My main use case for Mendix is to automate processes for bigger and slightly smaller companies.

A specific example of a process I've automated with Mendix is mostly Excel processes, such as the integration of systems to expand a process.

Mendix has positively impacted our organization as we've specifically decided to be a Mendix-first consultancy firm, providing services to other companies to build with Mendix, making it essential for us to have a great experience with Mendix as it's at our core.

We can do more digital transformation processes for more customers due to using Mendix compared to my previous experience in high-code, where we would have needed more people to achieve the same goals, but I don't have any hard, objective numbers for that.

Mendix helps with those integrations by making it really easy with its tooling to integrate between different systems and have Mendix be the middleman where users input and go through a workflow by easily creating the domain model, pages, the integrations based on open API, and Swagger documentation, and also with the recent developments, generate bits and pieces with AI.

As an expert Mendix partner, we provide expert services for mostly companies that are either starting with Mendix or are servicing their end customers with Mendix, enabling them to be proper Mendix developers, delivering software with a certain level of quality, which can be done really well with the governance options that Mendix provides.

The best features that Mendix offers are proper guardrails that prevent starting from scratch, ensuring a certain level of security, user experience, and standardization for implementing workflows, API integrations, and how you set up your domain model. It's more strict, but it also has the ability to extend the platform where it prevents you from doing or achieving the goals that you want.

The guardrails and standardization in Mendix help especially with junior developers to avoid making certain mistakes you would when you're high coding, and they also help with setting a fair standard of quality.

Mendix isn't just an IDE or a coding language; it's a whole platform where you don't have to worry about hosting or monitoring your application, tracking project progress or user stories, as everything is essentially provided by the platform, and it has a very active community helping you out if you have any questions at all.

In recent years, the IDE has been more buggy and slower, and although there have been more features added, I would like to see more stability, as some areas that used to work for a fairly long time are now slower in my development, which feels like a step back.

I choose a seven mainly due to the issues we've faced with slowdowns and bugs during development, while runtime has been very stable, and the overall output on Mendix platform is still good; there is definitely some room for improvement, and I would probably have given it an eight or even a nine if those issues weren't hurting my developer output for the past few years.

Overall, Mendix platform is stable, but the IDE could be better.

The scalability of Mendix depends on what you want; I've seen solutions that are rather small, with one or two forms and a couple of pages and logic, and also solutions processing data at scale, talking about one million packages a day, so I would say it's fairly scalable.

The customer support varies; if it's about upgrading your license, it's really good, but if it's about having an issue that I can't solve despite being a Mendix expert and having tried every single bit and piece, support can feel like a stone wall, asking questions I've already gone through and not really taking me seriously from the start, which has been an issue since I started with Mendix.

For the customer support, I would rate it around a six at the moment.

Fourteen years ago, I was a high-coder, using Java, ColdFusion, and all kinds of web-based technologies. I primarily switched because of changing employers but stayed with Mendix because I saw the value of development being far faster and more focused on adding value to the business of my clients compared to being busy with repetitive work in high-coding that I didn't want to worry about.

We purchased Mendix directly with Mendix, not through the AWS Marketplace.

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing is reasonable; we've used a lot of basic nodes as well, which had some issues in the recent past due to the payment provider going bankrupt, but overall, the onboarding process is fairly easy with no real trouble.

We use the platform that Mendix provides themselves, which is run ultimately on AWS, for our public cloud deployments.

We serviced a recent customer who essentially said that if they digitize this process, they can save one person who is now full-time doing this particular process, and now we're automating it, so they don't really need them to do this anymore, and we hear these kinds of stories fairly often. It's not that they're really firing that personnel, but they can often focus on the core that really matters instead of repetitive processes in Excel forms and all of the overhead and human error that comes with that.

I did not evaluate other options before choosing Mendix; however, I have since looked into OutSystems, Betty Blocks, VisionX, and a couple of other low-code offerings or no-code, but I've stuck with Mendix given that they found a fairly okay balance between releasing new features and keeping the platform stable, although the stability of at least the IDE has degraded in the last couple of years, but they've been working on improving that.

My advice to others looking into using Mendix is that if you are completely fresh to software development, find a partner, preferably an expert partner, to do your first project and train your personnel; if you're not looking to manage your Mendix environments yourself eventually, find a partner that can also provide long-term support.

I think Mendix is the best platform for at least business-to-business or business internal processes; if you try to build something for business-to-consumer outside of administration-like processes, such as making a very fancy website, I would probably choose something else, but for all those other use cases, it's a perfect choice and a very good return on investment.

On a scale of one to ten, I rate Mendix a seven.

My main use case for Mendix is to create smart applications in a fast way, applications that have integrations, use of AI, custom widgets, and so on. A quick, specific example of an application I've built with Mendix is an application with video calls, which stands out for me, and it's an application that I am really proud about. In this application, we have like two people talking in a video call and then the agent on the other side can take pictures from the user's phone, because the user's used his or her phone to join the call via a Mendix application, and then they talk to each other with a video call, pictures, drawing pictures, that kind of stuff.

The best features Mendix offers are easy deployment, fast application creation, easy to build logic, and lots of marketplace modules and components to use in your applications, so you don't have to reinvent the wheel. If you need to eventually customize code, you can do it by using JavaScript and Java, which just make things faster.

Mendix has positively impacted my organization, especially for clients, who are getting lots of benefits, particularly speeding up changes, because they eventually need to change business rules, or they need to change how their business works. Mendix makes sure that happens fast, and about the video call application I created, they now speed up their customer service by having that video call feature, meaning they don't really need to send engineers physically to the client's location to see what's going on. All they need to do is do a video call, take a few pictures remotely, and that's it. No need to drive, no need to spend fuel, money with the engineers' location relocation; saving money is the most valuable thing.

After implementing Mendix, they reduced by 98% the engineers' relocation, as 98% of the cases are now being done by video calls instead of in-person appointments, which says a lot, even though the company didn't provide any numbers on how much is saved.

It would be great for AI in Mendix to read my whole project and understand the whole business, so all I need to do is ask, hey, what does this button do, and why is that button there? AI could answer me why we have that button, and what that button does. I know that this is something in progress by Mendix; eventually, we will get that feature, but this is something that we definitely need because new developers that join a project might struggle to understand the whole business, especially in complex applications. I chose eight instead of a higher or lower number because Mendix would be a 10 if we have the feature that I just mentioned, like asking why that button is there and getting a clear answer about its business purpose. It would also be a 10 if we have a faster Studio Pro, like not taking too much time to process things, especially when projects are too large; those two aspects would make it a 10 for me.

You can scale Mendix using a private cloud, but if you want to scale it to a bigger instance, you have to contact a Mendix partner or the same Mendix partner that sold you the license.

Customer support for Mendix is very good; we open a ticket, and they answer, of course depending on your plan, but it's very useful. I would rate customer support a nine.

Before Mendix, I used to be a high-code developer, so I didn't really use a platform or solution; I coded with React, Node.js, MongoDB, which aren't actually platforms but open-source solutions.

In the project that I'm working with, we are using the Mendix Cloud and with just a few clicks, we can deploy the application acceptance or production, which has made my work easier and more efficient because I don't really need to understand how DevOps works. I don't need to understand Kubernetes or Docker. All I need to do is to build my app and deploy it by just doing a few clicks. About the speed of development of app creation, I think it's just a matter of open Studio Pro, create the app, do all the pages logic we need, and then push to the point. So that's pretty much it.

My company has a business relationship with Mendix as a partner, specifically an official partner.

Not much about pricing, as it's something that you have to reach a Mendix vendor to see what the possibilities are. From the pricing shown on the Mendix webpage, we have a basic package where you pay 60 Euros a month for five users and 10 Euros per additional user. This is all I know about pricing, but for a different size of Mendix Cloud, you have to consult an official Mendix vendor or partner.

I evaluated OutSystems before choosing Mendix.

Right now, I'm working with AI, which is pretty new to me, but I'm learning a lot and Mendix makes sure we can use AI in a very smart and fast way by using the platform. My advice for others looking into using Mendix is to start with the basics; don't get rushed. Things will come up eventually and always ask for help. There are forums and lots of communities; you're not alone. It's a great platform to learn a lot and make a lot of money with it, so keep it going. The review rating for Mendix is 8.

My main use case for Mendix is to create enterprise-level applications for banking sectors and industrial expertise solutions with integration-level coding.

One specific example of an application I have built with Mendix for the banking sector is called DDM Connect, which was built to capture banking sector loans given to farmers in India. I use Mendix to create this large application with a low-code platform, allowing us to build the application in a shorter timeframe that helps users. I used Mendix to build this app for both web and native platforms.

The best features Mendix offers mainly include community support, the reusability of components available in the Marketplace, ease of use, and the ability to build and deploy everything in a single click.

The usability components from the Marketplace have helped my development process significantly because creating and managing accounts is a primary functionality in all applications. Mendix offers community components as well as an administration module to make this more simple and easier. For common functionalities like sending emails, there is an email connector which is high security and platform-supported, making it preferable over building connectors from scratch. These are enterprise-grade components.

Mendix has positively impacted my organization by being our primary building software and giving us a significant advantage over competitors who do not use a low-code platform. I am able to deliver applications in a shorter span with high quality and high maintainability. For example, to build an application for other vendors, it might take more than six months to a year, while I manage to complete the entire application in just three to four months with a much smaller team, typically two to three people, compared to other companies that require larger teams of ten to twenty developers.

Mendix has evolved as much as possible, and they are currently planning to automate tasks using AI agentics and other features. Every day presents a learning opportunity for developers using Mendix and the teams involved in improving the platform.

One needed improvement I have noticed while working with Mendix is in native mobile development, which still lacks features available in other development environments like Android Studio or Flutter. Certain components that should be available in 2026 are still not present in Mendix, making it difficult to explain limitations to customers. This aspect needs further attention, especially for native mobile development.

Mendix's scalability is similar to other platforms, and I can confidently say that scaling an application built on Mendix is quite easy.

Customer support is great, especially if I have a licensed-based application hosted in Mendix Cloud. They have a low SLA for addressing customer tickets, making their support helpful.

Previously, I was using Java and then OutSystems before switching to a low-code platform to streamline automation and reduce delivery times. I was looking for a solution that could handle enterprise-level applications, and upon discovering Mendix, I realized it could perform exceptionally well on the development side, prompting my switch.

I have seen a return on investment with Mendix, as the investment is definitely value for money. Traditional applications tend to have larger sizes and higher deployment costs, whereas with Mendix, the time of delivering applications, manageability, and smaller team sizes are significantly lower. If I can manage the licensing costs, it proves to be much more profitable than other platforms.

My experience with Mendix's pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that the pricing is moderate—not too low and not too high. The setup cost is average, and since it is a licensed-based tool, a basic license is usually sufficient for development without incurring much higher costs.

Before choosing Mendix, I evaluated Java, which has been the king of application building, but I now see Mendix as superior and place it above Java in my preferences.

I choose eight out of ten because Mendix is robust and a very useful tool for building applications from end to end, including integrations. I did not give a higher score due to some drawbacks related to mobile app development compared to other applications.

Regarding Mendix's AI capabilities, the governance and security when using Mendix Mia are secure, as data is not transferred or processed with any third-party data centers. However, when connecting the application with any MCP setup, the responsibility shifts to users.

The accuracy and reliability of Mendix's AI output is not 100%, but it is also not poor. The latest update of Mendix Studio Pro has improved upon previous versions, and I believe this represents an evolutionary flow in which the agent capabilities are solid. There are still improvements needed, and I trust that the Mendix team is working on those aspects.

I would rate the customer support a perfect ten, as I have had a very positive experience with their customer support team.

My advice for others looking into using Mendix is to definitely give it a try. If you are aiming to reduce team size and time for building applications, then Mendix is the best choice for you. I have given this review an overall rating of eight out of ten.

Our organization currently serves multiple pharmaceutical clients, and we design scalable and efficient end-to-end products and services based on web applications using Mendix, a low-code platform tool.

We have created multiple web applications for our pharmaceutical clients, including applications that help patients submit enrollment forms to enter their information and prescription details for ordering glucose monitoring devices or checking their insurance eligibility. We have also built different portals for tender solutions and systems for checking benefits verifications via web applications, including a channel management system and a revenue management system, among others.

Mendix is quite comfortable for the team to use, particularly for developers who have worked with low-code platform tools in their past experiences, as it enables integration with many components, including external and internal APIs, PDF generation, Twilio component, and AWS integration. This is one of the key selling points for Mendix, and if developers are seasoned in CSS and UI, they can create a lucrative and user-friendly interface.

The best features Mendix offers in my experience include its readiness to go to market, which reduces the effort and time consumed in developing an application end-to-end. If you have hands-on developers, you can easily have your application ready for business and end users within weeks or months, instead of the typical five to six months that other applications usually take.

In every area of technology, there is always room for improvement, and Mendix is no exception. I would highlight some areas for potential improvement, such as the ability to integrate more easily with external databases, which takes a considerable amount of time in Mendix compared to my past experiences. Integration with external databases can be slow, and it burdens queries when trying to pull large datasets, thus slowing down page execution.

Additionally, there are issues with constant values during deployments, where Mendix overwrites values without prior notification, which could result in unwanted changes if post-deployment activities are not monitored. The user interface documentation is clear and easy to understand if developers are skilled enough to handle CSS and configuration, but there are definitely a few enhancements that could be made, such as directly importing CSS files or improving the integration of tools like Cognito forms. The areas I have mentioned regarding external database integration, constant values during deployment, and some aspects of CSS and UI, as well as internal coding, cover my main concerns regarding where Mendix could be improved.

My main use case for Mendix is software development, specifically for both mobile and web applications.

Currently, I'm working on an electricity application with Mendix where the customer can raise a bill so we can provide them with the service. I've worked on many business projects, including gift and hospitality, but I cannot expose the titles here because they're client projects.

In addition to that, I have many more use cases with Mendix. Currently, I'm working on mobile applications where I've integrated many widgets including external plugins and Google Maps, incorporating React Native maps and these kinds of features.

When I mention scalability and the ability to implement new ideas quickly, I can explain that my use case is to implement an attendance system. However, when the client presented a different requirement, I was able to capture latitude, longitude, and many more use cases with ease, showcasing the vast opportunities Mendix provides for integration.

In my experience, the best features Mendix offers include productivity and scalability. We can do anything in Mendix; it's a huge opening where you can realize every idea.

From my perspective, the most valuable feature is pluggable widgets in Mendix. We can develop any React code and seamlessly integrate it with Mendix. This is something I wrote a blog about; it's the best feature I find in the platform.

Mendix has positively impacted my organization as it is fully Mendix-based. My organization primarily converts clients to build Mendix applications, and Mendix applications open many opportunities for developers, leading us to hire numerous Mendix developers to develop with the platform.

I can share that we've noticed significant outcomes due to Mendix in my organization. For a legacy application that typically takes a year, we can now complete it in just one or two months. It's a very quick output project. Moreover, for legacy applications, where we would normally need five to six developers, we find that with just two developers, we can handle everything within two months.

Mendix is already improved with every feature, including AI integrations, available. So I think there are no improvements needed for now.

Even though Mendix is great, I think something could be better regarding the extensions. Many people don't realize the potential of extensions, and if many more extensions are available in the marketplace, it will be quite helpful.

Mendix is indeed very stable. We can choose the Long-Term Support (LTS) options that provide a wide range of supported features.

Regarding scalability, we can certainly scale with Mendix. We can add many more attributes in the entity, and we can do anything we want.

Generally, the customer support takes around two weeks to respond to support tickets, but everything gets resolved. It's a better experience compared to other common platforms.

Before using Mendix, I actually worked on React, which I love, but I found it time-consuming compared to Mendix, where the same feature can be implemented very quickly.

A specific example of an application I've built with Mendix is Subscription Tracker, where the user can get a subscription for a particular charger or manage their subscription.

My experience with scalability and complex integrations includes a lot of integration with AWS systems and SAP systems, and I have integrated Mendix with Azure for SSO and the Auth0 system, making these integrations much easier than traditional programming languages. When it comes to scalability, we initially thought our application would require a small environment, but as users started using it, we understood it required more RAM and processing power, and we can scale the environment up or down with just a single click.

One feature I like most in Mendix is the reusable component, as it has its own marketplace where people like us publish widgets that can be used directly inside Mendix just by dragging and dropping it down.

Mendix's scalability works for me because it is drag and drop, so we do not spend time coding; we just drag and drop, which is much faster than traditional development. I find enough useful features in Mendix. Mendix has positively impacted my organization because it is a developing stack and is very much faster, making it easier to attract clients.

Improvements for Mendix include that sometimes it gets hung while loading.

Mendix is deployed in my organization as both private and public cloud. For Mendix, I mostly use AWS. I believe Mendix was purchased from Mendix and AWS from AWS; they are using both to link, but I am not certain, as it is in the DevOps team.

I have used Mendix for Teamcenter, integrating with Teamcenter using an API. I have created an app in Mendix for showing and mapping the data from Teamcenter and getting the data. I have also created other apps in Mendix, such as creating some data for student enrollment, including a registration form. I have also created many more projects in Mendix that I have already completed.

I have done integration mail projects. I have done other projects, including collecting data and student enrollments. I have also done a project where I created an AI robot that can talk and recognize your face. It will talk to you and answer what you are asking. I created it with the help of Mendix.

Mendix has handy tools, the UI is very good, and the toolset is also very good. There are multiple APIs there to integrate with anything, to other databases, or to connect with Teamcenter and other systems. I am also using Python for my robotics project. Very little coding is required in Mendix.

In my opinion, the best features Mendix offers include being a low-code software. Anyone who doesn't know how to code can definitely do coding and create an app in Mendix.

The low-code feature has helped my team and made my work easier because there are default templates, so we don't need to create or write code. We can just edit and create. There are templates and toolsets available. We don't need to create or write code for any API. There are also some apps that we can just download, connect, and work with.

Mendix has impacted my organization positively because we can work from anywhere. As we were doing in Python itself earlier, now we have created a Mendix app, and we can do our work there. There is no need to create or write Python code. We can do it easily, and anyone can. We just create users, they will log in, and they will write code or something, make changes, and implement it.

Since it's low-code, I would like Mendix to be web-based, so we shouldn't need to install Mendix to create an app.

I use Mendix to build a system about the consultation of APIs. We are using Mendix to build a system to check SAP, which is another system, and we use APIs to bring information from SAP to this project, allowing us to construct a web application to show this information for users.

The environment checking feature in Mendix is helpful because it is easy to check how the design of the feature appears in different environments, meaning I am not spending much time on verification, and it is very easy to check in different dimensions.

Mendix has positively impacted our organization as we can construct or build prototypes easily, allowing us to do this in a short amount of time. For example, with Mendix, a feature that we generally construct or build in one month can be made as a proof of concept in two weeks.

I think Mendix can be improved by supporting automated tests more easily. For example, Mendix can add some IDs for each component to build the automation tests more easily.
