loaded with too many firewalls and policies. A plan to take care of heavy usage is to be considered. Support of all firewalls and policy features to be enabled. AlgoSec should support in identifying most hit rules and re-ordering existing firewall rules - this is a very key to manage firewall CPU. A clustering of AlgoSec can also be considered. A group of AlgoSec servers managing large client bases geographically or datacenter-wise or function-wise. A head reporting unit and child processing units.

"The firewall analyzer is great if you deploy a new firewall platform and need to see if it provides an adequate level of protection, where you don't have any dangerous rules."
"In my opinion, the most valuable features are the network map, unused rules reports (IPT), and active change."
"This is something that increases business efficiency and helps avoid bottlenecks in our NOC team."
"AlgoSec has improved our organization in terms of improving efficiency within our firewall setup. It has added automation to working process that has helped us achieve our initial goal of reacting faster to incoming requests, which as a result of allows the relevant teams time to focus on other areas of importance."
"I would improve the management. I need to view charts and traffic statistics, but the management console doesn't share that information with me."
"The telemetry visibility is really good as well as the automated workflows for creating policies. The overall solution is quite intuitive to use."
"The threat prevention and layer seven security features were the most used and important for us. All operations are quite good in this solution."
"It allows administrators to manage all firewalls from a single interface, reducing the time and effort required for configuration."
"Palo Alto Networks Panorama provides many features, such as alerts, traffic monitoring, and logs."
"It is great that the records go back to 30 days."
"The interface is very easy to use. You can do most jobs from one single console."
"The solution, especially the latest versions, is very stable."
"I like the policy topology map, which allows us to visualize the picture of the security policy of the whole organization."
"The solution is good, and no clients complained about it."
"This solution has helped our clients because it allows them to leverage the tools so that they can actually reduce their overall expenses for the environment."

"The automated reporting on a regular basis is helping us to be compliant with legal requirements."
"The Topology Map, which feeds into our SecureChange - the latter being an automation platform - there's a lot of synergy between the two."
"This solution provides a more organized manner for us to track towards compliance for our PCI audits."
"All the basic functions work well."

Cons

"The Firewall Analyzer module can be improved to implement a vulnerability management solution, or they can link Firewall Analyzer with a vulnerability management solution in order to get a better overview of what's going on in our network in terms of vulnerabilities."
"In the VMware platform, sometimes the application is frozen and we have to reload the machine."
"Advanced analytics and reporting capabilities that provide deeper insights into network traffic, security policy effectiveness, compliance, and risk management can be beneficial."
"We have a complaint about the compliance check, in that sometimes we want to keep rules rather than merge them."
"The initial setup can be complex for beginners."
"It can be optimized. There is a lot of RPA and we have scripts in AlgoSec that need recertification. With AlgoSec Firewall Analyzer, we can see lots of objects and lots of rules that tell us we need to clean the equipment. It will give us a solution but it doesn't always work. The solution that it gives us is not always accurate from the scripts."
"I would rate the support as six or seven out of 10."
"There are sometimes issues with the Risky Rules reports where the number of hits is registering zero, but we know that this is incorrect because we have checked the rules and see that they are indeed registering traffic."
"Clients need to have an alarm and alert system from which they can forward the trigger. The product needs to improve its integration as well."
"The integration between Strata Cloud Manager and Panorama could be enhanced to allow customers to stay on Panorama for many years while still utilizing Strata Cloud Manager for deployment."
"Palo Alto Networks Panorama has some bugs that could be fixed."
"A bottleneck in Palo Alto Networks Panorama is the licensing. The licensing model for the product is complicated. Another area for improvement is the PDF report generation because you'll notice that it's missing some details."
"Integration between Panorama and the Edge Firewall has a lot of issues, like different configuration assets, configuration object templates, lack of flexibility, and not a good browser."
"The central firewall management could be better."
"At times we have noticed that we get into issues where Panorama is going too slow or has other little problems. The performance can suffer occasionally."
"There needs to be an improvement in integrating AIOps functionalities into Panorama."
"I would rate their reports as a four out of ten. I don't like the way that they are shown. It is too hard to export and send them to our clients."
"Currently, we have to get different data from different sections of the site. It would be nice if it was all combined into one."
"My worry with Tufin is that it cannot connect to Fortinet, which is what I want to do."
"Customizing it can be a little tricky, but that depends on your use cases."
"The GUI is limited with respect to how much you can develop and visualize the process."
"There are things that could be explained a little better for somebody brand new to this system, which could be helpful, especially if it was in real-time while you were working in the system. Having the ability in real-time to be able to understand search query suggestions would be helpful."
"One feature that is missing is the ability to assign a step in the workflow to a specific user at a specific time, based on how the previous steps of the workflow have been handled."
"The policy browser has had trouble working. We have experienced bugs."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing for this solution seems to be reasonable for the functionality."
"The cost is kind of high but I really did not check any other vendors."
"We are working with our finance department right now to be able to purchase it. The AlgoSec team is doing everything that they can in their power to get the costs down to where our budget is. They have worked a lot on it. They have cut the cost in half for us so far by questioning, "This is in the quote. Is this something that is actually needed?" They have pulled some stuff out and cut our costs down by 50% for the product itself."
"We have had quite a number of our prospective clients have come to us, and say, "Hey guys, we want AlgoSec," but one of their turn-offs has been the pricing. I would like it if AlgoSec would review their pricing and come down on it. The solution is quite amazing and versatile, so we would really appreciate it if the pricing could be reviewed for Nigeria because we definitely would get more sales if that happened."
"Licensing is very easy to set up. The pricing is relative to how you want to expand and harden your network security."
"It will reduce your operations costs with improved team performance."
"Pricing is okay and the licensing can be a little tricky with the initial setup."
"It is fair."
"The licensing is not cheap. There are always hidden costs. You have support costs, or maybe you need to buy more optics on how the solution fits into the rest of your environment. It is possible some of the rest of your environment will need to change too."
"There is a license needed to use Palo Alto Networks Panorama. The cost is not that important, what is important is meeting all the requirements and security features."
"You can buy the hardware only and each box is not even $10,000. It's only $8,000 for the unit itself. However, then you are charged a three-year license at $81,000."
"Palo Alto is costly compared to Fortinet and Sophos."
"It is very affordable when compared to more expensive firewalls."
"With the URL filtering, we probably went down from around four hours in response time to about five minutes."
"My company pays for the licensing cost of Palo Alto Networks Panorama yearly, and it's all-inclusive, so there's no need to pay extra for some features."
"It is pretty reasonable as compared to other companies."
"The seller of Tufin, when I wanted the solution, was very flexible because the cost on the lease was very high in Latin America. So, he was able to reduce the cost."
"We haven't purchased the license yet for SecureChange. We do have plans to buy it next year."
"The solution has helped reduce the time it takes us to make changes. It helps make overall integrated changes immediately. It allows us to cut down at least a few hours in the week in regards to changes and monitoring."
"Pricing played a big part here... The customer had evaluated other products but, due to price as well as support, they chose Tufin."
"Licensing is on a customer by customer basis."
"I suggest talking with Tufin about the flexibility of the pricing structure."
"While licensing varies greatly, it is about $50,000 a year."
"If you don't buy their premium support, their technical support is not great and you can only call during daytime hours. So, we ended up purchasing their premium support."
