Pros
"When you go on the website, everything is clear and you don't have to ask questions.""The tool can work without distributor architecture or seller access points.""The stability is excellent."

"The initial setup was was just beautiful. It was straightforward.""Management can be carried out from a central point.""For me, the best feature of Fortinet FortiExtender is its integration with an external solution such as a 5G LTE broadband modem, wired modem, and cellular network. I also like that the product can be integrated into one device or a unified device, and that is one of its best features because it allows you to manage and centralize the control of every device.""The product is easy to use and easy to integrate.""The most valuable feature will be that it works.""We appreciate that this solution can be used as an active secondary link as well as a backup.""You don't need to have two different vendors to interoperate and get into comparability issues or inter-operability issues.""The solution is extremely user-friendly."

Cons
"Alcatel-Lucent Teldat needs to reduce its price.""The price could be reduced.""I would like to see something for remote working."

More Alcatel-Lucent Teldat Cons →

"What most of my clients are telling me is the price is a problem.""The support could be faster and more responsive.""Though Fortinet FortiExtender has some security features, the product could still be improved by adding features similar to those in FortiGuard, such as antivirus, intrusion, prevention, and detection, as well as web filtering features. The product is also not as user-friendly, so that's another area for improvement. In the FortiGate UTM solution of Fortinet, there's software-defined or SD-WAN, and in the next release of Fortinet FortiExtender, I'd like to see SD-WAN embedded in the product. Most of the communication in Fortinet FortiExtender is related to WAN and Edge, so having an SD-WAN function in the product would be useful for integrating and controlling WAN communication.""The solution would be a lot better if it was a little bit more intuitive. Additionally, the help menu would be a lot better if it was easier to identify the items that I was looking for. I find the graphical interface a little bit difficult to navigate. And I find the font that is used on the HTML interface not conducive to being able to be read in low light situations.""The engineering of the solution has some negative points, especially in terms of troubleshooting. It's difficult to troubleshoot when we have a problem. It's not like other products like Cisco or Palo Alto which make troubleshooting much easier.""We would like to see some improvement in the price for 5G models, as they are currently very expensive.""I would like to see them make it smaller in the next release so that it has a smaller footprint for mobile clients.""There is a huge downside because we need to remove and insert the SIM to get it working."

    Overview

Alcatel-Lucent Teldat vehicle-based routers is a class of router that enables organizations and businesses to create and run powerful mobile Wi-Fi networks. These routers are an industry leader in creating networks that can run from anywhere at any time. Organizations and businesses can empower their employees and clients to make full use of highly effective and secure networks on the go.

    Alcatel-Lucent Teldat Benefits

Some of the benefits of using Alcatel-Lucent’s Teldat vehicle-based routers include:

    • Automatic 3G backup. When one of these routers is having a problem with the wireless-WAN network that it is using, it automatically seeks and connects to an alternative network that meets the user’s needs.
    • Work 100 percent wirelessly. GPS systems enable Alcatel-Lucent’s Teldat vehicle-based router to function and be configured from anywhere on earth.
    • High level of durability. Alcatel-Lucent’s Teldat vehicle-based routers can withstand extreme temperatures, from -20 degrees Fahrenheit to 160 degrees Fahrenheit. Users who live in places with intemperate climates can use these routers without fear.

    Alcatel-Lucent Teldat Features

When users choose to employ Alcatel-Lucent Teldat vehicle-based routers, they gain access to many different capabilities. These features include:

    • Connectivity to multiple telecommunication carriers. Alcatel-Lucent’s Teldat vehicle-based routers can create redundancies that prevent communication networks from going down. When they create the main line network, they also connect to two additional telecommunication carriers. These form a backup network in case the first one fails.
    • Ability to enhance physical security. The routers can connect to external security resources like police vehicles. A vehicle that is suffering from a security issue can connect to those resources and covertly work toward resolving it.
    • Powerful digital threat protection. Alcatel-Lucent’s Teldat vehicle-based routers run IP filtering, MAC filtering, and SPI firewall software features. These protect users from a variety of digital threats.

    Reviews from Real Users

Alcatel-Lucent Teldat vehicle-based routers allow companies and organizations to create and manage powerful Wi-Fi networks. These routers are designed and marketed in a way that shows that the end user’s ability to benefit from the product is being considered at all times.

Alcatel-Lucent Teldat’s routers are designed to be incredibly stable. They rarely encounter issues, and if an issue develops in any of the router’s components, Alcatel-Lucent takes responsibility for replacing that part. Every part of these routers is covered by a lifetime warranty.

Kannan V., a sales manager at Dyarco Technology W.L.L, writes, “The stability is excellent. It comes with a lifetime warranty. Even if you're going through a difficult patch. If there is a failure in that scenario, it is very minor. We never encountered that, but If it happens, it's probably due to a web party, such as a power fluctuation. Even our power supply includes a hardware replacement. As a result, there are no issues with the even power supply's lifetime warranty. In the general market, with other competitor products, the power supply will not be covered, even though we are covering the power supply with a hardware replacement warranty. Which is where we have an advantage.”

Users can work with these routers both through the cloud and through on-premises devices. This option provides users with a versatile ability to run their routers in the way that best meets their needs.

A technical sales representative at a communications service provider, writes, “It is very versatile because you get both a cloud version and an on-premises version. You can use it for unified communication.”
